Episode #292 : Season 9 : The South Pacific
Hello friends,
On this episode I depart Makagai Island and make way for the Yasawa Group, also known as the Western Group. Leaving at midday for the 96NM passage so we are sure to reach the dangerous coral pass near Yasawa Island in the daylight.
Once we make landfall I head into shore to explore the legendary Yasawa limestone caves!

I enjoyed the Captain Bligh passages 🤗 Have you heard this poem from Ella Wheeler Wilcox? Thought you may enjoy it. "One ship sails East, And another West, By the self-same winds that blow, 'Tis the set of the sails And not the gales, That tells the way we go. Like the winds of the sea, Are the waves of time, As we journey along through life, 'Tis the set of the soul, That determines the goal, And not the calm or the strife."

Hi James. I enjoyed this film very much, and I look forward to future videos. As it happens, I'm a descendant of John Fryer, Sailing Master of the Bounty. When the famous mutiny occurred, on April 28th 1789, Fryer was one of the eighteen loyal crew set adrift with Captain William Bligh in a 23-foot open boat. Their 3,600 mile voyage to Timor is one of the most incredible stories of the sea. Bligh was (unfortunately) a very tactless man, which caused a host of problems; nevertheless, both Bligh and Fryer were excellent navigators, and without their skill and endurance, none would have survived. The grave of John Fryer can still be seen at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk.
@sewingbox5635

That is amazing! I looked up John Fryer's court testimony in the mutiny trial. I find this historical information so interesting. I sailed with my father for many years. Thank you.

Unbelievable beauty. Here in North Missouri I’ve just finished mowing my yard and tilling my garden. I came into my garage to check the radar because it was supposed to rain. It broke up before it got this far. Watching your footage I’m just in awe and jealous like you wouldn’t believe. You are living my dream. Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us. DC

Hey - 100K subscribers! Good for you James. The cave made me think of a couple things. Journey to the center of the Earth. Like being inside the core of a tree that rotted from the inside and later the sea flowed into it. Notice the vertical flat spots that people wrote on look like a machined surface.

Regarding the slow charge on tablet. Take a sewing needle and scrape/ clean around the plug in port. Just stick it in there and keep scraping around in a circle and you may find lint etc come out. Do that until you don't get any more dirt and try charging again. It fixes most of slow charging issues. Hope that helps.
@SailorJames
@SailorJames Год назад
Yes I have done that many times
@scotty6435
@scotty6435 Год назад
Chances are the connectors are just gummed up. A cotton ear bud with some alcohol will hopefully do the trick. If they're rusty then a more aggressive cleaning will be needed but the device will die eventually. It might be worth finding some rubber weatherproofing plugs for the connector if that means you can avoid salt air exposure most of the time
