Just found your channel. We are not liveaboards yet but have 2 apollo ghost scooters. 2000 watt, 25 real world miles and they absolutely open doors to places youd never consider venturing off to. They are a bit awkward at 60 lbs each but not as bulky as bicycles would be.
Pretty cool gadget. I totally get the use case. What chemistry of Lithium-ion battery does it have. If anything other than Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4 or ‘LFP’) you might have some combustion risk that you didn’t have before. Depending on the packaging, if not LFP, you might be able to substitute LFP for what you have.
Funny I just heard a story from a buddy about lithium batteries taking out a boat. In telling him the marine lithium is a safe storage option. He's like, it was an electric bike on the back deck. Battery ruptured and started a fire. They couldn't put it out and lost the boat.
@@MadMarv. there’s a real linguistic challenge in the marketing of Lithium Iron Phophate: iron and ion sound too much alike, and even though LFP is a Lithium ion, it gets lumped into the bad press. Some trade group should re-market LFP as Lithium Ferrous Phosphate, or simply Lithium Ferrous batteries to disassociate with the other Lithium ion chemistries.
