'Sailor Beware' was made in 1952, and this scene looks like it was filmed at a real training camp. If that's the case then Dean is doing a pretty good job of keeping up with all those young recruits when he would have been 35 years old at that time. (probably around 15 years or so older than them)
Anyone who has ever done calisthenics on Preble Field (this area in "Sailor Beware, 1952) gets a laugh out of this scene. I served on Staff, RTC San Diego 1973-1977 and before that went to Boot Camp in San Diego, and this scene still makes me laugh!
Dean Martin was an illegal prize fighter who worked in Mafia night clubs. Jerry lewis would work out with the L.A. Dodgers. Both were in gret physical shape at this time.....
First off i couldnt stop lauging when i saw this lol. im going into the navy and am really excited about it. i got qualified as a HM, and a AO and some other things... also. @boricuamexchulo ... just so you know its not Hoorah, its OORRAAHH, and thats a MARINE thing just so you know, dont steal something they have worked so hard to achieve. anyone who is willing to put on a uniform (marine, navy, army, airforce) has my respect.
Just to let you guys know. It's Oorah for the marines,Hooah for the Us army and airforce.i believe the Us navy is Hooyah and sometimes Hoorah.i think it's Hooyah and they get the Oorah part from their marine counterparts
OMFG!!! Sooo true, and i'm in the .... So funny. i like this but if u want to b more accurate u should of had 1/3 of the rucruits doing that and 1/3 of the RDC's doing it too.... still, pretty accurate though. though.lol
Yea, a lot of fakers...it;s pretty pathetic. Real SEALs (who are indeed real, not ones in BUD/S) do not brag about it or reveal it every chance they get. I saw that a lot in High School from 3 guys, none of them made it. It's quite hilarious. If you go to some websites they tell you what questions to ask to verify they actually are.
And people actually watched Jerry Lewis and laughed? Come on, look at him. I wasn't alive in 1952 but assume Lewis' ostensible 'popularity' and fame were manufactured whole and part of some kind of elaborate hoax?
This looks like a good reason why 'sensitive' folks and actors should not be in the military. Jerry Lewis, aka, the original Emo goof is simply not funny. He is so so so clever....in his own mind. He would not last 3 minutes without his possy of sensitive supporters.
