We went there to have the open-air bath experience.
It was just a 15-minute walk from the town centre.
Though the site was filled with lanterns & illumination, in the dark of the night, we couldn't see the colour of the landscape and the water. So I would love to see it at daytime as well one day. On the way, we passed a small shrine with a pathway up. The line of the red toris reminded me of the Fushimi Inari in Kyoto. After bathing in the sulphuric water, my skin felt itchy, presumably due to the acidity of the water. I guess that's how our skin looked smooth afterwards. It helped us remove our dead skin cells and promote new growth.
Fee: ¥700 pp
Note that it doesn't have any shower rooms: having a bath in the onsen after shower or a shower in the accomodation after bathing in the onsen.
