The church houses an icon of St. St. Cyril and Methodius from 1805. It was donated by an unknown donor for the opening of the old church of St. Elijah. In 1836, a cell school was opened with Dimitar Paskalev Toev as a teacher. According to the locals, the child of Katerina Tsilka, the Bulgarian kidnapped together with Miss Stone, was baptized in this church. The church was burned during the Balkan War of 1912-1913. A wall painting to the left of the altar depicting Jesus Christ is partially preserved. A small part of the stone blocks and walls of the old temple also survives.
