When you step in the church, it takes your breath away. Its insanely huge! I've been there 4 times and its always the same feeling. Absolutely amazing...

We spent a whole day in the Vatican, loved the museums and the sistine Chappell, also visited Castel st. Angelo...then walked across the river into Rome...what beautiful memories!
Hey! A whole day at the Vatican? Oi..it is exhausting! :) Yeah, I should probably film a tour of the Vatican too. I've been the museums a few times with family and those are some long days.
Me too! I spent my birthday in the Vatican between St. Peter's and the museums, my gift was a forbidden photo of Sistine chapel ceiling (i took it really fast and it was perfect)
@@paulacorderoqueirolo2072 the forbidden photos are on the ceilings above the internal staircase of Castel Sant'Angelo, once also property of the Church, painted images of male and female figures in acts that they say obscene, for others, but not for them, are they have been beautifully seen for hundreds of years, and can be photographed and seen by anyone, including adults and children, including prelates and nuns
It doesn't matter to be christian-catholic, atheist/agnostic (as in my case) or anything else, that's not the point. Externally is beautiful and you understand the magnificence but what really is impressive is inside; there are some of the most wonderful masterpieces that man ever create, you are surrounded by beauty, the first time I entered I wondered about who and how could have created something like that.
It does matter to be Christian. God of the Bible is real. John 11:25 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live"
Thank you, Lazios, for your comment. It is so important for the God Loving people to know, that all people are invited to be INSPIRED and loved, where they experience their faith! Please, stay in peace, my Friend! And stay openhearted, because God only knows...! :)

Lol you have developed a false gospel around Peter and Matthew 16v 18. Wallow in your luxury, completely ignoring the word of God. He will not be cheated!
Brilliant videoing - right speed, so much to see, impressing frescoes, paintings and statues. It is the first time I see the Vatican from the inside. Unbelievable. Thank you for sharing and by the way, you picked a beautiful day with a great blue sky 🥰
You do not know Scriptures. Some of you are misinformed. How can Rome be the Eternal City. A nation that worshipped foreign gods before the Apostle Paul and the other Apostles like Peter brought the Gospel to the Roman Empire. The Eternal City of God will always be Jerusalem. Study your Bible and not be deceived.
@@estherkisob9919 jerusalem was only a city in the roman province of palestine (do not confuse today's palestine, which only takes the name of the roman provincia). Roma caput mundi.
@@estherkisob9919 Rome is and will allways be the Ethernal City of the Western Civilization. It has nothing to do with God and the Bible in first place, but God blessed it with the apostles speech and word and made it the way for the buinding of all the western christianity. So yeah, Rome is eternal, it was born pagan and it was made the light that brought the christian faith for all the western world, including all the protestant countries that would never ever knew the gospel if the Roman Empire did not existed before. Who were those who accepted the world of the apostles? Those were the greeks and the romans, not the hebrews. So all the western christianity are a heritage from the old Roman Empire. We are now on the age of the Gospel and of the New Testament, the new alliance, but you seem to be in the age of the Old Testament yet.
Thanks for the video. I never really had an idea on how really big and beautiful Saint Peter's Basilica is until you did this extensive walk. Mind blown.
My thanks for an outstanding presentation. ‘Awesome’ and ‘Magnificent’ are just two words that come immediately to mind, to describe the beauty of the Basilica. (Oh, and ‘Breathtaking’.) 🐨🇦🇺
Maravilloso !!! Fantástico, que calidad y muy buena información !!!! Gracias por todos los que no podemos ir allí por diferentes razones !!! Lo podemos disfrutar a través de ti !!! Gracias y cariños desde Uruguay 😍😙😙🇺🇾
Bravissimo, Isaac, this time you out-did yourself ! You make one feel like we are taking a tour with a professional tour guide. You not only show us but you educate us about the subject as well. Genius!!! Thank you so much for your attention to detail. I'm visiting Spain soon, but the Vatican is also in my bucket list, it's beautiful! Now, about the Italian we are learning ... (sorry, I just had to ask. 😁)
as it was the most important building at that time, they could have completed it even in less than 80 years, but something went on the opposite direction: Rossellino's foundations were a really big problem. Bramante's sack walls got build very badly and many years have got spent to fix his negligence. Raphael's project expanded even more the enormous original project. Antonio da Sangallo wanted to have an even bigger project so he could get more money in time. Michelangelo was the first to lead a smart and fast project but Pirro Ligorio got in his way. Giacomo dalla Porta included some strange geometry in some domes. Carlo Maderno expanded and ruined the beautiful idea drawn by Michelangelo. Bernini's bell towers damaged the facade's structures. Very complicated contract as you can see
Absolutely outstanding tour! Thank you for "going the extra mile" in filming this and providing interesting commentary. The videography was fabulous. I will never be able to travel to the basilica, but this felt like I was truly there. Thank you!
I believe most, if not all, the pieces of artwork which appear to be paintings are in fact mosaics of tile, including on the walls and ceilings. That to me is awesome ! Shows how the art was meant to last a long time!
To define St. Peter's Basilica as one of the most important churches in the world, frankly, seems a little reductive to me! Both for the works of art it contains, the grandeur of the building and for what it represents for Christianity.
Thanks this is was awesome. I had to pinch myself when I visited, it felt like a dream. It really is mesmerizing and can be appreciated by other faiths as well.
And again, Ive just visited Vatican a few years ago, but after the damn pandemic of almost 2 years until now, its a good and fresh breath to witness Vatican, so thank you very much for your effort and dedication :D
Sempre excelente imagem, com gráficos iniciais praticos. Os comentários são úteis, simples, acessíveis para o comum dos visitantes. A tradução em várias linguas é um factor de acréscimo valioso. Obrigado.
What a marvel built without power tools and motorized cranes. Breathtakingly gorgeous and inspiring total surrender and piety. I pray to be there in person one day.
Magnifico video sin cortar, es como si estuviéramos visitando el lugar, gracias por compartir, su tiempo y la elaboración del video, saludos desde México
What an AMAZING tour! It made me wish to spend a whole week in Rome just to visit and experience the Basilica. I have visited it twice, as of now, and never had I learned so much! Thank you!
It is a wonder. You tell yourself those who have built it have certainly witness a wonder and they intended to translate it through what they do and how they do it. The ceiling, the marble of the floor, etc are true wonders. It tells you also about the sense of the aesthetic that has characterized the society. Because when you walk the streets in Roma you can imagine how great that city has been. And when you see the train station in Milan called Centrale you can come to the conclusion of a sense of aesthetic that has cultural dimension as highlighted by the story of the workshops of Verrocchio centuries ago where high skilled sculptors, artists, etc are trained
Thank you for the courage to walk 537 steps to show the hidden gems of the rooftop domes of St. Peter Basilica, and Vatican 🇻🇦 city with the captions. This video was awesome 👏🏾👏🏾
Encantada !! Obrigada, isso que você faz é um carinho para as pessoas, principalmente para aquelas que nunca vão poder ver essas maravilhas pessoalmente !! Obrigada, obrigada!!😍😍😘😘🙏
I genuinely don't understand how humans were capable of building this. In a way it's even more astonishing to me than the pyramids. I mean seriously these are people with zero electrical equipment or tools. These guys were chisel and hammer and they built this. I simply fail to understand how that is possible in 150 years.
I love the indescribable atmosphere that I feel the moment I enter the church. The feeling that is completely different from Japanese temples and shrines is even moving.
Yes totally agree, this is the reason for basilicas, it's to move people's hearts towards the majesty of God with all His creation, as broken down with our daily problems as we are, that we become mystified when we describe the awe and joy after the encounter and a divine experience, and we gain the strength to resolve to problems surrounding us, even if it does not get directly resolved, our burdens get lighter at least whenever we start our day (a reset). I still believe even temples and all other religious buildings emit this same energy of calmness and the Buddhist or Shinto shrines also give that subtle breeze of the sense of belonging to the harmony with nature, and everyone from all walks of faith can relate even if we each have a different understanding of the cosmos. In any case, all places of worship are beautiful and awe-inspiring when there's an order of balance within a person and the silence of the body, mind, heart, and soul, while still being present to serve God or one's deity with doing good to others.
@@TheOrable5135 I am not religiously attached, but I understand that buildings and premises such as churches, temples, and shrines are sacred places and should be respected, even if we believe in different religions. The silence and atmosphere you feel when you enter such a sacred place must be some kind of energy given by God or Buddha.
Last year, the Vatican did stations of the Cross at night in the front circular patio in front of St Peter's Basilica--it is really gorgeous and is preserved on youtube...really worth watching (1.5 hours)...dts/usa
This is the building to end all buildings. When you stride through its massive doors you will feel disappointment because it seems small inside. But that is only in your head. You will notice how little people on the other side of the hall are, and you will start to comprehend that everything is so redicilous in size that no wonder your brain dismissed it as unrealistic and made it smaller. But Saint Peter"s Basilica is not only huge... other buildings are huge... other buildings have larger indoor space... but here every inch is pure art! Art of the finest form. You can explore it for hours and you wouldn't have seen everything. But be aware... after visiting, no other building can compare in grandeur. Not Versaille, not Notre Dame, not Westminster Abbey, not Neuschwarnstein, neither The Hermitage, nor the ruins of Ankor or the pyramides of Gizeh or Kukulcán, not the Forbidden City and not Nikkō. They all are beatiful and wonderful.. but can you say that they are more splendid than this? I think not.

As one Saracen said to the other: " there is a centuries old graveyard under St. Peter's Basilica. Going back to the days when Christians were being fed to the lions. The Vatican used to give tours of this nether graveyard. Which leads up to the hill where St. Peter was made meet his Maker.
And you know what? St. Peter's Basilica is made of wonderful Italian bricks. So buy yourself the charming story of St. Peter's too, which is part of the whole masterpiece! Bye 😘
Something that not many people know or have noticed is that along the floor of the central nave (where walking is prohibited and wooden barriers with red cloth are set up, as seen in this video), there are inscriptions marking the lengths of some of the world's largest churches. These markers illustrate how far each of these churches would extend if placed inside St. Peter's Basilica, underscoring the immense size of the basilica compared to other significant cathedrals and basilicas worldwide.
How long does it take to clean each day?... Wonder what Peter would think of this church? It's amazing and Beautiful place looks can be so deceiving ....may Almighty GOD have mercy on us all.Thank you for posting video ...
