This school use to be called Saint Peters College, and are now named Saint Peters University. It’s a Small catholic College in Jersey City NJ. The campus isn’t really that big and it’s in the inner city of jersey city. Few blocks one direction and you could be in one of the most dangerous places in JC. To see this small university do what they are doing is amazing. And it definitely isn’t one of the first colleges a NJ student would apply to. We’d apply to Rutgers University, and a few others before Saint Peters. This team has nothing to lose, hope they win it!

I don't talk much about basketball. However I think this is a sign of what to come for lower seeds. I find it so cool. It'll only make the tournament better, giving low seeds confidence and mojo from two 15's in a row into sweet 16.

They beat Duke and Marshall in 1968 NIT and comment before the game from duke center was "I thought this was a Church! They were beaten 100-71 in locally famous Run Baby Run game. That is how their civic center was named

I think the 21-game win streak and all the attention and pressure that came with it took a toll on Murray State - after they broke into the rankings in February they had a lot of close calls with bad teams and then had to really labor to win their conference tournament final against Morehead, where a loss would have left them on the bubble even with their record. Then what little they had left in the tank was expended in the first-round game against USF. You could tell in the closing minutes of this one they were done, they had nothing left.

This is why I love the tournament! Anything can happen VCU, Butter, FGSU and on and on every team has a chance and although ST. Peters might not win next game but you never know and that’s exciting to watch!!!

Butler is not comparable. The first run they had they were a 5 seed and when they made it back to the championship the next year they were underseeded due to some midseason conference losses.

@@jonhillery7736 I’m from Indy area Butler went from Horizon league, Atlantic 10 all the way to the big east . I don’t think casual fans even knew about Butler before 2010. It’s a tiny school 3,000 and the 2 runs they made in tournament to championship games put them on the map and the coach went to the Boston Celtics. The same thing can happen to St. Peter’s if they were to make it to final 4 and follow that up next year boom they would reap benefits but I think these small schools would have to do it twice like Butler.

@@dennissinkovics8379 Butler at that point had still been to multiple sweet 16s and was a regularly in the tournament and winning the Horizon. And certainly well-known to people in Indiana (I'm from Lafayette) and has quite a lot of basketball history. If anything they're more comparable to Murray State this year, but even then Butler was definitely better because Murray State's never been to a Sweet 16.

Expect more of this due to improved 3 point shooting at all levels of basketball. It's completely changed the game tbh...Upsets are going to become more common place because shooting ability really changes the dynamics and helps out the smaller teams. I'm also noticing that many schools now have pg's that are shorter than 6 ft or barely 6 ft due to the very same reason. The ability to shoot changes the efficiency and impact that a smaller guard can make.

Good for them 👍 I’ve been watching college basketball since the 70’s and I’ve never heard of this school before this Tournament…. Ironically, this is their 4th appearance to March Madness, but I don’t remember them. 😂

Wow.. This team is fun to watch. They are better than a normal 15 seed team.. They play great team ball and they got some depth. And play good D.. They can compete with anybody it looks like.. Go ST. Peters.. I knew the East bracket was gonna be a blood bath.. With Kentucky and Baylor gone, It could help St. Peters be the lowest seed to ever to get to a final four.
