From my new album Estrellita, a collection of my favorite encore pieces.
As I curated the tracklist, I reflected on the encore pieces that have always held a special place in my heart. Many of these pieces were originally written for piano, violin, or voice. I've always wondered how the cello could bring these beautiful pieces to life.
This album was recorded in the middle of pandemic in 2021 at the Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts. During the covid pandemic, I finally had the time to explore new possibilities and experiment with arrangements that would best honor the cello. 🎻
The unique timbre of the cello is both soulful and powerful, and I hope that through this album, you will experience a wide spectrum of emotions and find inspiration. 🥰🥰🥰
