Well done Saints! Keep going (From a Hammer XO) Want to see you back in the Prem ASAP. Our clubs are now linked with JWP and Downes and miss you guys being with us.
I don't think that's fair. Everyone was making mistakes during the first two months. With match practice they're now much more comfortable in the system. Stephens only played 3 games before his injury, so he's effectively still in that period of adjusting to doing things that he's never been asked to do before, and making the errors that come with that. Definitely doesn't mean he can't do it, his best attribute is his ability on the ball. I do however think it's an awkward situation, as there's no way THB and Bednarek should miss a minute based on their performances. Two of our best this season and so consistent. I'd like to see Martin ignore the captaincy element and treat Stephens as a 3rd choice who has to wait for an injury or dip in form to get his chance again. After today I think that will be the case. @@joelturner9021
Jack Stephen’s has always been and will continue to be a bloody liability within our defence, time to move on as this is not the time for misplaced loyalty! Sorry Jack but you are the weakest link!
@@jeffthomas3707 that’s what I said, we took our foot of the gas second half and didn’t play the same, so I’m right in saying Swansea we’re lucky not to be 6-7 down by half time
Why would you break up a very comfortable defence, just to bring on jack stevens it all went to pot after he come on, we were lucky to come away with all 3 points
I don't think that will happen again. Every time he has shoe-horned Stevo in, we have issue's. RM has been learning through the season and i fully expect him to iron this issue out. COYS
It’s a tricky one for sure, because he is our captain, but he simply isn’t good as Bednarek and THB. Only reason why Stephens came on so soon was because THB had a yellow. We kind of shot ourselves in the foot a little by making him our captain 🤣
At 3:40, going frame by frame shows both Southampton behind the defenders, 2nd goal was offside. Great game otherwise, the dogfight with Ipswich has them in 2nd and playing good football..
Swansea had more opportunities to score, with four clear chances in the second half compared to Southampton's two in the first half. Two offside goals not counted.
Swansea's defence is pathetic. But the officiating is just as miserable! If the EFL can't afford VAR, can't they at least hire competent Officials to officiate games?
