The dude in the Cartoon Network shirt needs to play Saints Row 1 & 2 if he likes his stories dark and gritty. SR 3 and up are cartoony and dumb, but the first two were really good and took themselves more seriously.
Joe, if you had an issue with the over the top, fast and furious esque gameplay and story of Gat Out Of Hell, I'd definitely recommend saints row 2, it has a much more grounded and darker world and story, the over the top elements are scaled back for things like side activities and customization, instead of it being the front and center of the story, world and characters
In my opinion you guys played "the worst ones" out of the franchise the best one is Saints row 2 with 1 and 3 in 2nd place. I think Saints row 4 and Gat out of hell did not live up to the rest.
If you guys haven’t played Saints Row 1 or 2 then you’re missing out on the glory years of this franchise. I’d highly recommend going back and playing the first 2 if you didn’t like 3 or 4.
Yes, my fellow Saints Row OGs are giving them the goods. Do not smite them for not knowing, guide them carefully to the golden ages of Saints Row and Saints Row 2. Then they will understand that their opinions on this monstrosity is not only profound but also exceptional to those who value what was truly precious about this franchise in its earlier stages.
Bro play the first and second games those two are dark and serious which I'm getting tired of people saying the "ENTIRE" series was wacky it wasn't not for the first two games
@@lfcreations902 3 is Aight but it was too over the top saints row 1 and 2 are dark and brutal but with subtle funny parts that don’t make the characters look soft like the scene in sr2 w Carlos that was heat
If you haven’t played saints row 1 or 2 your missing a good story and gameplay minus the graphics if they stop stayed with strictly making it to compete with gta it would easily be one of the best franchises
@@CamSeanoaTolls26 Im sorry but In my opinion this Is not a saints row game. It looks like trash they took out of a trash can and just slapped “saints row” on It. The characters are boring…the art style Is a fortnite cliche. And this game screams mary sue…0/10 ✌🏾👎🏾
I loved saint rows 3 and 4 and gat out of hell so this will probably be my new favorite I don’t really care for the first 2 like the whole fandom lol they all like it but me lol
I mess with these dudes heavy, especially for reactions. And Joe isn't wrong about SR4 and SR Gat Out Of Hell being WILDLY over the top. Cause they ARE!! And frankly not what ANYONE asked for...
People who have only played saints row 4 and gato out of hell don't really have a valid opinion on this matter. It's giving me Saints Row the third vibes and personally I like that. Would I like a game styled after saints row 2? Absolutely, but am I happy about this one? Basically. I'll need to see actual gameplay trailers first.
I'm sort of looking forward to the game but I need to see some gameplay but from what I've seen so far I don't get why people say it's woke saints row never been a serious franchise it's always been goofy and over the top but until I see some gameplay and customization then I will judge it
If you started saints row for the first time and played saints row 4 or gat out of hell then obviously you would not be into this franchise since those two games were shit
I don’t care to go back and play Saints Row one and 2. They are GTA ripoffs. I played Saints Row 3 remastered and had fun but I really enjoyed Saints Row 4. I loved the over the top silliness. This reboot game looks fine to me. I’ll be getting this when it drops.
As so many people on these comments saints row 1,2 and 3 was better then 4. And 1 and 2 was gritty. The characters in the new game have got sort of vibes from the previous crew such as The Boss has never changed with the attitude, the character Neenah has got vibes of Lin from Saints Row 1 as she's a bad ass and Kenzie from 3 and 4. Eli reminds me of Pierce as he is trying to make money and Kevin seems like a Johnny Gat vibes with the tattoos but hasn't got not the attitude though
I don't get why developers decide to do a reboot, remove everything that made the original good for the sake of "appealing to modern audiences" a.k.a Twitter, and then act surprised that fans are pissed. Saints Row's offensive humor is what seperated it from GTA, but it is being toned down in this reboot.
I thought Saints Row 1-4 were all pretty great. I think they succeeded as positioning themselves as a unique franchise instead of a low-rent GTA knock off. If Watch_Dogs tried to be the more strategic GTA game with a prescient social commentary, Saints Row was the game that played up the manic fun inherent to the open world crime game. The escalation of stakes from low level street thing in SR 1 to intergalactic conflict on SR 4 felt like it worked as a parody of GTA and how you go from a penniless newcomer to crime kingpin overnight. This game feels like a step in the wrong direction because it looks like they sanded off all the edges to try and be as inoffensive as possible. Attempting to appeal to people who don’t like crime games, they alienate long time fans while failing to attract new ones. Maybe the game is good, after all, we’ve only seen a CG trailer, but compare this to the SR3 trailer and this looks more like Watch_Dogs with its hipster Starbucks barista protagonists instead of proper a Saints Row game.
If you guys are going to critizise SR for 3, and 4 and whatever trash came out after. Then please don't until you've played 1 and 2 literally day and night. It was about gangs and not this over the top shit.
The first two Saints Row were serious business. The third was alright but over the top with pointless jokes and a lot of adultery. 4th was beyond ridiculous but it was okay. But this Saints Row doesn’t even look appealing nor exciting. It’s not only over the top but it’s bland.
5:19 Sorry to break it to you but you're wrong. you're judging a game series by one of the newer games and not the older ones. Saints Row hasn't always been over the top. Play Saints Row 1 and 2 and try and say that Gat out of hell is the most dark and gritty one. and of course gat out of hell is a joke because they fucked up the series after 1 and 2. You're sitting here saying "too much color, too much fun, all of this fast and furious esque, nah i need a more darker grittier world" then why just play the latest Saints Row game without even doing research on the first two games. If you played those games. you'll see that it wasn't no fast and furious, over the top game. It was ab Gangs. not Spaceships or the devil, or being a start up company. it was more dark and gritty. then they made it more for 13 yr old little boys and girls. now somehow it licensed by fucking disney. (that was a joke bc of the fact that the new one is a sensitive for kids crumb compared to the first 2 games). I swear people need to do their research before saying stuff.
The reboot is cringe as fuck The “gang” safe house is a Starbucks for sure And no it has not “always” been like this, the over the line goofy shit started with 3. 1 and 2 were far more serious
