Woo! Thank you for giving them a looksee and a spotlighting review, Hedgy! They are definitely something else and definitely need a lot more exposure. Of the several female-fronted or all-female bands, SAISEIGA are definitely one of the more Metal and less J-Pop inclined ones. Not that they don't have any J-Pop in the mix here and there in some songs - it's just not as prevalent as other genre-mixing J-Metal bands - but Regan especially has a very particular Metal attitude in her performance, in her presentation and how she plays with the versatility of her voice - not to mention possesses the deepest Metal growl of any Japanese female vocalist in the J-Metal scene. And just as you pointed out, a very good well-rounded vocal range. Like someone else pointed out, Regan and Kiriko/Tohko were previously in a Prog. Metal band(One of Tohko's primary influences and favorite Metal bands is Dream Theater and yes she absolutely loves what she does) called Zettai Club (Regan showcased her warm and rich crooning singing abilities more in Zettai Club such as in "Mugen Thriller") that disbanded early in the pandemic; Ichinose the bassist left to do solo projects and apparently she and Mary's Blood's drummer Mari are hooking up for possible new band project. Muu (Zettai Club guitarist) and Lumina (key-tar/piano) haven't made any new ventures public since, although Lumina had a Piano-centric solo album released just 3 months before they disbanded. Regan and Kiriko/Tohko went on to form the foundation of SAISEIGA, in the middle of the pandemic. That's also been one of SAISEIGA's uphill battles. Wakkun the guitarist joined them by being introduced to Regan by a mutual friend and Katsuki the bassist has his own RU-vid channel where he does instrumentals and covers, including a Punk Rock cover with over 200k views. They both kind of had been freelance orbiting around the J-Metal/J-Rock scene before SAISEIGA. And speaking of Punk Rock, there are some heavy Punk Rock/Metal hybrid songs to their credit. That's another thing I love about SAISEIGA, they're not afraid to consistently add some raw and heavy hard sounding tracks on their albums and in their live sets. You can sample some of this in "Go on!" They have both a music video and live version on their SAISIEGA Official channel, only the live version has a permanent advertisement graphic for the live concert DVD the footage is from at the bottom half of the video; other live versions on RU-vid that are NOT on their Official channel have semi-muffled, tinny audio quality so I wouldn't recommend doing those. You definitely should checkout "Ride on" from their first full LP release in 2022 "THE SUN" as someone else recommended, that was the song that finally hooked me to this band. Regan features some sky-piercing vocal fry on that one! "HANABI" is their latest MV release from the same "NOSTALGIA" 2nd album release that JUMBLE is from. "HANABI" showcases some of their J-Pop/Metal mixing abilities, but believe me it's in a very SAISEIGA Metal-centric way and of course with Regan's vocal potency. "ILLUSION", one of their earlier RU-vid uploads to me is little hidden overlooked gem. It's like Psychedelic J-Metal with pretty nice groove. That too is off their first LP. Which ever you choose to go with next, I'm here for it! :)

Great review of a fantastic band, you are right about their concerts, they are really lively, I have had the good fortune of seeing them live in Tokyo 3 times in the last 7 months. When you speak to the members after the shows they are so down to earth and appreciate everyone coming to watch them.

Thank you reaction! vocalist REGAN and drummer TOHKO's former band "Zettai Club" suddenly disbanded and they were unable to continue their music activities. The name SAISEIGA was given to them by re-establishing their own band. SAISEIGA means undifferentiated cells during regeneration. My favorite songs are "HANABI" and "RIDE ON".

Cool! I thought it might be something you'd like. They're still a fairly new band that not a lot of people have heard but they are getting some buzz. Hopefully this video will help get them out there. I'll admit I have ulterior motives. I hope they get big enough they may come to the US so I can see them live. If you want to check out something else try Ride On or the have a live vireo for Joker. Thanks again for the reaction, enjoyable as always. Can't beat Hedgie dancing in his chair, lol.

Very nice indeed. JUMBLE is a appropriate name, isn't it? The djente part was really unexpected, and I will always give extra points for audible bass parts. Bass players now are just miles beyond what they were back in my day. I really liked the timbre of the singers clean parts too. I had to go watch the original video at the five-sixteen mark for that drummer smile. Quite the minx!

Goodness me Hedgy ! As part of my own celebration of Japan Week, I actually checked this band and this song out. It's exactly that 'hybrid' style that Japanese metal does best. Yes, that drummer is super kawaii. Cool song. Great band !

Japan just keeps throwing heaps of good and interesting music right at us, don't they? That was really good and as noted earlier - bass parts like the ones in here does something special to me. I'll keep an eye on these people, for sure!

Great song. Well constucted and enough changes of pace. The harsh vocals were very on point. Guess I never get used to Japanese clean singing. Unlike Charles I didn't like the timbre in her voice. It sounds a bit nervous to me. It's something that's noticable in other Japanese female fronted bands also. A lot of lady singers have got this timbre. Again, good song nonetheless. Cheers 🍺
