Actually he got hit hard in the final after winning the rounds needed to qualify and also the semi finals, he also had to qualify for the olympics. So his training arguably paid off. Even if he had been declared the looser of the final he would have one a silver hardly a minor achievement. Also the rule set was semi contact, those rules were known in advanced and agreed upon by everyone. So I am not sure what your objection here is. Go into a local MMA gym, tell those training there you agree to have some light sparring with contrôléd contact, then kick your sparring partner in the neck so that he is knocked out, see what the response is. I suspect it won’t be positive.

With all this conditioning and you still failed to hold a jodan keri and the way you were my idle id rather now look for another. You lie down just to get a gold medal all this training put to waste that kick had no power 🤨

So you're accusing him of faking getting knocked out? Surely you realized the ten medics tending to him. They would have realized, if he was just pretending - and then he would have been disqualified. Thats the rules. Also, it doesn't necessarily take much force to knock someone out. The knockout comes from the head being shaken the "right way".

@@leopoldriebmann9770 Even if he did get knocked out he didn't deserve to win. That final guaranteed that karate will never be in olympics again at least not under WKF rules. All the people who have been talking bad about this style of karate competition have a perfect example to use now and it's immortalized in history forever

@@shinoobie1549 Your argument goes more in the way, that you don't like WKF rules. And that it is probably not entertaining to watch for people who don't know them well. To which I totally agree! Many of the other comments I read are however quite hostile towards Ganjzadeh or suggest, that there was some kind of fraud involved. It was not! The referees just followed the rules.
@shinoobie1549

@@leopoldriebmann9770 I know that WKF rules has a stipulation called "mubobi" where a player who fails to defend himself against a well executed technique bears the responsibility for getting hurt. Or when players pretend to be hurt when they are not. I was not one of those medics or Sajad himself to say whether he was pretending but I know for a fact that athletes tend to exaggerate their injuries because they know that WKF referees are more prone to give category 1 fouls than mubobi. This is why WKF fights are so passive and half of the fighters barely know how to defend themselves or how to throw a proper punch without exposing their head. In this case Sajad basically leaned into the kick and you can see it from videos and pictures. There was no follow through from Hamedi. Sajad like many WKF fighters have this bad habit of dropping their guard and diving into attacks leaving themselves exposed which is the result we see here. The kick would have been a normal chudan geri otherwise.

@@shinoobie1549 The fights are passive, because none of the fighters want to take the risk to get countered. One of the German participants explained that during a seminar. It has nothing to do with opponents faking injuries. Considering "Mubobi", as to my knowledge and experience, today it is mainly used in sub-national tournaments, or in genereal when there are unexperienced fighters participating. I dont remember that they used it even once during the olympics - at least not in the fights I have seen. Pretending to be hurt or exagerating an injury are two different category 2 penalties. Actually, with Sajad lying for more than ten seconds, the referee had exactly the three choices: 1) Disqualify Sajad for pretending to be hurt. 2) Category 2 penalty for exagerating an injury or... 3 ) ...disqualify Tareg for injuring his opponent in a way, that lower his chances of winning to almost 0% The way you are writing, you're not WKF yourself, right? You doing Kyukushinkai?
