Exactly. The pieces of a story that were taken out or changed didn’t do her character justice and it seems like the studio was just setting her up for the masses to dislike her. The scene of her reflecting on her actions towards Naruto and jumping to save him from being decapitated would have Been great in the anime (as well as removing all of the added ‘bitchiness’)

The thing I hate the most is that studio pierrot makes sakura look flat when in the manga, kishimoto draws her with average sized chest and curves on her body, not making her look like a plank of wood

And Hinata wasn't originally drawn with E cup breasts either , she was a bit bigger in the average range . The studio really drew a 12 y/o Hinata with quite big breasts , dancing naked under a waterfall. Gross stuff .

Sakura fan logic: Complain about how the Creator written her in manga then complain about how she was anime. Just maybe her character isn't good y'all reaching. Her only character development was literally finally train something everyone does in series. Don't get wrong thumbs up for healing and sneak attack on kaguya but breaking her horn isnt flex when Sasuke broke a horn with regular sword.

@@lamar9616 I was ranking her writing as S, and the both of them needed the other just as much (ignoring the fact she adapted to fighting Sasori herself doing the fight), her not serving much of a role was the problem of the authors writing. All of which is a good enough reason to complain about the bad writing that came after this arc. You dont even to be a fan of Sakura to see the problematic writing choices that followed the rest of the series.

@nyahdesu_ congratulations the healer healed but as for our main character when you got the Ninetailes ripped out forget about Obito putting another nine tails back into Naruto that's what actually saved his life. Take away Sakura Naruto will still be alive because you know the plot and main character

This is a fantastic video! Thank you for giving a detailed breakdown. I knew Studio Pierrot did Sakura dirty but this was way worse than I thought. Honestly, if there were any justice in the anime world, Kishimoto would be able to sue Studio Pierrot for taking far too many liberties on his work and demonstrably altering the perception of it. I wasn’t trusting the studio before this video but I’ll be even less so now. Sakura deserved so much more and the studio did all of this because they were Hinata biased.

I gotta say that it’s not a good look for them in terms of how they treat Sakura. A lot of this stuff is stuff you would have to go out of way to change. It’s a shame that it’s happened so many times. But yeah. Thank you again. 😁

Geez. I know kishimoto had some issues in how he wrote and portrayed sakura, but studio pierrot treated her way worse than kishimoto ever did. And seems like studio pierrot has a long history of mistreating or sexualizing female characters to the point of ruining them for the fans of the series they are part of. Who are the angry man-babies that studio pierrot that hate sakura so much?

Your saying that like sakura isn't one of the most hated characters in history. Plus they animated what was in the manga and Sakura was still hated. Plus sakura wasn't even kishimoto's idea it was his editors. Kishimoto admitted he couldn't write a women which was why he didn't want to add sakura but his editor told him to.

@@Swagjutsusolosfiction They didn't animate everything in the manga. The studio changed some of sakura's scenes in the manga to nerf her even further. Yeah, she was hated, but that's not an excuse to nerf her further than what was done in the manga. And so what if sakura was the editor's idea and kishimoto admitted he couldn't write female characters? Those aren't excuses either. Kishimoto could have taken the time to learn how to write female characters (instead of doing stuff like thinking that making her prettier would make her appeal to more female readers). If the anime studio was willing to make filler episodes to give some side characters more screentime and appearances and change sarada's genin outfit from what was in the boruto manga to the one kishimoto designed for her, the anime could have helped improve sakura's character and popularity instead of nerfing her even further. Kishimoto and studio pierrot both betrayed sakura but studio pierrot failed sakura more than kishimoto because as bad as his attempts were, kishimoto did try to make sakura likeable to readers. [But strangley, sakura didn't become likeable until boruto, which could be due to several favors outside of the franchise.]

Dumbass kishimoto wasn't planning on adding women into his story, and also because he couldn't write he women he instead base sakura off his wife and oda stated that sakura looks like kishimoto's wife.

Oh. And I want to add this here. Sakura wasn't hated as much in Japan as she was in the USA. Manga readers didn't hate Sakura like people who only watched the anime did. This tells you everything about how kishimoto and his manga team (I will include the editors here) saw and treated Sakura versus how the upper management and executives at studio pierrot saw and treated Sakura. Kishimoto sucked at writing female characters and didn't have anyone on his staff (I am guessing there were no women there) that could help him with that, but with all his failed and messed-up attempts, at least I believe him when he said he tried to make sakura mkre likeable because she was based on his wife (and narusakusasu love triangle was based on a love triangle between his wife, him, and his brother at that time). The manbabies at studio pierrot didnt even try to make sakura look good and likeable - just kept demonizing her even further - and they have a long history of doing that tonother fenale characters like her in other series they have animated. [Apparently, even the lower-level employees at studio pierrot were shocked at the swift change in the naruto ending and were taken aback and mad that naruhina happened and not narusaku. The editors have suggested a lot of changes to kishimoto but they would have never asked kishimoto to change the main endgame couples if it wasn't for the man-babies at studio pierrot forcing him to do so. The change being abrupt and last minute is even more obvious if you look at boruto's and sarada's designs, especially boruto's. Himawari feels like a naruhina kid; boruto doesn't. I get that it was probably easier to modify sarada's design to turn from a sasukarin kid to a sasusaku kid than to turn boruto from a narusaku kid to a naruhina kid. But they didn't even try with boruto's design. You have to squint your eyes to kind of see hinata's face and eye shapes in him and his favorite color being pink is literally a tribute to Sakura.]

Not to mention how the fanbase harrased a real person that are doing their job Sakura related and the novel. It's insane how hardcore hatred towards Sakura are because of these changes in the show including discussion from social media how they pointed out that doesn't know what filler means which increases hatred to toxic through the fanbase with false info with making up stories which isn't true. In conclusion the SP animators are the cause of toxic fanbase towards Sakura in the first place by changing her character in the show, because of what the fanbase complaining about Sakura are fillers. I've also heard Kishimoto was planning to give Sakura an arc, but it has been denied by SP. I could tell Kishimoto tries his best for Sakura's character to be liked through the manga with her important role of the storyline, but SP changed the story through the show with her important things she did even if it's little that impact the story but it's still part of her important role. Then Kishimoto gave up on her because of the hate it has been received, but that doesn't mean entirely given up on her because she's part of the female heroine. Not to mention Kishimoto is fond of SasuSaku, where he cried by making a goodbye panel between Sakura and Sasuke since genin and he has same expression where Sakura cried by sympathizing his feeling through his creation during that moment. But of course SP has to ruin every important moment Sakura has with other characters such as Naruto and Sasuke, especially her development and changes she has since genin. They have to make her a brat, obsessed, rude, clueless which she didn't develop or changed at all in the show and still the same since ninja academy and remove or changes her character. There's a lot to say on what's going on through every possibilities about Sakura, Kishimoto, SP animators, social media discussion, and everything place back together to sorts things out, and sometimes some certain fans would make their own stories that isn't true such as "Kishimoto doesn't want Sakura to be heroine and replace her with Hinata as heroine because of all hate she been received since Hinata plays as an important role" as an example, not trying to hate Hinata or anything, it's something Naruto fans would normally says especially "Kishimoto almost has a verge of divorce when his wife upsets that SakuNaru didn't happened" etc etc.

I think you should also address the bias towards Hinata. A lot of Naruto fandoms including Studio Pierrot have a thing for her and bash Sakura over their fondness towards Hinata. Studio Pierrot sexualizes Hinata multiple times especially one time in the filler arc where Hinata dances around on the lake naked despite that she was 12 years old at the time, keeps re-writing the past, adding bullshit that never existed in the first place like retconning established storylines and characters' development for Hinata and NaruHina sake, and give her some more eye-candy appearances to make other female characters like Ino and Sakura look bad in comparison. I don't hate Hinata, it's just the favoritism around her is getting ridiculous.

Even small things that they added in were annoying. In different fillers, they had it that Hinata could do medical ninjutsu out of nowhere. That had me so confused since I don’t think we’d even gotten any information on her level Chaka control

Don't leave out changing the ending to make it so that Hinata's dream comes true and not Naruto's. I'm not crazy about the manga ending, but at least Naruto was hokage ffs I guess to SP Hinata finally getting married to Naruto was more important. I don't even hate Hinata, but like why?

You are the only one on this platform that addressed this, but man u barely scratched the surface. There are so many changes to the point that it's not the same character that was in the manga from appearance to dialogue & even behavior. and the fillers where they steamed rolled this character.Alot of people don't even know what fillers are .Studio Pierrot's agenda was to make Hinata the main heroine, which they were successful in doing by the end of the series "Byakugan Princess" get that out of here, Hianta wasn't bullied in childhood But they added that backstory Sakura was bullied to the point she had bruises but they removed that They also changed Sasuke making him cold & emo especially in part 1 bruh they took his expressions away. changed all his scenes with Sakura. And did that with other characters as well

I just hope to at least make sure that Sakura’s character is given her flowers. To some degree. She’s also my favorite character in Naruto and it’s a shame Studio Pierrot for some reason made her look worse.

She still gets hate, granted there are a lot of people that have come around to her character but a lot of people still hate her sadly. I wish the anime studio didn’t do these kinds of changes in the first place.

The studio really did her dirty. If you notice by adding in all of the times, she hits Naruto in the anime, it makes her look much worse as opposed to much fewer times in the manga. I think it was even pointed out that in the fight against Sasori, she was actually more independent in the manga versus the anime The completely ignored her novel, remove her or changed Aspects of in other novels which ended up, diminishing her prowess and kept her in the damsel.

You know, I believe even if the hardcore Sakura haters had a chance to write her, they would try to improve on her character instead of simply making her worse. It's clear at this point that the people at Studio Pierriot seem to despise Sakura and try exaggerating the worst traits of her character in the manga to the anime. I wasn't even aware of some of the Boruto stuff that they left out or changed. I wish Kishimoto was aware of this and told them to stop.

Kishimoto was aware of it. He stated in interviews he was surprised and disturbed by Studio Pierrot's infatuation with hinata and their obsession with her as a character

Actually I've heard that kishimoto actually wrote her in a way so she would be really relatable and loved by the girls but since he doesn't know how to write women well he was surprised to how much hate she got in og Naruto so in Shippuden when he had a character arc just for her producers advised him to not go with it since she already got enough hate and move along with the story. Quite sad Because that could have actually made her character alot better ig

me who finished naruto in 2019 who was following "sakura banwagon" were confused when seeing sakura actually do usefull, but still annoying character but after some memes later, a month ago i start reading the manga and found it's really heart breaking for the changes that tainted some character especially sakura like that, for me 12yo sakura still annoying but not deserve that much hate, that comes from 30 years old who were get bullied back then but i dunno, for kids mistake i still forgives those guys who was mocking and bully me back then but this pierrot shit, i dunno as they're already adults, lets said you are itachi and saying don;t hate the studio, then i'm going sasuke for keep hating them if they keep the changes to the remake and not faithful to manga

Yeah honestly, it's just not a good look for the studio. If they are always going out of their way to make changes that don't portray Sakura or anything to do with her in the best light. It just seems very suspicious at this point.

In other case, the creator didn't like the character either. Studio's simple solution, we have a female character, but its technically not a character job done whith minimal effort... Cheers!

5:22 Well actually the anime's depiction was better here since Sakura hit the top of Kaguya's head it wouldn't make any sense that her eye, or face for that matter would be damaged. That also might of been the punch she got from Naruto earlier on so this point is not really relevant.

Since I only watch the anime I really didn’t know about these changes. Still I want it on record as someone who was repeatedly bullied and hit for laughs, I intensely hated those scenes of Sakura hitting Naruto for no reason. There are numerous other scenes that depict Sakura in a bad light. The hospital scene where Tsunade just returned to Konoha and heals Sasuke. Sakura immediately throws herself on Sasuke without giving Naruto any thanks whatsoever. Or the times when Naruto saves Sakura and Sakura thanks Sasuke for the save. Not a good look! While Hinata is a much better girl, I believe she should not have married Naruto either. There was no chemistry between them. Yes Hinata admires Naruto for his quality and worth, but that’s it.

The thing is, Hinata didn't have that much of existence in the manga, Like, literally, she was existing as much as Tenten did in the anime, or even less I started reading the manga and was surprised about that Like wt* man She wasn't even of any importance, they just HAD to make her the one with the spotlight 😑

@@DarthVoxyn I'll tell u the changes it may get long First change from the start is Sasuke also liked Sakura back,he blushes around Sakura, he asks Naruto about Sakura while blushing not like in the anime where is asking for tips, Yeah so did she say something about me? winks at her before the start of the written exams and again blushes , he holds her hand tightly during forest of death In ch 144 he gets jealous when Sakura similes at Naruto and again in ch 173. Also the hospital scene was changed, Naruto was not upset that Sakura Hugged Sasuke, he happily walked out from the room giving them their personal space Sakura doesn't say Naruto doesn't have parents that was Sasuke's line Sakura had visible bursies from being bullied it's removed Sakura saves Naruto from zabuzas blade in ch 11, it's removed Sakura never hitted Naruto for no reason, in the manga its just 15 times she even hitted him in 700 chs out of 15 just 4 times after timeskip. She is also isn't flat like they showed in the anime Sakura doesn't say who will she save first Sasuke or naruto,that's filler When she lied to naruto about loving him, in the manga it's clear that she was gonna k*// herself during that arc that's why she lied in the first place Dragged stabbing Obitos eye part for 10 minutes while it was just 2 panels in manga Also when Sakura punched Kaguya, she broke one of her horns and damaged her eye removed Hinatas Back story about being bullied is filler , Hinatas fight against is also filler pain one shotted Hinata in ch 463, The staff at studio Pierrot were just simps for Hinata that's why they ruined Sakura's character to make Hinata the main heroine of the franchise

I'm sorry of I'm wrong But i read the manga All of it And i haven't seen the first few things u said Sasuke asking naruto about Sakura and winking, i checked again to make sure, i even went to the japanese colored version, nothing... I couldn't find this at all.. Also about ch144 He did get jealous Bc he wanted to b stronger Not bc he wanted to save sakura This scene is in the anime as is, it wasn't altered from Sasuke's pov But yes, u are right They DID change alot of Sakura's stuff She isn't that flat, And yes, naruto wasn't upset leaving them in the hospital alone Alot of what u wrote is correct But the ones i mentioned are what i checked and never found Don't get me wrong I'm not here to fight I like sakura, i don't love her so much but i like her.. and if these were all correct I wouldn't dare misinform others. ^^

I agree that Studio Pierrot did Sakura dirty. I mean me being a Nami fan can totally understand that. Toei does the same thing with Nami in the anime. These studios has something against the main female of these shows for some reason. 😂 They're always horribly adapted. 😞 That being said. Ngl Sakura isn't really a good character to begin with. Yes, Studio Pierrot did ruin Sakura a lot but she wasn't really that good of a character to begin with. Kishimoto just sucked at writing female characters. Even he himself admitted that. I remember he once said that he's not a fan of Sakura and thst she was never supposed to be important to the story. I also clearly remember him putting Sakura on the same category as characters like Kiba.

actually even though he can't really write women well she doesn't dislike Sakura at all, even better he created her so she could be relatable and lovable for girls but got alot of hate for her character in og naruto since he can not write them well, still her character design and looks was one of his favorites and he thought she came out prettier than he ever expected and she made sakura based of his wife so his wife really loves her, in Shippuden he decided to give her arc of her own to develop her character but unfortunately producers advised him not to since she already got hate in og naruto and it would be "pointless" and still would get hated on, I think it really could have made people love her so quite sad they didn't go along with it

@@neboanna Just make things clear he said he found female characters hard to draw not write Character Designs he was referring to which he again recently confirmed in France on 24 august when he said he couldn't have draw sadara again Character Designs not writing He also said in that interview the only thing he missed with character of Sakura was not introducing Sakura's parents early in the manga and that's it , he wrote Sakura brilliantly with a constant theme and development but people never care to pay intention to that bcz of he can't write female characters lmao which he never said

@@badkarma450 even though sakura has developed alot and even though kishimoto hasn't said he finds female characters hard to write it still shows. yes sakura had amazing development but there was a lot of times were he just decided not to show that development and throw it in water just because of sasusaku. If u look at how he writes women and how he writes men it's so clear that they are not on the same level at all. Almost all male characters have good backstory, development that makes sense and whatnot. But he pays more attention to freaking side male characters than female main, which is sad because I'm really not Sakura hater I'm her biggest fan ever. only maybe good female character that was written well is konan. Yeah sure as u mentioned sakura has developed alot in strength and that's important but just strength isn't enough and there is times in Shippuden where he still makes sakura act like the og Sakura, plus Instead of making Sakura her own unique character he decided to make her into Tsunade copy, sure that's her teacher but that doesn't mean even their personalities have to be the same, yet what still surprises me is he made sakura so similar to tsunade but they love tsunade and hate Sakura, really doesn't make sense but then I realize reason why they do that is Tsunade has "more chest" ? Which is absurd reason. Don't get me started on how bad was ino's and Sakura's rivaly was written. which I remind u should have been good considering he can write rivaly between Naruto and sasuke amazingly. Even if he doesn't say it kishimoto is really bad at writing women and that's just how it is, everyone knows it. If he had known Naruto would be legit best anime ever, till this day people still rewrite Sakura and female characters that would have been better for the story because they just can't stand how badly women are ruined, search it up on RU-vid. @@neboanna That goes back to my original comment, you tubers rewriting Sakura bcz they think Kishimoto can't write female characters and he said so which is false , it's just popular believe which fans/you tubers follow. Every character in This show is built of each other, and he doesn't go out of his way to write female characters differently,it's a Shonen manga so male characters would be more prominent like in every shonen No one really pays attention to the writing 😑 , most male characters are built of each other and are similar in terms of personalities Example Jiraya/Obito/Naruto it's intentional to make parallels ,so why it matters if Rin/Tsunade/Sakura have some similarities they are not still same characters Sakura's character through out the series resolved around a theme which was "low self esteem" a person who hates/ thinks low of them self, Sakura was bullied badly in childhood, in the manga she had visible bursies and her parents her ass shown in rtn (Kishimoto introduced her parents in this movie) The no1 cause of Low self-esteem is experiences in early childhood, such as bullying or neglect and when they grow up they develop these habits (Source google) Trying to Please Others In order to gain external validation, people who don't feel good about themselves may go above and beyond to please others and neglect their own well-being for them. Key word " Above and beyond" That explains why Sakura was so much after Sasuke top Rockie of the village to make herself feel better. People with low self-esteem talk negatively about themselves, Again its shown ( I'm always in the way, thinks everyone hate her) Feels they are inferior to others (Again Sakura thinks this) Can't accept compliments , ( That also explains alot why she wasn't able to notice Rock lee or Narutos love) And last Suicid** which she was gonna do it during kage summit arc, Like the fake confession and knocking team out, why that was the reason (It's Confirmed in Tumblr ch 693) Writing is pretty consistent from start to finish but no one seems to notice bcz of Kishimoto can't write female characters,her story is pretty fked up especially the suici**

But if people didn't pay attention to the writing of female characters they wouldn't hate sakura sm. This just proves even if character was decently written they still found her something to hate her for. Everyone I know that watches naruto other than me hates Sakura for way she's written this people couldn't have gotten this shit out of nowhere there's cleary some stuff kishimoto missed when writing her. 😭

Kishimoto is the one who did her dirty, IMHO. The post Kage Summit arc was absolutely heinous for Sakura's character. Though really, every arc post-Sasori was downhill for her.

Im a massive Sakura hater and being branded as one is a badge of honor i will proudly wear on my chest till my dying day. With that being said, this is my second time ive watched people expose Sakura's standing as a heroine and the studio's meddling. Its really unfir and if they didnt do what theyve done to sakura's character, she be having half the amount of haters she has today. P.S dont mistranslate my hatred towards Sakura as me being a hinata fan. I hate them both equall!
