I just got done watching Sakurai's presentation on Tekken's Kazuya coming out in Smash Bros Ultimate and DO YOU SEE WHAT HE DID WITH HIM!? Tons of moves, super armor while crouching, invincible dashing, shield breaks, and reflectors! He then went ahead and deconfirmed...

@@mathunit1 I can promise you that the moveset he has more than makes up for the auto-turn mechanic. He has to keep track of more things so it's not that bad. That being said though there's no auto-turn in Tekken so I'm disappointed they actually gave him that.

@@llamabot9889 actually Ultima explained on Twitter that that's because of an ESRB policy that prevents games of a certain classification mentioning games of a higher classification by name, and that in the japanese version of this presentation, it did in fact say Devil May Cry instead of just Dante. So yeah, like with most things, blame the ESRB

It will and it also gives the player less time to think of what to do. Same goes for the Kaz player but once you have that in muscle memory it won't matter to them.

The reason Tekken moves are like just a few frames slower is because you have to react on where their hit will land, high, medium or low and respond accordingly. A high counter will be countered with a specific move, not just anything that's somewhat fast since they have hit properties on the body unlike Smash. Same goes for mid and lows. There's also no shield button in Tekken. If they hit low you gotta crouch block. You can't just press one button, there's multiple inputs to defend. Tekkens fastest move I believe is 9 frames or something like that. Not much input delay/lag in comparison to Smash though so it's actually faster than you think. A frame 7 move in Smash is actually 11 frames. I love Smash, I just wanted to clear that up. Yes frame-data in Smash is a bit faster but the frames needed to defend are not on the same level.

In Tekken you have a button for each limb (Ex. A = left arm, B = Right, etc) In Smash there's one button for every limb. (Ex. A = both arms and legs) In Tekken the 10 hit combo would look something like, B,A,B,B,Y,X,X,A,B,A In Smash...

Tekken players don’t mind learning so many moves it’s what makes a fighting game interesting whether or not we use all of the moves is on them they don’t need to use all of the moves only the useful ones
