Charles is ok., but he is not real deal coach.. basically he picks up his boxing knowledge from Cuba trips.. where he take a lessons from Cubans.. that is ok.. but Charles don't have ring experience.. .. for start learning he is ok
Shall we do a live and you can back up your claims in front of an audience... or will you run away... I'll pin your comment so people can see I'm "real deal" - let's see if you are!
I learned more in 20min from your video than in 1 year at my boxing gym...Much respect you're a great coach i will add all of this stuff to my habbits definitely so i can be more comfortable at sparrings. I subscribed and will stay tuned to learn more, thank you!
As there is bunch of shitty coaches after 3 day courses in the UK I'm from UKR currently in South West and have seen plenty of bull shit as technique in the UK is highly neglected. Poor eastern countries have more skilled fighters despite boxers can't afford even own gloves. Can't agree with this coach 100%. especially as for stance also lifting his heels and moving knee loosing central core and balance.
@@coenh8735 In the town that i live unfortunately it's the only one, i don't say my trainers are bad or something they just don't focus on correcting our form technique etc when that's the most important thing for me, all we have is crazy cardio training like i'm doing some fuckin crosfit lol
Went to a Thai high school for a semester as a17 yo. Thai kids probably learn this as soon as they can walk. American high schools lost Boxing as a sport probably since the 50s so by 1990 all I knew aggressively was American Football and weight lifting. It was the Tyson era and I had a pretty buff chest from bench pressing my own weight since middle school. So my fitness Ajarn (teacher) who was also the schools’ boxing coach taught me the ol 1, 2 combo but glanced over maybe 1/10 th of these Defense skills. He figured that I had Knock Out Power from overly developed chest muscles as Thai teenagers didn’t usually have. So with 3 or so weeks of “training” I was scheduled to go 3 rounds with a Thai student who already had 60 bouts experience versus my 0. Needless to say I got pummeled at the jab stage. My head was just a sped bag to him. I did my best to counter but I just tired myself out in a slugfest. His name is Wittaya and he was definitely more well versed and “witty” in boxing offense and defense techniques. The fight was called sometime near the end of the second round. I teared up thinking that I let my so called coach down. Sometime after that loss I realized that I literally had ZERO defense knowledge and what I had was left up to instinct. I wished YT was available back in the day. All the JKD books that I read up on by Bruce Lee didn’t prepare me enough for the ring. If Coach Charles was my Coach then he probably wouldn’t have let me fight until I got the drill s down pat. Now i’m50 and it’s been a life long question that is more or less FINALLY addressed in this wonderful and clearly explained video. Real Boxing just isn’t that available nor popular here in the US as it once was. ( corporate fitness type is though but they emphasize more the heart rate than real useful ring skills) such is life….
This is great! I can’t believe I haven’t come across this channel before. I really like your style. You are clear, concise, and don’t belabor the same thing over and over again, so you are able to cover more techniques and principles in a 20 min video than most other boxing channels could in 10 hours. This is extremely generous of you to share your knowledge so freely. Thank you my friend 🙏🏼
Excellent coaching skills, very articulate in describing the techniques while showing what your suppose to do. Wish I had ya as a boxing coach back in the day it would've explained a lot in 20 minutes than years of blowing wind in my ear. Well done Sir!
