Wow im so early haha. Great improvement, those heights are nice! Also love how you roll on the ground everytime you fell, since I just glides on ice and get my shirt all wet. Personally, concrete seems more scary than ice, since it is way easier to get scratches. I'm surprise you are not wearing gloves at all.

Concrete isn’t as hard as ice, but it is super rough like you said. Since I roll every time there isn’t any part of my body that’s actually sliding on the ground so I don’t get any scratches! And thank you! I’ve been grinding out these salchows.

1:30 That is an actual Salchow! Very good! You're talking about the "leverage itself instead of the swing leg". That's what I call the "Pole vault" effect. Your skating leg should not pre rotate 180°. It should only rotate to 90° so that becomes your "pole". At 180° the "pole" cannot convert the energy from momentum to spin, it will go to the wheels as rotation instead of being anchored and all you can do is a walz jump kinda jump. For your dobules you started pre rotating again. The solution is to think about a single but go with more speed and tuck yourself faster, now your "pole" will give you a lot more leverage to spin faster.

Thanks man! You’re right, it’s so hard not to pre rotate and to focus on speed and tucking, I need a lot more practice. I can feel the pole vault effect on some and I completely miss it on others. I should be a lot more consistent with the pre rotations by next week

It’s so cool watching you spin in the air. I’m more of a park skater but this definitely has me wanting to try some of these. Where do you start? Waltz jumps?
@SolidSkates
@SolidSkates 2 месяца назад
Yesss, waltz jumps were exactly where I started, and then I went straight to trying the single axel, which isn’t the right order, but starting with the waltz jump is the way to go. So are you an aggressive skater, or do you just prefer skating in parks/ramps and use regular inlines?

@@SolidSkatesquad skater at the skateparks. I have a pair of soft inlines I use for street sometimes but I feel most agile in my quads. You make agility look easy as hell in inlines tho. Definitely gonna try some waltz jumps though you’ve got me inspired for flat ground tricks

@@bebepastiche9105 having a rockered set up on inlines makes them feel way more agile, if you haven’t tried them out before you gotta see how it feels!

@@bebepastiche9105Quad skates are great for figure skating too! It's actually called artistic skating, but it's as similar as you can get. Of course there's a huge difference between cheap impalas and top tier roll lines, but for all the jumping you just need a tough plate and, for some of the jumps, good toe stops. I suppose your park skates fill these requirements. There's a video named something like "how to salchow | roller skate" that shows and explains the salchow using derby skates. The toe stopper is optional (and helpful) on the salchow, and the jumps that require the toe stop are are the Toeloop (also known as Mapes on rollers), Flip and Lutz.

Man leaning big spin jumps on the asphalt floor. I'm still hesitant to fully commit on a sprung wood rink. Falling over multiple times is just part of the process. It will all come together before long if you're putting this much effort into learning jumps. Still no video foorage of me i intended to get over the weekend. I go to the roller rink, talk too much and forget what i planned to do or try. Need to write notes on my wrist or something 🫣

@@MrGutterbunny ohh yeah my bad haha, I’ve never brought these skates into a rink before that just threw me off, I’ve been skating outdoors my entire skating lifetime, I’ve only been to rinks a couple times ever so it threw me off 😅

@@SolidSkates You will find everything so much easier on an indoor wooden rink. There's a real advantage to skating both in and outdoors. I'm looking forward to skating this weekend, getting some footage and, I also have a few jump ideas. A completely unconventional mix of Figure meets Aggressive styles. I just don't want to end up injured and not be able to skate at all. It isn't possible to avoid falls and injuries if you're pushing your boundaries so I'm keeping one eye on self preservation 🙏

@@MrGutterbunny let me know when you end up posting. Are you planning on doing some of these jumps off of ramps or ledges? I want to eventually do these jumps off of ledges or stairs but trying now would quick to injury

Why not use pads? Admittedly they are awkward but you'll take more chances knowing you have less chance of road rash and wrist injury.

@@billmcscotty6068 after falling many many times I don’t get any lasting injuries from flat ground falls. When I’m out on the street doing drops or downhilling is when I gear up. I am wearing knee pads in this video though!

Hi, first time viewer here. Have you tried the Endless ARC CS frames (its 5 wheels: 76, 68, 76, 68,76)? I have them and i believe that they are a lot better for inline figure skating that 4x80 wheel frames.
@SolidSkates
@SolidSkates 2 месяца назад
No I haven’t! I’ll check them out, what kind of boot do you ride?
@SolidSkates
@SolidSkates 2 месяца назад
I just looked on the endless website and I can’t believe they actually recommend them specifically for urban figure skating! The wheel base of the Arc cs is 292 and my current wheel base is only 243, I think you might be right about these frames being better than mine. I am a little concerned about how long they are though, my front wheel ends at my toe more similar to an ice blade, but I don’t have a toe pick so maybe it’s okay if it does stick out further
@laimeslacis_lv
@laimeslacis_lv 2 месяца назад
@@SolidSkates I have two setups: first is hardcore evo + endless arc trinity frames, its 316mm frame. And rollerblade crossfire boots with Endless ARC CS 165mm mount frames 292mm.

@laimeslacis_lv 2 месяца назад
@@SolidSkates I believe you definetelly should try out the endless arc cs. You will be able to land those jump with far more stability and ease.
