The triple lop was direct. The russians made connected steps before. As for the side by side triple toe lop. Technicly this was clearly inferior to the russians and this is even more true for artistry...they were a charming couple whereas the russians were just the most class couple. And there was a fall. 5.6 and 5.5. But 5.9 and 6.0 for’the russians
@@grantnoroyan9275 Not 'out of line' but certainly cynical .. like saying 'this program beautifully designed to cater to the judges' - It's undermining how wonderful B&S's program was and how well they had performed. Scott does this often, like when he's commentating skaters he prefers vs their competition - Evan over Johnny, Yuna over Mao etc... Sometimes not saying much about an amazing performance and gushing over another that is not as good says a lot about the commentator. The worst for me was their commentary of Mirai's long program at the 2014 US nationals.
Lmao, gotta love how Sandra cuts Scott off when he is talking about their shallow uninspired footwork "have to fill the ice in this footwork section--" Saundra: "WATCH HOW THEY DO THIS LIFT; COVERS THE FULL LENGTH OF THE RINK ---(unlike their footwork OOPS)."
These couple skates perfectly, no mistakes but bad coreography, Bad suits. The Russians are incredible skating. It's like watching Bolshoi on ice. Canadians took for granted that they deserved the gold medal because of Russians' mistake. I am no judge but, in my opinión, Russians were the best. Greetings grom Spain.
This choreography is superb! Clever and perfectly captured the character. Outfits were spot on. The Russians are the most gorgeous skaters, but that doesn't take away from this stellar performance (minus the fall).
@@Person-mh6xq It doesn't look like a continuous coreography, just some difficult spins with bad transitions in between so they can get in place for the next one.
The Russians are lovely skater, but they never add much change to their music or style, or even personality, while the Canadians were engaging and enjoyable to watch. Grinko and Gordeechev were beautiful Russian skaters who also included personality to their routines.
When you can't skate to a classically beautiful program, you have to find ways to present something interesting. That takes personality, I agree, but it's due to a lack of skill rather than an aesthetic choice. Case in point, Berezhnaya&Sikharulidze could have easily (and convincingly) skated to every single one of Salé&Pelletier's programs but not vice-versa. To say that Elena&Anton were not enjoyable to watch or that they had no personality is a big stretch (unless you weren't implying that, in which case, I apologise).
Watch the russian couple's exhibition Chaplin routine. They had plenty of personality, they just took the competition seriously. The Canadians used a gimmick with the love story theme and they claim that gimmick as one of the reasons they should have won, along with the "fact" that being canadian made them almost american.
omg Sandra... girl, "their demon trick this side-by-side triple toe loops and that's as good..... (realizing they're kinda off) as (oh, really off)... it (well I already started my bias gotta commit)... gets..(maybe they bought it)
