I'm a Saudi I went to Madain Saleh when I was 12 I've seen their place and I was lucky at the time to hear that new places has been discovered I asked my father how when they are Mountains he told me the sand was covering the mountains in some places and after a heavy rain the found many huge tombs and that the Mountain was deep and they found mummies in there and Gold and idols that what my father told me and about the place of punishment some say is was at alhijir but some says in Wadi Qura south Tabuk .

I visited thamuds city called Al-Ula. Absolutely amazing and makes you think and strengthens you faith. And yes, it's the same place Salih AS and his people used to live.

I see a parallel in modern times in how science keeps showing how more and more miraculous the universe is, yet some people keep growing more into disbelief

A disbeliever (kafir) in Quran does not mean anybody who is a none Muslim, it means a person who is fully aware that the message of Islam is true and deliberately hides and belies it. And those are always the people we see in these stories facing the wrath of Allah.

When I visited it, I had the strangest feelings ever I couldn't describe it. As if God well preserved their civilization for us to ponder.

The place they are showing on the screen is Petra in Jordan and another location in Saudi. Very similar style and architecture. I have been there and it's truly beautiful. You should visit Jordan. It's full of amazing history and culture. I'll be going this summer, again 🙂.

The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), when he passed by al-Hijr - which was the dwelling place of Thamood - said: “Do not enter the dwelling places of those who wronged~ themselves, lest there befall you what befell them, unless you are weeping.” Then he covered his head and hastened until he left the valley. Narrated by al-Bukhaari in his Saheeh from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him). And I heard that because Allah glory to him, the exalted, destroyed~ thamud people with a sound wave, their places and ruins contain a great amount of radiation~ till this day, which could cause cancer~ god forbids, Allah the almighty knows best.
