SALLY’s comments were to me hurtful towards a man who really had (by his own admission) a heart deep love for her since Smokey and the Bandit movie. She basically stated that Burt was delusional, what a bunch of liberal loon mentality!! Men and Women are both physically and mentally different. How can she know how much she truly meant to Burt seeing as she left him. Women are genetically delusional especially those working in liberal Hollywood!! Women always blame men about relationship issues as they can never be blamed ;but that is just female hormones manipulating female brain synopsis!
A case where Burt's ego is what Burt hated and Sally was the one strong enough to keep his ego in check and keep him grounded enough to be somewhat normal and stable.....that's why Burt loved Sally Fields side note: my dad was Sally Field's milkman back in the late 70s through the early 80s
I know we all hate to judge, and obviously Burt Reynolds was an alpha ladies man, but he seemed in the end like a pretty decent guy who liked making movies and obviously loved women. But it sounds like you really did care about Sally Fields. She could have at least respected him to some degree, even just being friendly and realizing that people make mistakes. For her to talks smack about him after he died was just straight-up rude and there was no need for that. There's a point where you have to keep your activism out of your private life.
Hello again Facts Verse 👋 I just found out that Smokey And The Bandit is coming back to movie theaters this summer for the 45th anniversary. I hope that it comes close to me because this is one of my all time favorite movies. Thank you for another great video Tim and I hope you and your subscribers have a wonderful day.
Think I`d really enjoy that at tyhe cinema, wish I could have seen it at tyhe cinema in 1977 and pick up on tyhe buzz at tyhe time, but I was only 1 years old and first got to see it on TV when I was around 6 and I loved it, 10-4 bandit.
@@markant9534 I actually saw it at the movies when I was a kid with my parents. Of course I didn’t understand some of the things until I saw it again when I got older. It’s really neat to watch it on the big screen.
when you are in love with yourself stuck on your self, , and it's all about you , , one afair to many , one after another. how the Hell can you know what love is , Alone again
In any relationship there is going to be one person who has stronger feelings than the other. If Burt felt that strongly about his feelings for her he had 30 years to correct his behavior towards SF if it was that important the fact that he didn’t is just what it is.
I also believe Burke loved her. You just don’t say that on your deathbed. I find it odd that they both kind of voice around the same time and maybe he was hoping that he would end up back with Sally. You never know. He just couldn’t find another Sally Field’s.😢
I was shocked to find out Burt had no bio children. Only just 1 adopted son. You would think a massive womanizer like him would've at least had some bio children
According to Loni Anderson's book, the doctor told her that Burt had low sperm count and when Loni let Burt know that, he refused to try to get it fixed so they adopted.
Well she is not all that. She should shut her mouth because he isn't here to defend his self. She is very ungrateful in my eyes.Burt was a nice man and I refuse to hear negative things about Burt. I don't care if nobody likes what I say. I still say she is ungrateful and he is not here to defend himself.
you know what? this is just someone reading a bunch of text to us... it is not Sally Fields showing us anything... here we have video and sound but it is only being used to run a slide show and read a bunch of innocuous speculation. goodbye. your type is ruining you tube.
Little known fact about Loni Anderson, her publicity people got her to wear a Canadian Airborne Regiment maroon t-shirt as she steps out of a swimming pool. She was an honorary colonel for this regiment of paratroopers.
Ruins Smokey and the bandit as I thought their chemistry was real and Burt turned out to be a wierdo instead of the carefree bandit, pretty pathetic really, RIP anyway.
What the f....? Has any here actually READ Sally's memoir? Because I have and Burt Reynolds was a lifelong drug addict and very volatile and controlling. She's a remarkable woman and he is a cautionary tale.
I'm disappointed to hear Sally say things like " losing my identity". That's such a feminist thing to say, and I hate that stuff. I didn't watch the whole interview, but I bet at some point she used the term "empowered". And " imbalance of power". Dreary.
Or it's just someone who's taking accountability for their actions, we all lose our identity because we lose it as children when our parents brainwash it out of us. They don't even realize they're doing it either. We repeat the patterns of childhood, the social conditioning, as to what makes us accepted ...over and over until we wake up
I always wondered about Sally's side of the story. "Sally wasn't sexy". Really?!?!? I'm sure a lot of people would disagree about that. I lived not to far from Jupiter FL. where Burt used to live and I knew some people that owned a restaurant where Burt, and Loni came in to inquire and order their wedding banquet to be held that weekend with Burt's friends Dom Deluise, and Charles Nelson Reily in tow. It was definitely a surprise thing. Of course there were a few stories like Loni refusing to even date Burt when they first met because he "wasn't a big enough star" and a few others I'm not going to post about. In the end marrying Loni was probably the biggest mistake he ever made.
i think Sally is dismissing his final words as to how much he valued his relationship with her, as just "flights of fancy". doesnt change the fact he may REALLY have felt that way..her saying he overvalued their pairing, on HER side, may be entirely true. but, on HIS side, it may not have.. its all conjecture...
Get the facts straight. "Sally Field wasn't all that far into her career.." Really? She was an old pro by the time she & Burt hooked up. In the 1960's she had starred in "Gidget" & "The Flying Nun".
Many of us grow wiser as we experience life. Burt Reynolds may have truly regretted how he handed his relationship with Sally Field during his younger days. His statement may have been the best way he could apologize for his actions. It's to bad Burt Reynolds ran out of time and never had a heart to heart talk with Sally Field. This is a lesson we should all learn and let those who matter know they matter.
There was no discussion of the child development and abuses Sally underwent prior to Burt that made her susceptible to a controlling figure, but also, as her other marriages suggest, not the most self-aware and stable partner. In the end, it is likely that Sally needed to find herself and it took her whole life and her independence to feel secure about herself and life generally.
How cruel people are! I believe that Burt really loved Sally, not because she was "the one who got away" and his ego was hurt by it, but because he really did love her. Take the man's words at face value; they were his deathbed confession, and deathbed confessions are recognized by the courts as truthful statements.
Why do people waiting someone dies then start talking bad about them. She should have released her nook while he was still alive, let him defend himself.
She (Sally) got a lot of publicity, interviews, etc. when Burt died, she's full of convoluted stories about him, smiling and making bank from someone's death
Never been a huge Sally Field fan to begin with. Taking private matters public shows poor taste, lack of self respect, and immaturity. Too many people make too much of their relationships and their problems too public. She comes off as no less an asshole than Burt could be.
I agree but I remember when he told Piers Morgan Sally was still the love of his life on a British TV show during an interview and felt it did come off as creepy and indulgent.
Alan, I agree. There are just some things that should not be publicly talked about. These "stars" are publicity hounds and will do or say anything to see their names in papers or on on tv.
The flying nun was a good show I watched as a kid. Reynolds’s talent was acting. He really never got the right parts. He could’ve done so much more. Fields in my opinion now, is a wacko. She waits until he’s dead and did all this. I no longer care what she says or does. I don’t believe anything she says about Burt Reynolds.
Burt had her, he had a lot more women than the ones the World knows of, He couldn't have Sally and that's what crushed his heart, He could have any woman he wanted in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, he proved that, RIP to 1 of the greatest actors EVER
Most surprising thing to me was how many women Burt asked them to marry him and they said "no." Burt was a very attractive and sexy man, but a little to arrogant in my opinion.
The worst thing about Burt was he had no business skills--he blew through millions as if the money would always come pouring in. He died broke--its always fun to beat a man when he's down.
@@marjoriegarner5369 I agree, Facts Verse is full of it and are haters of Conservatives. There disgusting lies about John Wayne , Jimmy Stewart and anybody else who doesn't fit their Radical left garbage .
Women don't need men as much as men need women....because God made women for men not the other way around....the need to have a strong mate is built inside of every man....sorry ladies, sometimes we do not appreciate you and we squander those opportunities & relationships...sometimes we can take you for grant it
Absolutely. Handsome celebrities like Burt just have way too many options, plus he had a horn-dog personality. No way Burt would have ever remained faithful to Sally and she knew it. But you're right, a guy only gets about 1 or 2 chances to marry a quality woman in his lifetime, regardless of his status and looks. A man's ego and sexual appetite are often his demise.
Hahaha, Reynolds helped her get started in her career then she dumps him, as Sally says life is like a box of chocolate you never know what your gonna do next or some crap like that.
In the end we all grow old and then we die. The things of the World are really quite insignificant. The world is not our home. While we are here let us hope to be a good person the best way we can.
Burt saw something special in Sally that he didn’t see in any of his many other love’s. Unfortunately, Sally didn’t feel the same way. She may have loved him at one point, but it seemed to have faded or passed after or maybe even before their break up. He seems like he was most likely too conservative and old fashion for her. It’s a shame that he went to his deathbed with that dreadful feeling of never having the love he so truly wanted. And Her feeling he was “delusional” is unfortunate, however she has the right to feel that way. I somehow feel that in his heart of hearts he did feel something big about her and felt regret on how he handled the relationship. I guess it just was never meant to be.
Weird to hear people rip on an ex so long after they've split. Even being with an ass teaches you something you need to learn about yourself, and that's something to quietly value
Strange that for years, Reynolds had stated Dinah Shore was the love of his life. I remember he saying his friends told him she was too old for him. Always admired Sally Field, and she was wonderful in "Lincoln".
The most surprising thing I learned was that Dinah turned down his proposal because she apparently knew she was going to receive a cancer diagnosis some 20 years later.
Showbiz relationships are never what they appear on screen. Hollywood has a way of making us think the they are for real, but the truth can be very different. Sally Fields part in Smokey and the Bandit helped make the film a great success, and their onscreen romance appeared real. Now we know the truth, you need to hear both sides of a romance to know how it realy was. Excellent video, thanks for revealing the truth.🙂👍
I Closer magazine he said that Dinah Shore was the love of his life. Burt really wanted kids and Dinah didn't so that's what broke them up, or so I herd. This video is a bit old as Sally's last acting roll was in the movie 80 for Brady.
I think burt & sally were great together. I love both of them. So srry they couldn't make it as a couple. I think burt was to much of a lady's man ( or he thought).inlove both Sally & burt. I do believe Sally was the one who got away & I think burt wanted her cause he knew he couldn't have her ( my opinion only) So srry we lost burt he was a great actor & a handsome man. I also think Jerry read & Jackie Gleason made the show smokey & the bandit. Loved the movie R.I.P Burt Reynolds & Jackie Gleason & Jerry Reed.
How could anyone say that Sally isn't beautiful enough for her role in Smoky and the Bandit? She was always pretty and seems to be getting more beautiful with age.
Sally held her grudge against Bert till the day he died. She denied Burt's feelings for her and wouldn't talk to him even though he tried to contact her several times as he grew sicker. I love Sally, she's a great actor but that was cold... (and she didn't wait until Bert died before she wrote her book trashing him. She wrote and published it while he was old and sick. He just happened to die shortly before it was released.)
exactly!! She is classless. Its here pride and ego. SHE likes to be in control, not Burt. The man was ill for many years(BAD BACK). All he wanted was to be loved in kind by her and she ignored him. The man is dead and she cant wait 2 fling mud. She is full blown activist these days and lost her way. I dont think she wants to be loved by men. I don't think she ever knew how to show love in return. Its not in her DNA I guess.
@@armymomheatherc 👆this. I've seen her interviews and such, she is definitely a feminist and I'm not sure where she stood back then, but I saw an article on people magazine where it said that she is 49 and "free of trying to make a man happy". I mean she had two failed marriages and now she wants to bash men? She is literally a product of her era, the bra-burning type. Sad to see.
Really? Picture yourself in Sally’s shoes, that your ex kept proclaiming things that weren’t true. Do you keep silent for THEIR ego or do you try to keep your own foundation strong by telling the truth? I vote TRUTH. Burt was a fragile, ego driven person. It would be damaging to your own sense of self to declare what YOU have no memory of. Burt had no capacity for insight or introspection separate from his persona.
Nothing surprises me about Helly wood they just use one another to get the next part like they say they are actors you never know the real person good we don’t
Contrary to popular belief many people really really really really really really DON'T like Sally Field... or her left-wing radical liberal Democrat politics.
THE TRUTH FROM A RELATIONSHIP EXSPERT & BIOLOGIST. Instinctively woman are incredibly hypergamous. Meaning they have a biological need to relationship up. This biological instinct is designed to find the best partner to assure the survival of offspring, to assure the survival of our species. Bert was the bigger star & made more money. However he was financially irresponsible & lost most of his net worth. Sally was also a successful star, only she is a conservative spender & maintained her net worth. Rich younger woman don't marry poor older men, as that's against a woman's biological instinct. That's hypergamy & she is Instinctively a woman.
Sally Field’s having been the most difficult to obtain put Burt Reynolds into a situation where he put her on a pedestal _(so-to-speak)_ it wasn’t so much that she was _the one that got away_ as much as she’d made the personal decision that Burt as a Partner was a dead-end & would limit her ability to expand as an artist, as an actress & as a person…
How strange ... would'nt it devalue her self worth to say that Burt did not really love her for her but for her not agreeing to marry him ? I think she's hurt by the fact that Burt slept with other women while with her .... but she's probably right not to marry Burt, he's a sexy magnet for many women being one of the physically most attractive men of his time, and he's very outgoing ..... its going to be a life of jealousy and betrayal with such men frankly ... even if he did love her, he may not be able to control himself when other women hit on him .....
He should have married Dinah Shore and adopted children together ... He ended up adopting in the end, anyway. He and Dinah had something special together ... I think ... and she seemed to really care for him ...
Where did the information come from about Burt proposing to Dinah Shore? That was the most surprising content that I found in this video. I read Burt Reynolds Autobiography and his relationship ended with Dinah because he desperately wanted to have a child. Dinah had already raised her children with her former husband.
I'm 60 and grew up loving Burt...Smokey and the Bandit was one of my all favorites...Sally was a sweetheart...I dont think she should be talking Bad of a Dead Legend...Burt was a lifetime playboy..Sally knew that...Women Love badboys.
I believe the love of his life was Dinah Shore. They were going to get married, until Burt wanted to adopt a child. Dinah thought she was at an age that she didn’t want to raise another child. Another reason she said no was that she had cancer.
I think you did another one before on Sally & Burt Reynolds, didn’t you?! Anyway, none of this was too much of a surprise to me!!! That is very sad about both of them and then about them being married before and both getting divorces, both on the same day as the other!!! Very sad about Burt’s unrequited love from Sally!!! Thank you very much for the as usual very good video with your great voice and delivery, etc.!!! 👌❤️👏✋💐👍
I absolutely love Sally Field! I loved Burt's movies, as well. Loved them in Smokey and the Bandit. It sounds like he was more invested in their relationship than she was, as time went on. Thank you!! 😃
