I've made several of your recipes and all my friends are impressed. I really appreciate you taking the time to do these videos. The techniques I can keep for a lifetime so I think you're awesome.
Thank you! It's always awesome to know people like you are out there re-creating the food in my videos and most importantly sharing it with friends :) dsb188
I'm a certified sushi addict since the first time I ever tasted it. Aaaand salmon is life, I once literally cried because of salmon. You are so awesome I love how detailed you are, you make everything look so simple and delicious. :)))
There is a sushi roll I like at a local restraint that is not on their menu so idk if it has a name but it is: cooked salmon and an avavado slice rolled in sushi rice surrounded by seaweed, then tempura fried and covered in 2 lines of sauce, 1 Unagi sauce and 1 spicy orange sauce. It's super tasty!! And my favorite sushi but idk the name so I always have to explain it to the waiter.
Hmmm.. i think my "Salmon Dream" came true!! An delicious piece of sushi, ready to make.. im really gonna try this out huh?! How about YOU :) Thanks chef!!
Anybody else noticed there is an "a" missing in the "Japanese Plates" link in the top left corner? Anyway, great video, I love your channel since you got me into making my own sushi!
rparker069 I was having a good time then I come down to the comment section and my face turned into the physical representation of "Fuck this shit!" XDXD
How come every single ura-maki roll that I make falls apart easily even though I think I press it so hard? Please, answer if you can. Thanks in advance, thansk for your all videos as well! Wish you all the best, cheers!
Hi Devyn, although I sell the knives I use through my website www.boxsor.com I'm going to advise you to not buy some high-end knives, instead get yourself a whet-stone and teach yourself how to sharpen knives really well, even a cheap knife will get pretty sharp using a whet-stone, although it will not hold its edge for every long so you will have to sharpen it regularly. Here is a video I made to show how to sharpen a knife on a whet-stone: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rTKV5-ZSWcE.html good luck Devyn Perry
Amazing salmon sushi roll. I am not sure if I have asked this in the past but can you make a brown rice sushi? The only way I get it to work is with over cooked brown rice. Would love to know if you have a version. Thank you :)
With Half a sheet of Nori the roll is too small in my opinion . I like the idea of only using half a sheet because you get twice as many rolls, but the finished product is small and underwhelming..when you buy sushi at a restaurant the diameter of the roll is large. I think maybe I need to use a full sheet or Nori.. what do you think about this ?
I've never eaten sushi or raw anything really. Does it taste as delicious as it looks? Only thing is It doesn't look very filling :D It looks like something I'd eat as a snack
The FDA suggests to freeze most fish to be used in sushi making to kill any possible parasites that may live in the fish. Salmon though is one of the safest fish when it comes to parasites since basically all of it is farmed so they get antibiotics against such things. Regarding bacteria you should make sure your fish is fresh and handled hygienically and correctly refrigerated. +stavroula himonetos
I got mine from Japan, they are hard to find online but someone on facebook was able to find a source: korin.com/Nonstick-Sushi-Rolling-Mat its a different color but the same mat. Really good quality, the very best plastic mat (I should know I have 3 not so good ones) SkyYun999
So sad, I don't enjoy shrimps, just going to replace it with something else I guess! Also, this video looked like faster than the others, more fast paced. I don't know if it was intentional or not. And sorry for being picky, but "Japanese Plates" was spelled wrong as "Japnese Plates".
Damn, that spelling mistake slipped by me... Yes I try and make the videos faster and hopefully better. If you still batter and fry it the same way you could substitute the shrimp with anything really, even a strip of fish. Pedro Willadino
not all, you would need salmon that is as fresh as possible, most grocery store salmon will be at a late stage, although that does depend on where you live.
These days much of the fish we eat is flash frozen when it is caught, there are some providers that will keep the fish frozen at -60ºC and the quality is surprisingly good. *****
You do in Spanish and since I learnt 3 main languages when growing up (also english and dutch) I pronounce some things differently... I don't think it matters since you were not confused and understood I was talking about the fish.
