We have zero fishing experience and thought it'd be a great idea to go salmon fishing in Alaska for the first time - by ourselves. This should go well...
We quickly find out salmon fishing in Alaska is NOT as easy as people say it is. There are some things you need to know.
After a few days of fishing in the cold waters of the Kenai River in Soldotna, Alaska, we finally catch or "floss" a few big salmon for dinner! We share what we learned along the way to spare you the big learning curve. Join us as we cook our catch over a fire with the incredible Alaskan wilderness as our backdrop.
If you enjoyed this video, or found it helpful for your fishing trip to Alaska, please give it a "like". Please consider subscribing to our channel. We are Nick and Julie and we travel full time in our truck camper. We'd love to have you! Thank you! Have a great week!

going thru yall's Alaskan videos. Nice job editing, content, music & commentary. The 1 minute intro to this video was great. And Nick's comment about looking the part while fishing is classic. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Doesn't look like a Pink. Great job on catching them. Few things better than fresh salmon on an open fire by the river. It's better than any salmon you will get in any restaurant in the world.

Yeah that looked like a silver (coho) You are probably lucky it wasn’t a wild king or you might be looking at a fine.

No video of the catch or clean and fillet so it didn't happen 😊. Just kidding.....just found your channel and watched a few videos and subbed. An Alaska trip is a dream of mine. Just got myself a truck camper and started doing some local trips for now but hoping to do some traveling soon.

Yea we completely failed on that part 😂 we gave up filming after catching nothing for days 😅 but made up for it with the cooking segment 😁 that’s exciting, congrats on the truck camper! It opens up a whole new world of travel. Hope you get to do an Alaska trip. Maybe next summer?? 🤔

It's disappointing that you left a bunch of hooks in the food chain. I'm guessing that's at least 3 otters, 2 bears, a bald eagle, and 5 seagulls with hooks in their guts. I think you should have gotten a guide.

Probably should have gotten a guide. It would have saved us so much time and a learning curve.
