hello dennis, I am glad you are back! It really is a shame we lose some energy as we age, but I do believe the experiences we gain make up for it and I believe that you at 73 years young have most definetly gained many and along with them skills such as your cooking and also some friends personal and maybe online, and I bet you brighten everyones days with your stories. I remember you telling the story in your previous salmon jerky video of first coming across salmon jerky. I think it was beautiful, how you portrayed your uncle in that story and it looks as though you saw him as one of those friends. Now, we don't exactly know each other, but every once in a while I come and visit you in your kitchen. must say, I haven't watched all of your videos, but have those that I was interested in (there are many of them), and you always give me the feeling of talking to a friend. 73 years, still kicking ass as they say. good luck in your future endevours and if you have to slow down, we will completely understand and respect you, as you are one hell of a man.
Thanks for the encouragement and positive feedback on my videos. Slowing down is inevitable, but I agree with you - the growth of wisdom as we age makes up the difference. -Dennis
Dennis! How fabulous to see a cooking video from you! The salmon jerky looks really delicious. We quite often make venison jerky, but next time- salmon!
When i read your blog about the new dehydrator i thought, “I hope dennis does a demo video on this” - and you did!!!! This dehydrator seems to be the cadillac of them all. And i loved your idea of trying chicken stock - of course I’m hoping you will try that soon (and maybe share with your fans the results)!!!!!
Thanks Nancy. Yes, that new dehydrator is a beauty. However, as you'll see in Sunday's blog, I might have developed a fish allergy late in life. After making the jerky I was pink and bumpy and itchy all over. It's going away, thankfully. -Dennis
@MobileHomeGourmet : Great recipe. Thanks for sharing. Brod and Taylor is a bit pricey but I've just searched and the poly tray version of the dehydrator is on sale for $199.00. They offer silicone tray liners as an accessory, so I see no reason parchment would not work also.
hi, dennis - i just finished reading your blog. So, so sorry about the major problems that Vine security camera has caused, especially with your tablet. Such a helpless feeling when it became apparent that it would be impossible to relocate all the apps you have come to rely on. And there doesn’t even seem to be a clear path forward to fix things now. Sometimes I REALLY hate technology!!!!!!
