Great video! You mention other boards similar but more suited to icy riding. Could you please list some? Also will you do a comparison to other boards like the gremlin? Thank you!
Thanks! I compared the Dancehaul to the Gremlin, Lib-Tech Orca and YES Hybrid here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tCGHJd86qxg.html which should help now that you watched this and know the difference between the Dancehaul Pro and Dancehaul from this vid. You can also go to thegoodride.com/snowboard-reviews/?mens=1 and sort by edge hold to find similar boards that grip better like the Gremlin, Hybrid and Orca.
Two somewhat similar and one very different board. Very hard to recommend one knowing absolutely nothing about you. Biru- If you want a hard carver that's the choice. Dancehaul Pro- If you want the most pop Singular- You don't want a short wide, want an all mtn board, don't see a lot of pow but want an amazing board for uneven snow. If you want to get into it more hit me here to give me the info I need to help you much better. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
What size board for the Pro do you think of when seeing these stats? I’ll take it with a grain of salt. 5’9 170lb US9 shoe size Thanks and great video?
152 is a great fit and go 154 if you want to carve harder and get more float but at the expense of easier turn initiation/control in uneven snow or tight spots. Thanks
Good review , I bought one hoping it would be good in poor conditions looks like it’s the opposite lol What board would you recommend for ice, wet snow, lumpy crud etc as this is mainly what we get when away, All mtn freestyle , side hits. park. Etc everything but off piste . I thought capita indoor survival possibly Thanks
Thanks! Yeah unfortunately most "Pro"/"Ultra"/"Plus" models are worse in uneven snow because that is the price you pay for more pop that you get with carbon and lighter materials. The Indoor Survival is a very different board and better but far from ideal for uneven snow riding. If you want to get into it more hit me here to give me the info I need to actually help. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/ Based on what I know of you it would just be a wild ass guess. One board you might like instead if it fits your specs is the Amplid Souly Grail or Surfari or even the Singular. They handle uneven snow like a champ.
Hi! I just got a 147 dancehaul, I weigh 160 pounds but have US10.5 size feet. I'm worried it might be too narrow for my feet size even though it is supposed to fall in range. What do you think, should I switch it for a 152? Or will it be too big for my weight as it's meant to be ridden a bit shorter than your standard board? (Which are 153 and 152) Oh, and im also 5'9ft. Thanks in advance!
@@thegoodridesnow I mainly ride a 153 Salomon craft which I use in and off piste and into the park as well as down alpine back country in the Alps and the pirenees. It actually fits me well, but I was looking for something more directional that could handle powder.
Yeah thats a pretty small ride for you and what you do with it. On paper, the 156 Craft would be a better call for your specs and so would the 152 Dancehaul but it all comes down to personal preference so the 147 might be a better fit for you. Your 10.5 US boots would like the 152 a lot better but if you ride really duck, don't carve hard and don't ride super steep terrain maybe the 147.
do you think there would be much to gain from going up to the 154? I'm a couple lbs heavier, but also 5'10". I ride a 152 dancehaul and have a blast on it. I like my board in all conditions, but I want a bit more float. I have a dedicated pow board already, but I'm thinking for those days I'm traveling somewhere and weather/conditions are going to be mixed. I went to a resort last year on a 10" day, but they do a ton of grooming. So I reached for my DH. It did fine in the pow, but once or twice in flatter sections, the nose dipped and I went over the front end. Pow board would have handled that fine, but would have been less fun on the groomers. especially as they firmed up throughout the day.
@@thegoodridesnow Nope. Just on reference with adjustment for stance width. I don't generally reach for this board on pow days. Only if I'm traveling somewhere and a pow board is not really an option because the forecast is mixed.
@@thegoodridesnow thanks for the feedback. I always enjoy your reviews. It swayed me into buying a Burton Kilroy a couple years ago and it was spot on.
Looking at the Dancehaul pro or Korua transition finder . 185 size 12 boot. Full all rounder with great turning and ability to pop off evwrything is the MO. What would you choose? Thanks
What is your weight? Need all three to even guess. If you want to do this correctly hit me here. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/ . If you want a short answer go Transition Finder if you want to carve and what a more directional/tapered feeling ride thats better in uneven snow. Go Dancehaul Pro if you want a more centered feeling short/wide that pops super easy and you mainly see good conditions.
Yeah it's between the 157 Dancehaul Pro and 157 or 160 Transition Finder. Again go for the TF if you like a stiffer/harder carving board that's better in uneven snow. Go Dancehaul Pro if you want something more playful and softer but still very poppy.
You the man. Thank you kindly. Heard the newer TFs are a bit softer now they are from different factory. gonna try with flux xf and some new old stock nike kaiju @@thegoodridesnow
