She reminds me of a school girl in her first job. Many simply doesn't understand that doing things half-assed on the job actually has consequences, unlike at school or most homes.

​@@360_bratat a small salon, yes it is the easiest job in the world. She's not a receptionist for a huge company; all she has to do is pick up the phone, welcome the clients and schedule the appointments. And again, it's a small salon, it's not like they get calls non stop.

@@AppleSofi notice how i said "being a receptionist" and not "being a receptionist at a small salon"? i've been a manager, a consultant, a professional writer, a cashier, RETAIL, and i'm telling you, being a receptionist was one of the shittiest jobs i ever worked.

I am thinking bipolar.. The highs and lows, swinging so fast. Not a bad person, but in a conflicted situation, she would probably benefit from medication, just to tone down the highest and lowest levels, so she would have more control over her own emotions. (Not to make her feelings flat, just to have better control over the highs and lows)

I would be upset if a business hung up on me, it's unprofessional and rude. And most of all it's losing Customers and Money.

I don’t get it either I was 17 and working in customer service roles I even got employee of the month several times for my customer service skills it’s hard to figure out

In all fairness - and I've done office management where I can be answering the phone, doing the VAT return and reporting to the Finance Director in another country (all versions of which you'll have experienced; the minutiae changes but it's all the same juggling!) - it was both an odd set-up and she received conflicting instructions. Tabitha told her to mouth something to the waiting customer whilst the owner told her to greet the physical customer and put the caller on hold. And it was an odd set-up. The phone needs to be in front of you, not tucked around a corner. My first rule of training littlies is that telephone lights will tell you what's going on and you keep picking up those callers until every one is routed. You can't do that without the phone in your direct sightline. It's not difficult but like anything, it needs training and practice. In a single-handed role such as a salon it's far better to pay a little bit more for someone already trained in the basics - each of us have probably been in situations where you're training someone and you divert calls over a certain point so they don't get overwhelmed, but you can't do that in a situation like this. And she had no interest in learning or in keeping the customer happy. I'll take all the time in the world to train someone who genuinely wants a happy customer but if they don't care it's a pointless exercise. Nice is more important than competence in CS every time, at least from my pov. I wish call-centre employees got better treatment and more respect because those who do it well are a serious asset to any firm.

Same, I’ve worked in real estate as a property manager and covered the reception role at the same time as well as sales support and still been friendly

That's how the 80s eyebrow style was, we plucked and plucked, now most my age have Cosmetically tattooed eyebrows, I love mine, they look better than the thin line. 😂

I'm anxious (social anxiety), but i know that you CAN'T hanging up on someone WHILE greeting somebody else. I think she's really oblivious and passive agressive. Even when Tabatha told her MANY times to tell the client irl (with whispers and gestures of course) to wait a lil bit before going with them, Janice still does it!! It's very disrespectful, rude and inacceptable!

Ask everyone in your business to go home and watch one season of Tabatha, and then ask them: “what would Tabatha say about this business?” . That is how you get the same effect as if she really had been there. It is consequently about the leaders needing to lead, the leaders needing to educate and inspire, and the leaders implementing rules and consequences. And of course getting your business into this century.

You know what, I’ve been through menopause (until wonderful HRT!). There are loads of horrible symptoms, but they are not an excuse for crying and whingeing over every bloody thing

Not really an excuse. Thousands manage or seek help. I think when this was filmed it wasn't commonplace to get help or seek answers. But if you're that emotional then help might be required.
