We went last October and it was 27-31'C the entire time and was very quiet. It's end of season. However the week previous had been stormy so there were alot of mosquitos.
This October, we went to an area between Valencia and Barcelona, and the first two weeks were great, with nice weather for swimming and enjoying the sun. But really, nothing is guaranteed since it is the end of the season, and it can also be cloudy and rainy.
Platja Llevant is biggest city beach, (1min 26 sec on video), could get crowded in summer. Platja llarga is most likely least crowded but smaller beach at the edge of Salou area (1 min 17 sec on video) Platja dels cappelans is the one that is surrounded by hotels and cliff (1min 48 sec) You can also go to nearby town of La Pineda, it has nice long beach. This video is from april/may so there is not much people around but you can expect much much more now on beaches. Safe trip and enjoy sea time.

Je viens de passé 2 jours en plein mois d'août 😢 super heureux de partir de cette ville de merde ou tu peux pas te garé avec ta voiture aucune place pour les voitures sans compter un sentiment d'insécurité avec toutes les racailles de toutes l'Europe venus en bandes près a foutent la merde . Une ville sans âme que du béton et des hôtels 😮 . Une ville chère a tous les niveaux des plages bondé même pas un coin pour posé ta serviette ma pire expérience pour mon passage en Espagne 😢 je déconseil vivement a fuire
I was once in August in Salou, so I can confirm, beaches can get pretty crowded since there is big influx of tourists during peak holiday weeks. Since I also dislike crowded beaches I come back next time during off season and it was very relaxing and nice and I enjoyed my time walking next to the sea, visiting Barcelona for day trip, Tarragona, walking to Cambrils, eating, drinking... it all comes to what people like and in what phase of life someone is.... I like my peace now....

Je déconseille aussi la France la Côte d’Azur à fuir aussi ça pue la popo de chien dans toutes les rues de Nice et les petit plages sont hyper sales en été à fuir et mil fois plus cher que la Espagne des immigrants ilya de partout . Au moins en Espagne les plages sont plus grand que les petits à saint jean cap Ferrat villefranche et compagnie …
