I love the PRACTICALITY of his recipe! So much at this size or this, 2 of this pepper, or 1 of that! Someone Actually TEACHING us how to use the recipe!
having the soap gene sucks, I always wondered what the hype was about for the herb that makes my favorite mexican dishes taste like they took a dunk in some dishwater.
If the salsa is sour/bitter it’s because you overcooked the tomatillo, so I guess if they were gonna overcook with the residual heat then that would work.
Your pusheen shirt!! I love this popped in my feed, i have a bunch of tomatillo plants and was thinking i need some easy salsa recipes to use all my future tomatillos
As a fellow chef, I really love your videos. You make really good food, but your excitement to share your food is what makes me love to watch. It’s the same reason I get excited to cook for my friends.
I wanted to do it the correct way,I love❤ your channel!! Thank you✨️. You also explain where people understand & tips how to clean herbs or veggies!!❤🎉❤🎉😅. Hugs. ❤🎉❤🎉!!
You could also roast it which gives a better flavor and makes the heat from the peppers really pop. Roasting is anything high like 400°, and you only need to do it til the tomatillos are soft enough and have some browning or charring
That’s how I do my salsa verde. I don’t have a molcajete so I boil my chiles tomatillos garlic onion all together then I put everything in the blender and add cilantro and seasoning. It comes out good 😊
@@anthonystaton3740 I know it usually has chicken broth in it. Also I just realized the original commenter might be vegan and that’s why they were concerned about it lol
For some people it tastes like soap 😅 It's apparently a genetic thing wether you are able to taste the soap taste or not. If even a bit cilantro is added the whole meal is ruined for me🙃
The cilantro gene also makes it so you have to tell everyone you have the cilantro gene. If i dont yell loudly that it tastes like soap how will you know that im quirky and different? 🤓
Yeah, when there is cilantro around I try to make it clear that I do not want it touching my food. I wish I liked it, though. People seem to never get enough of it.@@aria9330
I wish I wasn't "quirky" and different in this way, I don't know about you, but i'm not a huge fan of my food tasting like someone poured dish soup in it... I do love the smell of cilantro though ❤
It's funny but I'm vietnamese and we add cilantro in everything, so I grew up loving it, associating it to tasting good. Then one day in my teenage years, people told me it tastes like soap, and im like "hmm yeah I can kinda see it" but it's too late, my brain is wired to love it, lol.
I just made this recipe its absolutely delicious! I added lime juice and zest at the end for a little kick I can't stop eating it lol it's seriously amazing
I've used the same ingredients, but gave them a brush of olive oil, then broil them in the oven til they get charred on all sides, then into the blender. Delicious!
This is one of the better videos of somebody making a salsa verde in english, and if you can find some tomatillos that is turning purple, it can be green and purple at the same time, will taste better
Nah tomatillos need to be added once the water is boiling, and just let them sit for 3 minutes, more than that they will become bitter, and for a salsa verde you need like 8 jalapeños, why tf would you only use 2 if they are not spicy.
