I have had my tickets responded to within 24 hours, for the same issue people have been waiting weeks if not months to get fixed, its better customer support and more leniency in what you request of them.
i mean if you go over 10k you can go into the ingame "million miles high club" that's really something to keep paying towards (and for the extra stupid, yes this was meant as a sarcastic joke )
@@marcosdheleno He was more honest about things and generally more up to speed about the state, but def bending the reality for certain parts. Especially in regards to when they can have a polished release with majority of the promises implemented in a working state. A year away is not realistic at all. Three to four years is way more likely (at best). Still think the next year will be interesting in terms of having a more playable state with decent QoL and less jank.
@@TyrHeimdal have you ever watched gundam? because ANYONE who has watched ANY gundam series can tell you, his comparison? MAKES NO SENSE. that alone was proof to me, that he was talking nonsense. and he lost all credibility to me after that. and as someone who has done what he said, but in warframe, he sounded less like a player, who enjoys the game, and more like a drug dealer who was handing "free samples" of crack with "no strings attached" near a school. dude genuinely sounded like SC is the most perfect game to ever exist with no flaws, and anyone with any disagreement, is just wrong.
@@TyrHeimdalthe second guy was crazy when he said it's like Vegas and thinks the only people who gamble are responsible gamblers with the means to do so. He's definitely trying to put the situation in a better light than it actually is. Casinos are pure degeneracy preying on gambling addicts. Most of their income doesn't come from super whales. Casino income mostly comes from retired/semi retired seniors who's blowing their pension every month in a way that's beyond their means. Star Citizen is probably funded by dudes without wives in their parents' basement. At least the majority. At the end of the day if you don't interact with the predatory sales tactics then it's indeed not predatory. But if you do buy all this stuff and then maybe it is predatory.
@@TyrHeimdal Majority of the rest of the features are just gameplay mechanics -- many of which were held up by PES and server meshing. Hacking was completed a while ago, and exploration is literally just dependent on the new scanning function. The jank and QoL stuff is all server related. So he may or may not be off about that assessment depending on how 4.0's implementation goes with stabilising server meshing. If they have something stable by the end of this year, it's not really a stretch that 2025 is just implementing mechanics and polishing them, which is nowhere near as monumental as implementing and stabilising foundational tech, which they have been doing for the last few years.
@@dfynestmax8716I don’t think people realise… YOU FONT HAVE TO BUY THESE WITH REAL MONEY 😂 but everyone focuses on this. I only have I think 3 ships one of the is the Nomad and Anvil Hawk aaaannnndddd the freelancer??? Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s the mining ship. But yea they can buy ship in game currency as in… do a mission get creds and save up 🤣
Concierge tickets get answered much faster? No way, I’m waiting over 3 weeks for a response from invictus about an upgrade issue with the retaliator lol
I think its hit or miss, i made a ticket a couple weeks ago about having a ccu on a referral ship removed to get 230$ credit. Even though there not supposed to do this they did and the ticket was done and closed with 2 responses within 24 hours, and this was when they were busy with peoples broken oberdrive missions.
The first person he interviewed said a bunch of stuff that was half true or completely not true. There are so many legitimate complaints you could have about the game or the developer, we dont need to make up crap. The 2nd interview was a lot better, though i didnt agree with everything he said and it also wasnt 100% accurate At the end of the day... Asmon might actually play the game which will be hilarious
Here's hoping not, if the "quality" of players Summit brought with him are any indication. Then again, Asmon's fans actually play MMO's, so might be better?
Asmon needs to wait until 4.0 -- he said it will be a few months because he wants to complete a bunch of other games and wants to make Star Citizen a mainline game (seems to be giving it a lot of prestige for something he's never played) and basically make it a focal point of the channel for a while.
LMAO Mike Losing it at 1:23:30 when buddy says "A year, maybe two". I lost it along with Mike. A year or two? Buddy, we ain't even getting 4.0 THIS year!!! Was already saying this since February. The rest of this year will only be 3.23.X patches, and you think 1.0 is a year or two away? Haha, that was a good laugh he gave us.
@@edmundduke1296 Nothing is guaranteed, my faith in CIG with their history of continuously missed deadlines and the rate at which 3.23 and its subsequent sub-patches are coming out have me not believing 4.0 will be out before Dec 31. Only believe it when it actually happens.
@@tuckwalker670 funny, because the second guy was the exact same when he started spewing bullshite about gundam. it was genuinely the meme of "that word doesnt mean what you think it means". it was painfull to listen.
Don't worry, everyone will forget all about this like they do every year during CitizenCon. Streamers all seem to get amnesia during CitizenCon and jump back on the hype train like it's 2015 all over again.
because no one really cares that they sell expensive packages for the game. They all come ot get their views on the easy outrage, but no one actually cares because its not even a bad thing
@@aguspuig6615 The point is that this is who CIG is. They say a lot of stuff is coming the following year and then miss the mark. My point had nothing to do with expensive ships.
@@DaringDan Every company puts out estimates and miss them... internally. That's why they keep those estimates internal, and if they need an extension it's usually denied, which is how we get Cyberpunk 2077 situations, where the game was released but in a broken and unfinished state. If CIG kept all their estimates internal then the same people who complain that CIG keep missing their deadlines would complain CIG isn't communicating enough about their estimated deadlines.
This was asked by the whales so they dont have to buy each item 1 by 1 its literally the price of every item in the game stop spreading misinformation just because you're salty
I can tell you right now... Concierge customer service is absolutely no different then normal customer service..... They take weeks to answer a single question....
you are not the first person to say this, which makes me question is that a good thing or a bad thing? because if you, who are spending ALOT, is still being treated like a nobody, does that mean they just dont care, or do they manage to treat those who just paid the minimum even worse?
@@marcosdheleno I've spent an absolute ton of spare money with them. And have gotten worse treatment then several of my buddies who only spent the minimum. So they are just not good at helping backers anymore unless they are content creators
@@marcosdheleno I honestly think that so many of us have spent so much money And not enough of us have spoken out because fear of losing our stuff so they know at this point they can do and say whatever they want... I personally stopped sinking big money in about a year ago. I hope for the best with the project but they won't get another big purchase from me. Not until I see some actual results and the older ships finally start coming out... At this point every single new concept they do. Pushes the ships we already pledged for back another year.
Question: when does the scam start? Because I’m always hearing that I’m being scammed, and this is all a scam, but my reality is that when I go in and test this software, I have an absolute blast. Graphically, the star engine is breathtaking. Are there a ton of bugs? If you play the game, you know there is, you either accept that fact and try to press through as a tester, or you become disenfranchised and feels that you wasted your money because you didn’t want to test an alpha game you wanted to play a finished product, but for me, even with all the things that happen that are super frustrating, the moments that I have, I’ve had are just beautiful exploration are well worth the small amount of money that I pledged to get in.
That sounds good when you say it. But what happens when you don't have LTI on your cash purchase ship, and your time insurance policy runs out? To many variables to include before anything real concrete becomes of insurance. For now its almost all speculation. What they have officially said, is that you will never lose access to your store purchased ship. The discussion about insurance seemed to put all focus on the word LTI, and didn't really mention the time policies on ships.
Ngl what would be funny is if when the game releases to 1.0 everybody starts with a small starter ship, and the ships you've pledged only unlocks being able to buy them in game right away. If I havn't pledged an 890j I'd have to unlock it first through missions and reputation, while someone who has pledged it can just buy it right away, as long as they have the UEC that is.
Thats actually such a cool idea honestly, would make everyone who paid a lot be pretty much equal to the other players without removing the perks of paying for ships irl
I’ve been to a concierge event twice in LA that didn’t cost anything to go to, with Chris and Sandi and Ben and Lando etc those then turned into the general bar citizen events that you don’t need to be concierge to attend.
9:35 To this point, I opened a concierge ticket (Over ILW so I expected some delay) and it took 12 days for someone to respond. I think it was "opened" after about a week but still sat without a response for a few days after
I'm in the Yacht Club. They have different levels of membership to the Org. One for the 400i, one for the 600i and another for the 890J. But, you do need to own with real money, one of the three. Then they have an Admirer's level (basically very lowest entry level) for people who don't own one, but appreciate the ships.
I'm glad that I backed this game, not going to say the amount but I'm a SpaceDad. I'm also glad that when I backed this game in Feb 2013 that IT WAS TO BACK SQUADRON 42 and Star Citizen. They were BOTH included in the description of the pledge. I'm glad a lot of the development went towards SQ42, it allowed them to build the game to be as best as it could and all that effort will be put into SC.
Ok dude, I seriously laugh at statements like "it's not a game." Ok, i can start the program. There are missions i can do, things to explore, challenges to complete. Players to fight against. In what way is this not a game? "but it's buggy!" so was the original stalker and i still enjoyed it. "But it's not complete! They haven't delivered everything they promised." that's ok! It's *STILL A GAME.*
The fact CIG is forcing backers to vote against each other for parts of the game proves just how gullible backers are in the first place. They promised features and gameplay modes to everyone then decided to back peddle and make backers more or less fight for which side got part of what they were promised and the losing half gets nothing. The best part is that the people who win the vote still don't get what they want, it's just CIG promises that eventually they'll start working on it, someday, probably.
Actually -- while the guy kind of got some things wrong -- it's good the first group didn't win because the game CIG was originally building was literally just Starfield. I don't see how anyone sees the way that game plays and goes "Yeah, I wish Star Citizen had stayed the course and was made like this".
1:43:20 Its a Loadingscreen for the clients PC only. EDIT: Or to be precise: it's to mask YOUR PC loading the new system in. Just to prevent pop-ins. And of course maybe some optional gameplay.
If there is one thing we can not believe, it’s cigs plans for LTI, cig have a proven track record for going back on things previously said when they actually come to implementing the gameplay loop. So just becareful with bold statements that LTI is meaningless. It could depending on implementation, be a pay to win nightmare that makes me not play due to a mental pay to win imbalance. It could, if the fee for people with non lti is 1 million to recover a ship or pay for insurance, someone who paid real money have saved 1 million in game credits every time your ship blows up. Let’s just say based on cigs history of back tracking things, I wouldn’t be so confident in my statements. It’s a real fear for me that after 15 years of waiting, star citizen ends up a pay to win mess that I wouldn’t want to play any way.
@SaltEMike you're correct at 9:50. I backed so long ago(2014), that I'm at like $1600 in total spent, just because I'd see something and want it. So I spent 160 per year (which includes the 120 per year for the base subscription btw) or so, and honestly, I think that's a lot of people. If you average out the account numbers to that $700 million dollars, it's $135 per person, which is high but not insane. That being said, I haven't given them new money in a while, just keep recirculating to try different ships.
Issue is these were all pledges in the past.. It got started as part of kickstarter. It has evolved into this. It's hard to decouple how we got here to what is is now and comparing to other games. SC is simply not comparable to standard games. Its more a hobby for many. Sort of like people building sim pits and so on. I not sure why this isn't brought up with those novice to SC streamers. Plus people spent their money over time. It's not like dropping 10-48K a pop. Those are consolidated packages.
Ngl, happy that Asmon will try the game and he knows that it´s not gonna be perfect, BUT will try to have fun or explore as much as possible. If he is going to play it in 1 month, would be perfect, cargo update should be here in 1 month or so...Gonna be a good start
Nah, he said a couple of months -- he wants to get through Cyberpunk 2077 and the new Elden Ring stuff first, which I think makes the most sense. You have to have a clean gaming palate for Star Citizen. It's a difficult game to juggle with other games unless you're playing small indie titles in the meantime.
I got SQ42 Pledge package which consist of SC+SQ42, half priced. $22.5 for the whole thing. Might be the best purchase besides half of my Steam sales purchase.
I'll still stick around for the game to finish but they should add a shrine to the game with all the old backers names if we die before it releases. sq42 part1 will be interesting to see , im still on the fence about how good it will be off the small snips they have shown. graphicly good storyline and combat yet to be determined.
I know someone who is Concierge, who went to a Concierge event. They had to apply for event tickets which did not cost any additional money. So at the time of writing the information about event exclusive events, I believe it to be correct. Your comment about buying event tickets may be correct now, but it was not always the case.
@@SpaceDad42 I'm on the opinion that you are going around ragebaiting people, while not even doing it cleverly. That said, you can scroll up a few hours. I have some opinion to share, Mike even commented on it.
Ive only upgraded my aurora to an aurora CL for the cargo functionality 45 dollars for this amount of game demo that is constantly adding new things its the best 45 ive ever invested into a game even when sc is bad its still given me a ton of gameplay even with missing the things that make it an actual game
You will ALWAYS have to pay UEC for ship storage as part of the economy. You will NEVER have an Idris in virtual space to be spawned at command. Orgs are mandatory if you're scaling up in any way.
Texas instruments computer we had was fully loaded so around 1984 we had what was a really basic internet. More like logging into a message board and chatting and trading programs. My mom was into making graphics for games or business cards. She made one game and was trading it online. It was an interesting time. I got a paper route and bought my first PC in 1989 good old radio shack PC, called a Tandy 1000. :D
I'm sorry, but there's a difference between having an opinion and spreading misinformation. We don't work for CIG, so it's not our job to correct it, but these misrepresentations of SC really frustrate me, especially given Asmongold's large following. Some might say, "Who cares?" It's not about caring what others think; it's about the SC backer being so closed-minded. Allowing misinformation to spread either means you don't care or don't realize the impact. Does it affect my gameplay? No. But it definitely affects the passion and hope for the future of SC. Yes. CIG might have loans, but this is crowd-funded. Unlike GTA6, which isn't crowd-funded, SC relies on its backers.
Over 12k in and I've asked the concierge service 4 requests and was told no 3 of the 4 times and the one they did, it was a fault on their side and they still questioned it before they did it.
also they should give the old ship concept purchases a lifetime insurance upgrade. why do my 10 year old concept purchases got 6month insurance but would cost me 350 just to upgrade to a current lti version.
CIG is a private company. They are not required to release financial information to the public. They don't have the same level of oversight as publicly traded companies from the SEC or government agencies. As such, those financials are not combed through. It is interesting that in 2022 their financials went up by 29% to match 1 to 1 the 30% in income. You could say they hired more or just increased salaries to the already existing ones. Which employees got the raises? We will have to guess.
The funny part as that my story is about identical to SalteMike's. I was basically following Star Citizen from start and cheering for it but secretly wasn't rushing to put my own cash down early. Luke was also always talking about the project on LTT and then one of their videos covered how LTI was going away and this was the last time to get squadron free and LTI (which I had kind of already seen making the rounds) so I backed a 300i package in June 2013. 😂
on the topic of the yacht club.. before I even went into content creation, I saw them meeting up on yela. So I took my friends and an 890j that we got in the game over to the meetup spot, and those guys told me to fuck off because it's not a ship that we bought with real money.
I do not believe RSI can license their tech without serious legal challenges. And who would buy it? It's janky as hell. All these promises of the new tech making it easier to get content into the game habe proven to be lies.
Exactly, and star citizen is so freaking technically difficult. I think the game is incredible and I have a good time playing. Well worth it to me to spend 3-400 bucks on something that I get hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of.
When you consider some games have a price, then there is an expansion for a set price, so now you have paid more for additional content, then there might be a 'free update' that adds in game purchasing, so now you are paying for in game items, cosmetics etc. People can easily pay over a 100 bucks or more. Now there other games that operate a sub model, on top of an initial price for the base game, then there is the in game store, then there additional content and expansions most of which will cost money, so again over the time of your involvement in playing it you have spent easily over 100 bucks. Now times that by the number of games you have ever played, the number expansions for those games and any additional content for those games that cost you money and you might be shocked and surprised by the amount of money you have spent on gaming. Do that for any other subscription, service, you have used, and again you will be surprised at how much you have spent. the only question(s) that needs answering is: Has it been worth the outlay? Have you been entertained? Have you had value for money? Knowing what you know now, would you do it all again?
I dont get why he’s using GTA to rationalize P2W. I use it to argue the exact opposite. When GTA online first started on PS3 in 2013 getting money was extremely hard and grindy and there were only few super cars, so having even one actually meant something, they had value because of what you had to do to get them. My long distance cousin and I spent days and weeks to earn an Entify XF, which gave it sentimental value too and is currently the only car I’ll never sell over a decade later. Now with shark cards and modders handing us out millions, it’s normal to have garage fulls of them and they mean basically nothing because of how inflated the economy is. It takes all value and the experience of the game away from earning them.
I am a poor person I bought this game for 45 dollars because it wasn't a 60 dollar game and now I have an 890j in game still only spent 45 dollars on the game
Being a Starcitizen expert. Was annoying hearing the two people he interviewed. They sounded like they haven't played the game for years or ever. They couldn't describe basic stuff. Or why a Javelin with 1 player isn't "better" than the starting Aurora.
God, Asmon's chat is utter mushbrains. "THIS GUY A DEV"... Nah, this guy has been playing the game for years, he sees the potential, and he knows most of the info. Some of it's wrong, like the server meshing test. But for the most part, a lot of what he said was correct. I love Asmon, he's actually an extremely intelligent dude who puts on a front. I feel like he'd come at the game from a very curious standpoint. I think he'd be more willing to give other systems besides piracy a chance, which was Summit's downfall - he only focused on the PvP and Piracy aspects, and didn't really delve into anything else, which was expected being a PvP player. Asmon has a history of playing both PvE and PvP, with a heavy leaning towards PvE gameplay, so it'd be interesting to see his take on everything in the game, as opposed to just that one focused experience.
I mean he is probably right about the dogfight stuff since for 1 v 1 dogfights are one of the most afordable ones and even hornet is not silver bullet you can see real tryhards like Avenger one just smash them with more agile fighters like bucaneer or M50 etc
I hate the fact that SC community basically became ship models collectors. Of course there are people who actively trying to do military ops using all the vehicles available but mostly it's just screenshot meta.
You have to remember that the amount of people that play the game now will be miniscule compared to the final player count. Every single person that tests the alpha could be given a Javalin, and they would still be rare to see when the game is at its height once it's released. Flying those ships takes a huge crew and they will mostly be floating fortresses for orgs anyways. No one is going to be able to take an Idris and do anything with it by themselves
No one is mentioning that those big expensive ships actually can't be flown solo, with some requiring large crews. You can't buy an Idris, and beat me in my Hornet 1v1. I might not by able to kill you, but you also can't kill me.
My first internet was when AOL first started coming out. when all there was was chat rooms and that was it. And I don't know what he was talking about at the beginning tho. I mean if he has a problem with the $48k package then just dont buy it haha
Its hard to answer the question whats the point or end game in a sandbox style game. For some its just enjoying the loops they like to play. For others, it's an emergent gameplay that pops up when interacting with other players. Some like the grind of saving for the goal ship they want. Some like to roleplay sole, with a small crew or in an org. The ships help facilitate different experiences for me but are in of themselves not the goal. What that new ship now allows me to do is the goal. I have larger ships but find I 80% use the C8R for how I like to play. I have 3 kids that play the game and spend time grinding to get their ships and they enjoy zero to hero so they each have just starters. For them the journey is where they find enjoyment. I just like to play with them when I have time. So I bought a few ships to facilitate my ability to play and keep up with my kids. They feel if you buy mid to end game ships you cheapen the journey as thats the game for them. So it all depends on your goal or point of view for the game. All I can say is We got into the at 3.17 amd they have been making great progress since then. Cant wait for 4.0!
After invictus I’m just over 2k. Bought the mark2 hornet and still don’t have my upgrade. Put in a complaint. 3 weeks later they sent me a message saying they were busy 😅 in my defence I’ve been waiting since 2017 Also it’s wild you can now get the javelin. That’s huge
Believe what you want Mike, lol.. beds Jumptown video was not scripted, my org held that sight and he was the only one who broke through with ground infantry when we were more focused on the 2 other orgs fighting us in the air. ✌️
Lol! He asked 10 times, "Do you want the features to be completed?" And he diverted into "I want the game to last for years". That was not the question! Do you want a 1.0 to be launched or not? Do you want CIG to ever deliver bounty hunter, exploration, data mining, hacking, death of a spaceman, bed logging? Because we have somewhat of an idea of these, but we are still far from any feature complete. It's all pie in the sky! Off course we want the game to receive further features and updates, but CIG must deliver a 1.0 at some point! That's the bare minimum!
@@matuto1986 yeah Im not saying he's right but I think what he means when he said that is that he feels like developers tend to neglect games after its official release so he's not saying he doesn't want those features completely and polished he's saying he never wants the developers to be become complacent when it comes to adding new content and features and continues community involvement
@@zachanator2011 dude started talking nonsense about gundam. in a way only people who only know gundam exists, but never watched a single episode would. that, to me, was proof enough that i shouldnt take him seriously at all. as he sounded like a drug dealer trying to give "free samples, no strings attached" of crack.
I didn't like how the second guy sounded a bit misleading. 45 dollars is not enough to do everything in the game off the bat but its enough to do the basic things, which hypothetically let you get the in-game money to do the other things. Not that it is particularly easy to get into making money without some precursor knowledge.
also, loved how the second guy "forgot" to talk about how a good portion of the SOLD ships dont even exist in game. also, he lost all respect when he started spewing nonsense on gundam. it was obvious he never watched any gundam. that alone showed me, he didnt care about truth, he cared about his own ass only.
As a comment to the Evocati and how much money you spent... I was once upon a time an Evocati tester (stopped playing for a couple years and got the boot) and at that time, I had $135 invested into the game... The Cutlass Red Game package from Feb of 2015. It has nothing to do with the amount of money spent, it's all play time, testing and bug reports.
I really hope they do more in game achievements you cant buy outside of game. Do this event get free upgrade for ship. Do this and get weapons in the game for free or armors. Instead of just contract managers you have in game NPC's you need to find and impress to work your way up to meet the big boss for better missions. Discounts with friendly factions. NPC bounties on you from rival npc groups that will try to hunt you down. Unlock tatoos or patches you can equipped to show you completely or were part of a quest line (again stuff you cant buy Outside game!) This would greatly evaluate the overall game experience for me.
Last time I checked Chris said they were just in the polishing phase of sq 42, so how is that they don’t have enough money at this point to “finish” the game? How much money is needed to polish? Like I’m genuinely curious about this, everyone who is a hardcore SC backer uses that excuse and defends CIG
Lamborghini and Ferrari do the same kind of thing, until you are an actual customer, you are not allowed to purchase upcoming special car models. You can have all the money you want, but you can’t get it because you haven’t bought a Lamborghini or a Ferrari yet other car companies do the same thing. Just like a $50,000 sub option. You never know someone might want to do that. Everyone would throw a fit and freak out and think he’s super greedy but. There’s 20 people out there that would buy it. It would only be because they have the disposable income and they wanna do it. But I guess there’s something wrong with that.
Comparing CiG with Ferrari and Lamborghini takes some incredible mental gymnastics. It is far less of a stretch to compare SC to Black Desert. I won't do that because it is ridiculous too.
That’s to stop people flipping (immediately selling for profit) the limited editions and ruining their brand by not rewarding their rich enthusiasts. There are no such limits on digital goods. It’s artificial scarcity e.g. LTO (Limited Time Offer) ships that are “sold out”.
@@mirkzemus9519 what was true they’re not comparable, But I could see them thinking or viewing themselves as the Lamborghini or Ferrari of the video game industry. And I could see them definitely wanting to be.
i called it a tech demo, that was awhile ago. sketchy as it was, the potential of that tech could be paradigm shifting as to what video games as a whole can be. it's still somewhat up in the air, though. have to compete with GTA6, but, if finessed right, could be a game still talked about and played when GTA10 is being hyped. it's not always about sunshine and bubblegum fun with friends. Fallout 76 proved this.
@26:07 They could potentially make a bunch of money if they gave it to him. That 50k is nothing to what that would potentially do if he spent some time streaming it .
I have never met a player who paid 48k on SC, I have met several ppl who did on flight simulators. I met someone who paid 12k on a bottle of cognac just to have it. Ppl spend a lot of money on lots of things. I don’t think it’s a big issue CIG gives ppl the options to spend that amount of money in one go. If they want to spend it they will anyway. If it’s in one big purchase or in many smaller ones.
Imagine how much people spend on WOW over the years, yet they worry about people spending on SC. I have spent exactly the same amount I spent on WOW on SC.
