It's the Ohio River that floods in our neck of the woods. Fortunately here in Louisville there's flood walls. The flood gates get installed when river levels exceed a certain height.

You guys drove down Harborside. That street floods during every thunderstorm. My wife went to Whataburger and I went to Michocoana's, and Viet Cajun (89th and Seawall, I highly recommend). We're like ducks here. It's fine. People are already back on the beach.

Honestly any circulating storm in the Gulf gets close enough and our tides here on the Texas coast will go up, even just an upper level low pressure system with sustained southeast winds can raise the tide several feet and flood coastal communities slightly. Grew up in Seabrook TX along Galveston Bay, this is absolutely normal weather for us this time of year. 3 feet or less surge is manageable.
