After finding tons of Speckled Trout in the mud flats using sidescan sonar, I anchored and slung some Clouser minnows into the water with the goal of enticing some cold winter water Speckled Trout to get off their bellies and chase some flies.
After a short warm front, the water warmed up to 57F - enough to get the trout moving a bit for some flies.
Since I was in shallow water using a Clouser which is a weighted fly, I had to keep the rod tip up to keep the fly off the bottom. I probably would’ve been better off with an unweighted fly and a slow sinking intermediate sink tip fly line such as the SA Grand Slam.
