These fabulous Shows had so much energy; actors, dressing, script, sets......and the matchless, unrepeatable, glowing Carol Burnett, the Goddess of Comedy.
Unforgettable comic sketch spoofing THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1939). Carole Burnett and Harvey Korman's funny bits with the loud bell ringing was absolutely a riot!
If my Grandma was with us today... She would die again😳. She thought that the Carol Burnett show was filth and smut back then !! With the smut and filth today in shows, I am glad she is gone and doesn't have to see what's happening in this Country right now... I go to great lengths in protecting my 89 yr old Aunt from seeing any of it right now. Nothing plays on her tv but the good ole days shows, movies and old music. And no news ! I'm Trying to keep her mind only on the better days. 🦋 It would be cruel 😢, to not protect our elderly right now from this.
I feel like the sound effects guy missed the glass-crash cue when "Jane" flings Ken Berry through the window with her bust, unless it is meant to be a room divider maybe?
I love Carol but this was a tasteless send up of one of the greatest, most heartbreaking speeches in sports history. Making light of Lou's final speech facing his horrible terminal illness and death. Pretty bad.
Honestly, I felt it was more of a send up of Gary Cooper's performance in Pride of the Yankees rather than Lou Gehrig. Not saying you don't have every right to dislike it all the same, just adding my two cents on the matter.
