I'm proud to say Patrick Ford was my trainer for the Golden Gloves in N.Y. in 2002(lost to Jorge Teron) and he was a very humble hard working man. Hr never said anything but good things about the late GREAT Mr. Sanchez. May those two GREAT Warriors rest in peace.
Patrick Ford was my trainer several years ago. He talked about how great Sanchez was. Still has this fight on VHS. Takes pride in this fight... and he should. Sanchez was one of the BEST!
Ford also told me that he broke Sanchez's nose during the WBC World Featherweight title bout. Sanchez fought on and didn't let the broken nose bother him.
Your just a casual ignorant he fought a guy who was 5 foot 10 with 78 reach and a great jab he sanchez broke that jab down and took Ford to later rounds and beat him and sanchez was only 5 foot 6 with 68 inch reach
@marcxopoco - I'm watching without the sound on and I don't see what you see here. I see a lot of missing on Ford's part, 3:25 a couple of jabs that looked kinda slow too me, but on the other hand I don't see a lot from Sanchez either. Too me, Sanchez looks like the faster guy. But I think Ford's height and reach are troubling Sanchez a bit. I need to watch 2,3,4 and 5 still.
It was a close fight. But Sanchez landed the harder shots, in fact I know Patrick Ford, he's a boxing trainer these days at Gleason's gym in Brooklyn. He told me that the Sanchez fight was close, but also told me that Sanchez did deserve the decision. Sanchez hurt Ford with hard combinations.
Every time I watch this fight it becomes more clear that Patrick Ford cleaned Sanchez's clock but since Sanchez was Don King's fighter they gave it to Sanchez. By the third round Ford had busted Sanchez' face and broken the inside of Sanchez ' mouth.
Noo. Ford looked quicker but sanchez was actually quicker and cleverer he was countering Ford all night long, running around the ring don't make u quicker
@EVERYONE - I trained with Patrick Ford briefly a few years ago, almost a decade ago. He never had nothing but RESPECT for Sanchez and never said that he beat him. He said Sanchez was THE BEST. His words... He lives here in New York City. He is the one who told me about Sanchez.
@marcxopoco fyi ford was beaten to retirement, he was a shot fighter this fight. sanchez was by far the superior fighter. its obvious you dont know boxing.
