The Dillards recorded this in 76 - this song, this style, would have been heard at every bluegrass festival played at by them, or their imitators, since.... ;-)
The Boston based group, Charles River Valley Boys, was the first bluegrass group to record this Beatles song in a bluegrass country style on their 1966 Elektra album, Beatle Country. I think the Dillards were next and it has been done by a variety of groups since then . Charles River Valley Boys included John Cooke on guitar and vocal. He both photographed and managed in the rock and folk scenes in the 1960s.
