Sam sang as easily as most of us breathe......what a voice!

I find him so mesmerizing - the way he moves his mouth when he sings, his mannerisms and swagger, both subtle and blatant at the same time. His genuine but polished interview style, that's amazing PR but clearly from the soul. I just love you, Sam.

His speaking voice was just as beautiful as his singing voice! Greatest of All Time!

I absolutely love this man. He had a wonderful voice, plus the man was FINE as heck. He's my favorite entertainer of all times.

I absolutely love this man's voice. Also what a sweet and lovely personality he had. What a terrible shame to loose him so young and in such a senseless. We will never know exactly what happened that December night long ago. Rest in Peace Sam you were wonderful.

So sad to look at him here, so young, vibrant and brilliant and to have some idiot killing him less than a year later just breaks my heart (even to this day).

since I was 15 or 16 trying to figure things out, I found a song called “Another Saturday Night” by Sam Cooke & things were never the same.. by far my favorite artist and the best singer I’ve ever heard. His soul was poured into his music and I just hope we all can keep his legacy alive through his music

Between 1957 and 1966 Mr. Cooke had forty-three records on the Top 100; five made the Top 10 with one reaching #1*, "You Send Me" for 3 weeks in 1957... * He just missed having a second #1 record when "Chain Gang" {for 2 weeks} in 1960 peaked at #2; the two records that kept it out of the top spot were "My Heart Has A Mind of Its Own" by Connie Francis and "Mr. Custer" by Larry Verne ...

Wow. what a classic song. What a smooth performer Sam Cooke was. Here he's singing so effortlessly and it's live no lip syncing or auto tune. Back when if you could sing, you sang. Sam Cooke had a way of making what he was singing move you. Just listen to many of his classic and maybe you will see what I'm talking about.

he was so good, and shot dead about 8 months after this aired. and I read that his toddler had died in a drowning accident in 1963. His mouth is smiling but his eyes look sad. Maybe it's just what I'm reading into it but that's what it looks like to me. so sad, and he was such a pro
