I know I'm being that guy right now, but in that comparison the sheeps teeth are harmless and the wolves teeth are actually deadly so it doesn't really make sense because all guns can kill people
What Sam said at the very end truly just sounds right. The last 5% of homeless people, at least in advanced Western countries might just be homeless no matter how society tries to help them. Obviously a oversimplification but it just sounds about right.
I was homeless for a while and I knew multiple fellers that were lifers to the gutter. they were all older guys in their 50s and 60s and they were just resigned to their vagrant selves. One of them really relished in the slum life and at the time I really admired him because he was so debauched and dead to the world, that he was seemingly untouchable, while I was miserable living on the streets. But I did it to myself by being a junky loser. so no pity party. so yeah I agree with ya. many folks became homeless by the usual circumstances, but then lived the life for a while and found contentment in it.
i did a little bit of volunteer work with homeless people when I was around 20, and many of them will straight up tell you that they enjoy being homeless. they'll go to a shelter every now and then for food, or if they're in a particularly rough spot, but quite a few of them genuinely enjoy being on the streets. i think it's similar to people in prison. often when someone has spent a large portion of their life like that, in a certain place with a certain "code" and lifestyle, people get used to it and can't really imagine living a different or better way.
I was homeless for 6 months. Every homeless person I met during that time were by far the most criminal-minded, selfish, hedonistic and manipulative scumbags I have ever met in my entire life. There's this whole narrative about how homeless people start taking heroin to help them deal with "the pain of their lives". But that's bullshit. Literally EVERY homeless heroin addict I met told me that they only began using heroin as a way to cope with the come down from smoking crack. You cannot comprehend just how shitty these people actually are until you've had to deal with them. People imagine sociopaths as being successful CEOs and shit, but that's probably only the top 1% of sociopaths. The other 99% are either permanently homeless because nobody wants wants deal with their bullshit or they're in prison. Really, just awful people. Of course i met some semi-decent homeless people, like this one homeless guy who basically sold himself into slavery and worked for his heroin. But all the others? Just the absolute worst people you can possibly imagine. In fact, you can't imagine it until you've actually experienced it.
A huge amount of the homeless are making a lifestyle choice. If you gave them a free house they would burn it down and go back to the streets to smoke meth all day and shout at women and screw in the gutter. It's called being sigma bro
I recently had the fear of death and the realization of my mortality hit me (in that one day all my senses and being unable to be with my family will all but cease to exist) and I needed to look up some comforting stories or ideas of the afterlife and how to live fully with the time we have. To cut a long story short, I have never read such utterly cynical and doom ridden messages in my life as I did on reddit. Legit the most bizarre, depressing threads about how “it didn’t matter what you did,” “there’s nothing,” “*insert shitty joke*,” etc. Just the absolute most hopeless shit I seen which made me realize that many people on reddit only have one thing to live for… reddit. legit saw someone ask if they would be able to meet their pet in the afterlife and someone commented “no, because you will be ceased of consciousness and so would your pet. there is not unity in death expect the void,” or some shit. fucking weirdo’s man.

Stefan Molyneux opened my eyes to the concept of net fiscal impact. He did a video where he broke down economic statistics showing different groups of people's net fiscal impact and it changed how I see our nation and the world. We were all raised on the belief that everyone is equal and deserves to be treated equally under the law but when you actually start to investigate people's contributions to society, you begin to realize equality is an absolute lie.

i got a degree and a trade. There is an extreme amount of neopotism here for hiring and also hiring solely women and immigrants. It has never been crowds of Indians roaming the streets before as now. So i cant really find meaningful employment and school was a waste of time.
