The Roadhouse movie did a terrible job of conveying the basic "Ultimate fighter" idea and it seems like the UFC made them cut most of the UFC footage they shot with Gyllenhal in-arena once they discovered that his character is supposedly unhinged and ends up punching a grounded opponent to a permanent injury, as the ref is trying to pull him off. Most of what they shot wasn't even in the movie. Seems like that was the pivotal story point that would tell the viewer how UFC guys are the "Ultimate fighter" and a "wild" guy.

The more I listen to Alex Nichols, the more I miss Matt Christman. Nichols isn't terrible, but he lacks the outrage that Matt Christman brought.

@@shanedurban I'm getting there. Part of what I enjoyed about Matt Christman was that you could hear the anger in his voice about having to deal with the bs that most people think of as normal. I don't know the details of why Matt is not present (I though there was some sort or family emergency or somrthing) but Alex Nichols is hopefully a temporary solution, at best.

@@screenPhiles Matt had a stroke. He's doing well, but he's had to go through a lot of therapy, at least according to his wife. Plus, she just had a baby, so he's probably busy with that too.

If Alex could flesh out his thoughts more in his head before saying them and interrupt less, he’d be less grating. He has a couple of zingers but most of his contributions have too much setup for too little payoff. Matt definitely is the missing leg on this stool

I was listening to them discuss old cars as I was driving home in my 94 S10 With different parts from 4 trucks so it's red white and blue now 😆👌it has 30k on the new motor and 300k on the body.it does everything I need it to and has never left me stranded. This truck replaced my 88 1 ton. Since my back is garbage I found it wise to not load a 1 ton anymore. Among my numerous other cars I prefer my Toyotas since I can go 300 miles often for 20ish bucks. Vs 60 a week at least in my conversion vans ✌️💚🍉
