These two are incredibly underrated actors, yet they're completely amazing and have participated in one of the greatest films in history..humanity where have you gone
The characters that Sam and Laura played projected a sincere love and enthusiasm for paleontology that added a certain intrigue to Jurassic Park. When she is examining the sick triceratops, she squeezes its tongue and digs into that pile of shit with unfettered curiosity, and we, in turn, are interested in what they discover. Jurassic World pales in comparison without the same kind of scene and character development.
she's so damn...whatever it's called when you light up a room, bubbly? it's amazing how young she was at the time, like 25, imagine a 25 year old actress today playing that part, no way, she'd be in high heels and a skirt, flaunting skin...and 35 years old, and sam neill is the man, I mean dead calm, come on! and jurassic park is on that 2001 level of impressive for the time
I'm so glad they picked Laura Dern for Dr. Sattler. She was THE perfect choice for that role. (Nothing against Helen or Gwyneth, I just don't think they would've captured that character so magnificently.)
Nathan McDonald Isn't he? He's one of my fave actors. I sometimes wonder if he really is a vampire or something because aside from the gray in his hair, he still looks like he's 40-something. It's unreal.
Obscure Entertainment Yes, I know. I've seen that movie you're referring to, and it's quite good. He also played the grown-up Damien in the 3rd film of "The Omen" series. It was one of his early roles, but still unmistakably him. It's just crazy how little he ages, though.
Cool? No. Cold? Yes. Hate to say it since he was one my favorite actors when I was younger (primarily because of Jurassic Park), but he's actually a bit of a cold-hearted asshole in real life.
Wow Gwyneth Paltrow and Helen Hunt were up for the role of Dr. Sattler? Did not know that. Thank goodness Laura Dern got it, can't imagine anyone else but her doing it.

I was lucky enough to be able to go see the re-release for my birthday that year. It was amazing in 3D and as a '90s kid who grew up with Jurassic Park the feeling of nostalgia was huge! Also it wasn't only filmed on Kauai. It was also filmed on Oahu, which is the island I live on. They're referring to hurricane Iniki (Pronounced ee-knee-kee). Excuse my language but that hurricane was fucking insane! Look it up. Also I've never been to Kauai but if you're ever on Oahu and would like to see where they filmed on this island go to Kualoa ranch. Tons of films and TV shows have been filmed there, and you can go see the various sets. I went with my aunty's youth group that she was leader of when I was in middle school. As you can imagine we took lots of pictures and theres one with all of us standing behind the log from the gallimimus scene.
@@Bluenose352 Yes, they have resumed filming. It was delayed a little bit because of the state of the world, but as far as I know from reading recent articles, filming started back up, and they are still aiming for a June release next year (2021)! I'm very excited.
@@SkiesTurnedGrey I just read that it'll be June 11th. I think that was the release date for Jurassic Park, back in '93. Not sure how long the movie will be, but hopefully they'll wrap up all six Jurassic movies into one. I agree with you, and hope Ariana, and Jo at least make a cameo of some type.
I don't know why each time the talk about the FX of a movie they ask the actors about it, they don't have any single clue how it was made ! The main shoot of a movie takes only few weeks/months ... the rest of the production is handled by other companies and the actors are long gone on other productions at that stage. Why not asking Denis Murren or Phil Tippett those questions actually : those are the guys behind the magic of the dinosaurs you see on screen ! And they are shown only in very specific youtube channels (Tested by Adam Savage for example).
Wtf he's right, they HAVEN'T changed! I mean granted, the video is in poor quality but she looks exactly the same as she did in the movie, and besides a few gray hairs he looks exactly the same aswell
If they were going for a more novel-accurate version of the film, Gwyneth Paltrow would've been the ideal Sattler. I can see why she was screen tested.
