I kinda wish more Wrestlers would do what Booker did. Quit while you're ahead and come back whenever you're needed. Booker left before his body got too fucked up but, as he said, they can dust him off the shelf and utilize him if necessary. It's just a shame that so many guys get so obsessed with the business that they destroy themselves in the process. I understand the passion and wanting to be there for your fans but, your health should come first.
They give their wrestlers more vacation and free time, if you're in pain or you need time for yourself or the family, TNA gives it to you. They care about their wrestlers, that's why.
That's also one of the reasons Kurt Angle went there btw, because he says WWE doesn't care about their wrestlers and treat them like trash, his own words.

Booker T was hot in 2002 and 2003 and the WWE never used him correctly in my opinion. I still can't believe they had him lose to Triple H. I never watched that match because I had a feeling HHH would win, and I was right. I still haven't seen that match because the result makes me mad.
The matches were good but it was sad to watch him lose. And then, I remember when they gave him the IC strap. You could tell he wasn't happy, deep in his heart, but he had to fake smile. They didn't treat him well.
Booker T comes off as one of the legit nice guys in the business. Lots of insight into not just wrestling but life in general. He's one of the few guys I'd love to sit down with and just talk to abotu whatever comes to mind. He's in my top 5 without question.
I remember seeing his G.I. Bro character before he was in WCW. It was some short-aired Houston wrestling program. I don't remember much of the other wrestlers but GI Bro, some guy named the Night Stalker and some other guy named Thor, who was an Ultimate Warrior rip-off (but with a hammer like the comic book character and a large "T" painted on his face). This was in 1989. He would also do the back-spin that he later called the 'spin-a-roonie'.

great interview, but booker-t was wrong on one thing. mabel turned into king mabel after winning the king of the ring, and if i rembember correctly, they had some guys carry him to the ring on a throne
I'd agree that Ric Flair is the best World Champ of all time, but Booker T, in my opinion, is the last World Champion of all time! It's just a stepping stone now, which discredits it just as much as David Arquette holding it.
