How Johnny Depp has never won an Oscar, is a bigger mystery than who killed Kennedy. This actor has a range and depth of talent to match and in many cases exceed, the best of his profession, past & present. He turns 59 today, June 9th 2022, and has cause to celebrate. He finally threw the vile, abusive ex-wife off his back, with his spectacular legal victory. He has been vindicated, and can shake off her disgusting false slurs on his character. I hope some of his best dramatic roles - and an Oscar - are in his future. Johnny needs to get healthy, kick the addictive substances - and toxic parasites he's tolerated for too long - and get back in the driving seat! Millions who watched the 6 week trial and saw what a great human being he is, will be rooting for him all the way.
I really think he had a chance to win an Oscar for "Minamata," but his reputation had been torn to shreds by Amber Turd! She ruined that for him! She is an evil, vile person!
I'm 56. I think this was the first Johnny Depp movie that I saw, and I've seen all the others. He's a fantastic actor that the world needs! 💜 #JusticeForJohnnyDepp
Agreed, Johnny Depp is an exceptional talent. It's astonishing that his incredible range of characterisations has yet to win him an Oscar. It only confirms how political such awards are (look how many Oscars Harvey Weinstein movies/actors got in his glory days - all down to his bribery & threats). Johnny Depp turned 59 today - there's still time! His disastrous choice of wife - the violent, abusive Amber Heard - almost de-railed his life and career. I am so glad her heinous lies were exposed in court, he won a spectacular victory, and can now start a new chapter free of her ugly slurs. This man is not capable of the grotesque physical and sexual assaults Heard alleged. Thankfully Heard's such a poor actress, the jury and the public saw right through her lies when she gave her rehearsed testimony (complete with dry-eyed 'sobbing'). Being an off the scale narcissist, she wouldn't admit any fault whatsoever - she even tried to deny she'd failed to donate Depp's $7m divorce settlement to charity, when his lawyers proved she had not! But someone who thinks defecating in their spouse's bed is acceptable conduct, doesn't care about the immorality of promising $3.5 million to a hospital for terminally ill children - they not delivering!
Not only was he a living doll but exceptional actor in this and many others. His facial expressions, timing, dialog delivery is pure genius. Love this man. Vicki
Sam is such an adorable cinnamon roll that I want tuck away in my pocket and keep to myself. The diner scene and the dramatic movie reenactment are my favorite parts.
My favorite scenes as well!! I always play with my dinner rolls (when I have any) like he does! Also when he says “mommy” at the mental hospital. It is my all time favorite Johnny Depp movie! I have it recorded on a VHS and I still watch it regularly. I probably need to upgrade but I’ll wait till it’s not playable anymore. He will always be my favorite actor since I was little.
Aren't we all out of our tree every once in a while? I LOVED this flick! Johnny at his innocent and vulnerable best! What's not to love about this guy? You could just eat him up! Pure Adorabibblenessoverload! Amber Heard is a mental case to screw that up.
Lmfao imagine Amber never seen this movie. Or any of his movies for that matter and she was a celebrity. How can you be in the movie industry and not see Johnny Depp movies?
My favorites as well. My other fav is when he is swinging back and forth outside her room at the end. This is by far one of my favorite all time movies. ♥️♥️♥️
Oh I remember watching this so so long ago when I was back into your college and I wrote a paper on it. It was so thoughtful and warm and Johnny's character was so quirky and sweet I never forgot it. I can't imagine anyone else bringing the magic he did to that role and looking back I don't think he got near enough credit for his portrayal in this film.
Seattle always reminds me of some cute chick sitting at the park just reading a book. However times have changed since the 90s. Now it reminds me of a 1 stop shop for all your mind numbing street drugs, with bullets wizzing by
One of my favorite movies. I laughed I cried. Still haven’t tried making grilled cheese with an iron 😂. Shades of Charlie Chaplin in a few of the scenes. Johnny wasn’t given enough credit for this performance or in Edward Scissorhands either. IMO. Hope we see him on the screen soon. 🥰👍🏻🙏
I loved this movie so much!!! my son when he was 8 watched this 3 time at least a week. my son, he grew up a super super funny guy!! and I had to hide the darn iron from him!!!!
Got to watch that again. I was getting a Master's degree in Special Ed. at the time and we had to write critiques of movies. I did come to the conclusion that they kind of made light of schizophrenia as a quirky mental illness which is not true. It can be very disturbing for all people involved but I still like this movie because it shows everyone with mental illness still can be loveable, likeable, and funny.
I actually think it treats schizophrenia/schizotypal personality disorder fairly well, I never thought it was treated as anything quirky, in fact towards the end we see just how serious it is when she’s on that bus in the climax. I do love how we also see Sam learning to care for Joon and accepting her entirely, never holding her back like her brother always had and letting her be her own person, all that despite his own neurodivergence throughout the movie ❤
He was a heartrhrob during his younger days. Innocent looking, so lovable. One everybody would wish they have in their homes. I hope he will stop his drug dependence so that it will not cause him more trouble.
@Eleanor Banzuela Johnny still is a heartthrob he's Beautiful with a perfect face and Body. It's sad he wasn't given the Recognition for every one of his roles. He really put his heart into Acting. And by the way, Johnny is Sober and does not use drugs. He never had caused trouble to anyone or thing. He's a perfect Gentleman.
He has always had something very sad in his eyes. A person’s eyes do tell you where they have been and how sad their future maybe no matter how rich you may become…happiness is not in his future which is very sad
I agree there's a sadness to him, he's been through a lot. But he's a good soul who will find happiness again I have no doubt, right now he's doing exactly what makes him happy and I couldn't be happier for him!
