saw sam and jacob do this show in a church in east london- it was the most special and memorable show i’ve been to in memory. firmly reminded me that at the end of the day, this is what it’s all about. this is the stuff!

Sam is one of my favorite musicians to watch play. He is equal parts smiles and stank-face and his playing does the same to me.

The YT algorithm finally came through for me. So glad I got to listen to this.

Next to. Those last few bars... It took me a while to sus that Wilkes is producing that distorted, tortured sax in the mist, yearning in the haze. The final sequence is crucial, landing checklist, holds a note and on the beat knocks out the squelchly ear suckling rythym. Water cascades like music. I couldn't tell you who's in charge of which sounds. Wilkes gets configured, glances to Mann, who nods like a cosmic kat, and hits an emphatic one, and they go round four bars. And then the sound dries right up. There's a string squeak, a swish, an angel's whisper, and like all good things, it's gone.

Thanks fro sharing....Diggin that Jacob's keyboard, I reckon it is called 'Rolando'. Rolando is also slang for 'happening' in Portuguese...Fitting. Also real cool to see the Yamaha DX7, these cats know how to use these unique vintage instruments in a very creative way. Sam's use of looped grooves and textures and effects on the bass are always a treat. Gorgeous chord changes on Song #4 .... ''next to :)"
