He started off as a mega fan of Star Wars. In case you haven’t watched it, at a convention he explains that when it came to coming up with the lines in the Clone Wars series of the ramblings of Maul when Savage found him, he had an entire page of dialogue written beforehand. He explains that in the script it didn’t specify what Maul said when he was rambling so he came up with all of it himself. He truly is one of the best actors in Star Wars history because he isn’t just a part of the production, he’s also a part of the fan base.
"This is not a failed Jedi. This is not a hopeless man in the desert. This is a Jedi Master who is on active duty- and if he is this good, this must be the most important guard post in the entire galaxy."
Even though I like Sam Witwer as an actor I wasn’t a big fan of the Starkiller games. He was too OP for me. Like c’mon, pulling star destroyers out of the sky?
@@coloneluseless524 true, but that was the point of the game he was a new introduced member of the franchise, vaders apprentice so he needed to be powerful, but I see where your coming from. I’d love for them to create another style of Force unleashed type game, not like Jedi fallen order as that was far to slow and limited
@@coloneluseless524 yeah its good that its not cannon. But it made for the most badass scenes ever. Which is what games are about. I dont think games should be cannon, they should just be fun/badass and we should accept that not EVERY piece of star wars media has to be cannon
Absolute credit to Sam Witwer as Maul! If Ray Park is the physical embodiment of the character, Sam Witwer is the heart and soul! Now that we have this, I can't imagine the character being portrayed any other way. I love how Maul has a sort of calm rage going on. His thoughts are eloquently spoken, but their's a slight hiss to each of them, simmering just under the surface. Then, on occasion, Maul loses it and straight shouts! KENOBI!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He definitely expanded upon the character by his performance. It's hard to think of anyone else as the voice. This brings up a further discussion though, would we want to see him again with Ray Park playing him in live-action? Me? Not really. His cameo in Solo was cool but the movie was so underwhelming I don't crave as much of Maul anymore. Besides, knowing how he dies just takes me out of it. AND, I don't think they need to milk this character anymore. I've seen him enough and am ready for him to be put away.
The Kenobi tv series, showed he was a hopeless man dying in the desert not training at all, having lost most of his abilities. Until he becomes Rey Skywalker and can levitate more rocks than he has ever shown to be able to. But it was a nice interpretation anyway.
if you ignore some idiotic decisions of the series, in principle, when a force user cuts himself off from the force in order to hide, it takes a certain amount of time to reconnect. But as soon as he remembers his old skills, then the return of strength happens by itself, as with any skills (except physical if you are dystrophic) and at the end, Obi-Wan in the costume he wore in the new canon comics and chronologically the plot of the comics continuation after the series
