Sam Witwer for President of Lucasfilm, or at least creative lead... literally the only public facing person at Lucasfilm who actually understands Star Wars on a deep and fundamental level.
@@Bryan-dr5qy If inserting your wolf fetish into every property you're involved with, with talking, hyperspace traveling wolves, creating the ridiculous notion of time-travel just to save your precious character your created, flying around with rotating "saber-copter" lightsabers, and much more non-Star Warsey stuff is knowing it on a deep and fundamental level then sure. Pablo knows the technical details, like ship names, weapon names, planets etc... but he does not get the heart and soul of Star Wars, not even 10% of the way Sam Witwer does.

We need more Sam Witwer in Star Wars. This guy gets it. I would like to see what he can do in a creative position and of course he's gotta be in it as well.
Witwer is a walking Encyclopedia if Star Wars facts. He's a Star Wars trivia champion. He's been involved with Lucasfilm in many different capacities over the years, pre-and post Disney. He's tight with Filoni and has even made canon script observations and corrections on the fly in the recording booth for rebels and Clone Wars. If I were in power at Lucas film, I'd keep him on retainer as a consultant like they do with George. He's THAT keyed into the world of Star Wars. He's a busy guy, but I wonder if they offered him a role in creative whether he'd jump or not.

Omg I cant believe I never knew Sam Witwer is in star wars and is a fan! I love sam! I first saw sam in " Being Human" . Awesome show as well. But nothing tops Star Wars! I would feel so grateful to meet Sam one day! You're amazing and so down to earth I love it!
Yes, he's fantastic :) He really has such an incredible insight into the films of George, too. You can really see just how much he has learned from the knowledge Dave passed to him, that Dave learned from the Jedi master, George Lucas himself. :)
I just love Sam's attitude! I completely agree with him! It's great to talk to people, who like the Last Jedi cause it opens your eyes to new views and oppinions. And the end of the day i love a great and logical debate as well.
Cool to see another George Lucas fanatic haha.... the guy is literally one of the most underrated persons of the past 100 years at least, so many contributions to society.
If Netflix would revive Being Human, it would be amazing. The show had so much feeling and the characters each had their own story just enough to make it feel as if you were in the show with them.
I always felt that the Star killer charater was a story worth telling, hell Rouge One could have been about him bringing together a rag tag team and technically he wasn't a Jedi or a Sith...
Can't really argue with that. He had a reason to turn (Luke/Leia) but not the desire, he'd rather have them turn and join HIM at that point. But Luke's decision to not fight and never turn forced (haha, pun) a situation that was going to take that possibility away, because the emperor was going to kill Luke and take that choice away. This created the opportunity where Vader HAD TO make a choice. Turn back to the light and save his Son in the process (as well as himself) or remain in the dark side and never have his children, who he thought for 2 decades that he'd lost along with Padme, aiding (over the years) in the cementing of his decision to immerse himself with the dark side in the first place. A decision which he still struggled with for some time after his loss on Mustafar. And when the opportunity Luke created presented Vader with the choice, Anakin made that choice and killed Sidious, and Vader/himself in the process. Basically?
I personally despise the "Star Wars" series as a whole, always have, even when I was a real huge film buff. However, despite that, even I honestly found such a suggestion to be rather interesting, specifically because Witwer is a fanatic and one of the only ones of anything in Hollywood, which is surely as to why we unfortunately haven't gotten to see much of his face mainstream, since he's not a machine willing to bend over for just anything or anybody, he takes roles he finds interest in and that he enjoys. So, that means a stand-alone film would surely only expand the universe, certainly in a good manner. For goodness sakes, Sam had to correct the team on what lightsaber's canon. Anyhow, I personally don't give two shits about people who don't give a rat's ass about people or what they have to say and go out of their way to be a complete a-hole, so I've truthfully got no clue as to why I even wrote this. Maybe try on treating others as if they're actually another living, breathing being.
I totally see Sams point, I don’t necessarily disagree with him, but I personally think JJ made the mistake of not putting him in the first movie, because I think it made Rian confused as to why Luke didn’t feel Han and show up at the end to save Rey and Finn. I liked what Rian did with the character and I feel the journey was super interesting. I don’t get why TFA wasn’t one last adventure with the main crew passing the Baton. But this is what we got. So whatever we’ll get something new now with new characters.
Totally agree with Sam when it comes to the spirit of what George Lucas intended and created Star Wars for and from is the key to it, and the reason why The Last Jedi failed when it tried to take independent vision over contributing and continuing what George had started. J.J Abrams at least had respect for the story, universe, characters, and fans.
He needs to come to a new star wars as a jedi or sith , or both with some redemption in it. Sam Witwer , we need you now more than ever in this weakling galaxy
Not only is this stud best friends with my favorite TV character of all time in Dennis Reynolds, but they both agree that the sequels lack the creativity of George Lucas. BRAVO, SAM AKA STARKILLER (AND NOT THE BS BASE)!!!!
JJ put Luke in exile for 14-15 years, not Rian. To make a sequel trilogy, concessions had to be made for the sake of conflict (drama). That meant undoing the happy ending of ROTJ. Rian did the best he could with what he was given. If you want to blame someone, blame Lucasfilm as successful trilogies aren't made by passing the baton to the next guy without a firm plan in place. A singular vision was needed the entire time, whether it was a writer, director or creative producer.
I agree that the overall structure of trilogy is in disarray, which contributes to it's issues. But I don't think Luke needed to be taken THAT far for the sake of concessions. Hiding on an island is one thing, nearly killing and abandoning your own nephew is another.
There's only one man in star wars that I have a man-crush on. And that is Sam Witwer - this is my man! I claim him, and I will lightsaber duel any man or woman who tries to claim him for themselves!
If I am successful in launching a lightsaber youtube channel I am going to hunt this guy down and interview or get him involved in some way, although I am not unique in this desire, so only if he allows it - his powers are formidable.
I agree thematic intent is important, but what ship is what is actually kinda important you know? For consistency and writing, I don't really like the idea that we should just not even think about stuff like this, TLJ is a prime example of that stuff going wrong. I think it's good to point out when things are bad too because it helps us improve more and more.
I´m not so into the "new" Star Wars movies or games as I grew up with the THREE once and forever "original" Star Wars Movies (duck) and therefore I am just hoping that Sam Witwer will do mindblowing characters in movies or tv shows in the future - in front of a cam and as himself - as an (underrated?) actor who should be hired for his great talent and charismatic gift. And not "only" for his voice or for games or Star Wars reasons... ;> I would like to see him in Mr. Hyde (from ONCE UPON A TIME) in his own series and with a good and creative writing. Or in an interesting action hero role. Perhaps as an Avenger, a new one? Just in a character worth playing - a difficult one - he`s best in that and has depth others don`t… A great drama movie with lots of romance would be worth it, too - or even a 50th musical perhaps? Great luck for that kind of thing, Sam! ;-) To be honest I think (even if he is very good in what he`s doing) he is wasting lots of talent if he don`t wanna fight for bigger roles and his place to be in the cinema...kind of sad then. Because hobby is Hobby (and personal interest) - but he could do better! Perhaps he just has to believe that he`s worth it?! Then, Sam, may the force be with you!

in a way George Lucas predicted the future of the USA with the prequels and showing how a democracy can become a dictatorship because the USA is headed in that direction now.
Rian is obviously a talented director but his decision to regress Luke into a disheartened and cynical hermit will end up costing Disney/Lucasfilm a fortune and has sadly put the franchise at risk of collapse.
As Richard E. Grant is highly likely to be playing Thrawn in SW Ep 9 ....I have suspect Sam may also be the film as an older Ezra. Sam's right about the the fanboys constantly bickering convinced they represent most fans. They need to STFU and let the fans feel what they want about Disney's SW. TLJ is a bad film primarily due to the shockingly bad writing from start to finish. However, TLJ doesn't ruin Luke, core FILM CANON or JJ Abrams' trilogy story that follows core FILM CANON. FILM CANON explains in TFA that' 1. Snoke created Rey using midi chlorians 2. Rey's mother lied to Snoke to save Rey from him 3. Luke and Obi wan trained Rey and made her forget so Snoke wouldn't find out who she really is. 4. Finn & Rey are the new Han & Leia or Anakikn or Padme 5. Rey is the Chosen One to bring balance to the Force 6. Rey will become the first GRAY JEDI with Finn by her side ... now freely able to marry & have children .... and able to use the dark side of the force. 7. Kylo Ren is aggressively killing his good side and will be unredeemable. Rian Johnson was told by JJ Abrams about how powerful Snoke is, that a Skywalker was never going to beat him .... and that only the child or CREATION of Snoke will be the Chosen One to bring balance to the force. Rey always had the bloodline and training in TFA. TLJ used Luke, Rey & Kylo .... to show how POWERFUL Snoke is. Snoke made Luke think of killing Ben, want the Jedi to end, give up & want to die. Snoke wanted Keylo Ren to kill his good and "complete" Kylo's training. Snoke created all the Reylo mind links and played with the two .... specifically to get Kylo to kill his good side. Snoke was the only person strong enough to FORCE PROJECT for hours without killing himself. Again, only Snoke's child or creation will bring balance to the Force. TLJ is a bad film .... but doesn't ruin JJ's trilogy story, doesn't ruin Luke .... and doesn't ruin Star Wars. It's just a bad SW film. I am surprised Sam didn't figure out JJ's trilogy story or what RJ was doing with TLJ .... or did he?
Rey winning against Kylo in the first movie of the new trilogy, creates zero threat level for how Kylo is as the antagonist. The protagonist is only as good as the antagonist is. Rey not having to undergo any training what so ever, breaks star wars lore. Even George Lucas said that you can learn to use the force, but you have to spend years to learn it. Anakin with the highest potential of force capabilities, couldn't mind trick, force push or anything until he started training. Even then he lost to count dooku while he was with Obi Wan against him. This made count Dooku a significant threat in the views of the audience, as only Yoda could stand toe to toe with him. Go to Ep 3 and years have passed, Anakin has grown significantly in strength and thus won vs Count Dooku. Same can be said about Luke vs Vader. Vader was dominating heavily against Luke in ep 5, in ep 6 years have passed and Luke has grown significantly in power by training under Yoda, thus he was able to best him in ep 6. How is it stated in the movies or anything, that Snoke made Luke think of killing Ben?
The garbage woke Dysney trilogy needs to be erased from history. It was complete trash from start to blundering end. Kraphead Kennedy has destroyed Star Wars.
