My mam died recently. In the week after we were listening to music, for no obvious reason the song playing skipped and this started. I take it as a message from mam as I spent the last hours of her life by her side so the meaning is relevant. I love my mam. x
The difference is that in the movie, Jessie was singing the song about Emily, her former owner. Here, Samantha is probably singing this about some boyfriend of hers.
I know most people's stories on this are about loved ones that died but for me, a person who is realizing their best friend has found others that they value more, this is exactly how I would describe my feelings. We would always say we loved each other and hang out all the time. If he got upset, I'd be the first to notice. But now the spends his time with others due to our busy schedules and when something I really valued came up, he ended up wanting to do it with the others instead even though this was something we used to always say was our thing. It's not as depressing as a death but it's still heartbreaking, seeing someone drift away and wanting that they will look back at you only for them to feel happy where they are. I'm happy for them, but I can't help but reminisce and wish he was still mine. I mean this all in a platonic way by the way, he has a girlfriend but, you can still love your friend just like love with family.
So this is weird but... This makes me think of my cat Perkey... He was a gorgeous Snowshoe cat that climbed onto our portch as a stray kitten a week before my 11th birthday. I've been going through a lot of recovery from terrible trauma. When everything was going on, he was always the one who was there. We were the closest friends... One night while I was the only one awake I started crying and I told him I would succeed before he left me while he layed on my chest and purred.. Last Easter he went outside as he usually did, but he never came back... I miss him so much and I wish we had had more time together. He was truly the only reason I kept going back than. The side of my bed where he used to lay feels too empty, so I filled it with stuffed animals. We've gotten a new cat named Precious and the promise is transferred to her. Although she likes my mom better, I know she loves me just as much as my baby boy did... RIP Perkey 2016-2018 I hope you are playing with all the other cats in heaven, please know I do everything for you. See you there one day sweetie.

I think about my Dad when I hear this song. My Dad and Mom got divorced but decided to live in the house because I was only 4 years old. My Dad and Mom got along well but there were a few fights here and there. When my Mom asked my Dad to be home by a certain time he would get there 30 minutes later. As soon as he got home he would lock himself in his room and not come back out until morning when he had to go to work. I only see my Dad a few hours every week. I also think about my Grandparents. My Grandmother died when she was in a bus and the bus got hit. My Grandfather lives in a different city and I haven't spoken to him in years. I still remember him and when he used to play with me all the time. I remember smiling and laughing all the time when I was with him.
I'm very sorry to hear that miss. Just always remember, you are the woman that brought him into the world. Without you, he would never have existed. I'm sure he loves you just as much as you love him. Never ever forget each other and may God always look at both of you.

I was dating someone who 2008 who made everything feel perfect. I had no anxiety, no doubts. But he died and I don't think I've believed much since. Last night in dreams, my mind played this montage of a life we never got to have and I woke up with this song in my head and as I'm typing this, a tear on my cheek.
My dog was just diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. He's only 11, but it feels like we've had each other all my life. He is my son in every way, I got him before his eyes were even opened. You can't imagine the hell we made it through together, I'm only alive today because of him. I'm not even remotely close to ready to lose him, but when it does happen this song is going to remind me that he loved me and I did my best to give him a good life. I remember my grandfather while hearing this song. He and I used to be close before. He treated me as his favorite granddaughter. He treated me like his princess. But now he's getting older and we all know that old people tend to have some problems. Due to that, we had a little misunderstanding. I didn't know that our misunderstanding would lead us to forgetting each other. Ever since that misunderstanding, he already forgets me and he never calls me anymore. This reminds me of my Papa (grandpa). I didn’t have a dad in the first few years of my life, him and my uncle took that role. Me and Papa did everything together. Went fishing, snuck sweets, he’d even take me to work with him sometimes at the old Attorney’s office he used to work at. He was with me the first 8 years of my life, but sadly, passed away back in 2015. He was and always will be, one of the greatest people I ever got to meet. Rip Papa, I love you so much and will always carry your memory with me. ❤️

I miss my boyfriend this isn’t some story of how he fell out of love. He was from a Christian family and we where in a gay relationship they couldn’t except it and we weren’t allowed to talk but we still did he was also abused at home he wanted to kill himself so he could get out but I talked him into waiting till I got to where he lived and I took him to a runaway shelter who turned him away so I took him to my hotel the police found him and took him that happened last year January 16th I haven’t heard from him since and I want to move on but something is holding me back I can’t let go and I don’t know why maybe it’s just cause they whole thing left me with more PTSD then I already had but man I hope he’s okay

My childhood dog passed away March 27th 2020. His name was Buddy and he was a Yorkie Chihuahua mix. I've had him for 6 years and he was my birthday gift. My parents were always more strict on him than I, so most of the time he was sitting beside or sleeping near me. Whenever he was scared or anxious, he'd retreat into my lap. I played with him a lot when he was little, but as I got older and busier, I started to drift away from him. Most of day he'd sleep because no one would play with him. But, he still loved our entire family. Whenever we would leave for a long time, he would always excitedly greet us at the door. 6 years of him running to the door whenever I came home from school. My sister's roommates were taking care of a foster dog, it was a white husky named Bella. She was attached to my sister, so when my sister visited us in March, she took Bella with her. As soon as I laid my eyes on her, I had an uneasy feeling. She was around 4x bigger than Buddy. Bella would often try to go near him because she was curious but Buddy was afraid of her. Normally where I spend most of the day is in the dining room because that's where my laptop is. We have to block off the area because Buddy thought that carpet was grass. He found a way inside the dining room by squeezing through the cardboard. He'd lay down by my feet because he was afraid of Bella. He wouldn't eat either when Bella came. I think it's because she ate his food and her scent was on it. My parents tried to get him to eat from a different bowl but he simply wouldn't. I was the only one able to get him to eat his food. Everyone loved Bella except for me. She was aggressive towards me and I generally got nervous around big dogs. On March 26th, when I was chilling in the dining room, I heard my parents shriek. It wasn't just a normal yell, so I came to the kitchen to see what was going on. My dog was lying on the floor, shaking aggressively with blood coming out of his neck. My dad and sister took him to the vet. They did an x-ray on him and stabilized his breathing. The doctors told them that he had to be transferred to a pet hospital so he could be properly analyzed. They told me all that when they came home 2 hours later. During that time I was in a complete breakdown. Later in the evening, my parents went to go get him to get him to the hospital. They came home 6 hours later and told me that the doctors would see his condition. Then the next morning he was gone. He held on the whole night. Bella had bitten him in the neck and his neck was broken. He also had neural damage I believe. The doctors said that we could have the choice to let him go through surgery, but it was going to be $6000 and a 10% chance he'd survive. And even if he did, he would be paralyzed, he wouldn't be the same. My dad went there that morning and he chose to put him down. I didn't get to say goodbye to him. Whenever I hear this song, I think of him and I. I love him to the moon and back and I'm glad he's out of pain.
This didnt remind me of my father, hes alive, but it reminded me of my Aunt. She died maybe a year or so ago. I miss her so much and her death has hurt me to my very core. She was someone so close to me. I lost her to pancreatic cancer. I just hope shes resting well in heaven.

I cried when I heard this song because it remind me of my brother when me and him were younger and we were best friends and we would play do what little kids did make sand holes, climb up trees ,and get stuck we even used to hit each other with sticks and then years later he went to go live with my grandma, my mom said that he was just going on a sleepover with her and it would be a couple days before he got back, couple days for me it meant like 2 or 1 days and so I sat next to the window waiting for him to come back, minutes tuened into hours and hours turned into days and days turned into weeks I got worried and I asked my mom where he was she said he wasn't coming back I ask her why she said because we don't need him here years went by I was a teenager now and he was a teenager now he's a year older than me and I'm a year younger than him when I went to go see him he wasn't the same he didn't want to play with me anymore he wanted to look at pictures of girls do guy stuff am I wrong for not changing or is he wrong because he decided to change but either way I still want my brother back he doesn't care though I should have known better then to believe that he would stay the same after so long but it still hurts me because he never called me nor does he ever text me, no he forgot about me or he just doesn't love me anymore I feel stupid so stupid because I let him hurt me like this but I'm supposed to cuz he's my brother right?
This makes me think of my old best friend. He was a chill guy, always fun to hang around. But I was an idiot and treated him like trash, and pushed him away. I regret it, a lot. He was always a great friend.
