Watch Samantha Fish live at Paste Studio ATL! More sessions and interviews here: www.pastemagazine.com/studio Audio: Chris Senador Video: Andrew Barkau
Saw her Bristol this year. On a ship in Bristol docks. She was outstanding. She can play the living shit out of that guitar, sings, writes her own very good stuff. Fantastic talent and can't wait to see her in Cardiff in 2020. Should be a megastar.
I find myself listening every day! This lady rocks! Have to catch one of her shows one day....Samantha, see you tomorrow as I do every day on my computer....
Watching her is almost better than listening, her hands, feet, the way she moves her face, the whole package is a feast. Watch this woman, she has been a long time coming, she is needed in this world.
Solid Gold. I’m into fishing and this came up on my feed. Best fish I’ve seen all year. Can’t believe she is not that well known. She blows away most of the mainstream talents.
Honest to GOD! I accidentally came across Samantha Fish about 3 months ago on RU-vid, barefoot and banding away on that cigar guitar. I was stunned and mesmerized. I could not stop listening or watching. Musically, she hit something in me that I did not know existed. Since then, I bought everything she's ever recorded, and drove 24 hours to see her in Penascola. Thank you dear Jesus for bringing her into my life. I was less than 10 feet from here in Pensacola and I was BLOWN away. Listened to her all the way on my 24 hour drive. Craziest thing I've done in a while but I had to see her. I only wish I took the time to actually meet her as she invited the small group to gather after the show, but I had another 24 hours to go and had not slept so I left. Wish I hadn't. I swear to God I'll meet her. She's changed my world. I listen to her everyday on my hour run and can't get enough of her. Thank you Samantha. PLEASE come to the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale! Love ya. Thanks for this video.
Patrick PhippsPA Patrick - I relate. I’m a 65 year old music freak and 2 years ago I stumbled on her videos and bought up everything. She’s a stellar entertainer with the vocal and guitar chops to match. I’m loving watching her rise in the music industry. She’s definitely not just a flash in the pan.
I am 67 years old and from Denmark. I first listened to Samantha about half a year ago. I have listened to her music ever since then almost every day. I am looking very Much forward to the concert in Copenhagen march 2020. And I will also attend the concert in Hamburg one week later.
Loving reading the back stories to discovering her amazing talent. Mine was while lying in the bath watching Big Mama Thornton play a live show on RU-vid, Big Mama was finishing and ' up next ' showed 'I put a spell on you' by Sam Fish, being a fan of CCR and having no desire to see one of favourite songs butchered I was keen to press cancel, but my soaking wet hand wouldn't work on the screen ( thank God ). What then followed was me watching in stunned silence as this amazing lady left me spellbound with an incredible performance. I instantly ordered all she'd recorded up to that point and have since enjoyed watching/ listening to her progression. Every album is a gem but her latest Kill or be kind is my number 1 and I love the performance of four of the songs in this session, she seems to be getting better and better😀😀
This is brilliant. For those who weren't Samantha fans before today, watch her videos 2011-13 and see the changes. I loved her early blues stuff, but she has certainly come a long way since then. A great band
Until yesterday when a video popped up I'd never heard of Samantha Fish, I used to have a neighbor in the late 80's with the last name of Fish. Here is what I will say now that I know who she is, SHE ROCKS and can't wait until I can see her live.
Samantha and her band never disappoint! Wonderful to see another excellent Paste session. Thank you! Definitely need to share this with as many as possible!
Thank you Samantha for adding light in these dark CO-VID19 times! Your music is uplifting, sensational and inspiring I started listening a few years ago and i love u even more not only as a singer and musician but as a person! She's a fabulous songwriter too!
Truly a groundbreaking performance. It is like stepping into a musical history lesson written for the ages. Thank you Paste Magazine for inviting her to perform!
@@hotnindza I agree people say she should play stadia rock no! Stadia rock is a turn off the small venues is where Samantha's magic works I'm not against her playing slightly larger venues than she is now. Music biz would try to ruin her so stay honest Samantha and give us the music you want to create and we'll love u for that!
@@kevinduff3584 They're already doing it. She is at her very best with a bass player, a drummer, and an otherwise empty stage. How does the saying go? "I don't care about no trumpet playin' band."
Love ALL her stuff......transition between first two songs......just another example of Awesomeness! Love........ Dream Girl-Beautiful Samantha....to the others...Excellent sound.Love.
What a class act. First song vocal has that lovely Aime Winehouse tone. You go girl. A great talent. Listened to first video the other day. Can see why there are so many videos of you on line. You are a great performer. Great guitar work on four and six strings. You have got the real pure blues. Love when you match voice and guitar melodies. Keep it up you are a true inspiration.
Excellent quality live recording, even better on my headphones. Hoping She comes out with an official live concert DVD off this tour. Saw her twice in early December. Unforgettable,
Outstanding, absolutely gorgeous. Incredible band, brilliant artist, magnificent session. Thank you very much for the wonderful portion of magic, Paste
Great vocal audio with PASTE. Bought this album in November 2021 at her Stone Pony engagement along with new Faster release. Incredible listening. Live though Sam is just out of this world.
Watch It Die Amazing! The transition into it. Great talent. Been listening for several years now. Everyone needs to go back thru the years a listen to her journey. 2009 till now. Search RU-vid. You will not be disappointed.
I didn't really get her, until now. She seemed to be pushed as a lead guitarist first, but her vocals and songwriting is where it's at! Thanks for changing my mind.
THE,, top performer, in the performing world today. I've been watching her for a while, 100% professional, Band as well. There are also very few Bass players, that show the love for the what they do, the way this guy does, Drums,? they are dead on, Keyboards,? Got soul, are right! I can't find anything wrong. I wish I could compliment them better than I have..
She just gets better and better; she was never bad: She's a new Janis Joplin, looking like Marilyn and playing like a blues great. She's got the right stuff, and she can do this live, time after time after time. I can't even wash my hair that consistently. She must either really fit as a torch singer or just really, really wants it. She truly understands how rock music works and how to use it: quite a skill set. And now guitar pedals with an out-of-this-world sound. What a musician!
I think Dreamgirl, done here in Paste studio, is some of, if not the best music you have ever done. It just sounds great in this studio. Nobody can copy that. #1. Bravo. Say I'm your dream girl, drift away with me We spread our wings and fly as far as we can see But when you're ready you go back to the ground, and I can't come down If I could give up, a happy ever after I'd be gone If you could live up to the dreams that I've been having I'd hold on Say I'm your dream girl, come to your aide I fight your demons as it was my own crusade And in the morning when you go, I face darkness you will never know If I could give up, a happy ever after I'd be gone If you could live up to the dreams that I've been having I'd hold on Say I'm your dream girl, you call on my love Give the parts of your heart you think I'm worthy of I wish you'd take the rest of me, these tears they kill your fantasy I know, oh I know If I could give up, a happy ever after I'd be gone If you could live up to the dreams that I've been having I'd hold on If I could give up, a happy ever after I'd be gone If you could live up to the dreams that I've been having I'd hold on
Samatha Fish Band! Luvin What She's Doin' Soo Tastefully With Her Effects' (very easy to overplay those!) She Masterfully Keeps The Vibe Alive 'So Pro! - And Her Awesome Band Is Just So Tight and REAL' - Carrying That Titanium Light Feel' While Punchin That Move To The Heavey Groove! -🎤🎸🔊🎼 Tone n Blessings Always To You All!
Damn! Samantha you have come such a long way! I love your new stuff! I do however miss the raw three piece, your wonderful guitar, voice, and bass guitar, and drums. I truly believe you are at your best when hungry in a small "dive bar". I hope no offence will be taken by this comment. Of course then you go and play "Bullet Proof" and we are right back at the beginning!
I bought a cigar box guitar because of her. Great fun. She's my inspiration when I want to pick up my slide. Her and Ariel Posen and Joey Landreth. Great modern slide players.
Great song sung with passion right down from her soul .She is a beast on the guitar love how she just switched over to another guitar like nothing 👍🎵🎵🎸🎸
I love how ugly she plays. She owns her space. I really respect how well she knows her instrument and how hands on she is with her rig, she knows exactly the tone that she is looking for and how to dial it in.
Not trying for pretty. The honesty of the music she creates has it's own beauty. I wanna say the platinum hair and false eyelashes is the artistic irony and might get some looks and likes. She's a fucking genius and I love her. But she's all about her own strength and power...no Marilyn.
This is such a fcukin great comment. Ive been fortunate to have seen her from her very early days. Its been fun to see her grow through a few different phases. Now, more than ever she's just Sam, doing her thing.
Lisbeth Bird I have a lot of respect for women like her and Bonnie Rait, I hate to play the gender card, but rock and blues are defiantly male dominated. It’s funny a man can carry around a guitar case and no one actually asks him if he can play or knows anything about theory, he is just considered cool. As a girl that played electric in high school and college all I got was shit from a lot of men. I guess they assumed that I was cutesy, therefore incompetent. I had an argument on Facebook because a guy was having buzzing on certain frets and his guitar was new. So my reply was maybe the neck tension was off or warped on the sting height needed adjustment. Then ‘Mr Rockstar’ as I call him chimes in that’s absolutely impossible because all guitars come from the factory absolutely perfect. 🤨 I explained that humidity and temp can cause issues, I told him that my Strat hates rain and is finicky about staying in tune. He pronounces that ALL Fenders are total shit. 🤬 His yard guitar sale beats the hell out of Fenders. I was just going to let it go. Than he tells me that he is a recording artist and I needed to look up his sound cloud profile. Wow... this guy would fit in for a casting call for American Idol... smh... bad doesn’t even start to explain it. Way off pitch vocally, can’t even make D and G chords sound clear or switch between them on time, half the strings were dead. Than he wanted my feedback... I didn’t want to be a @ick, so all I said is ‘wow your mama must have told you that you were good’. 😏😛I left it at that. Than he tried to hit on me. This is what girls with guitars get all the damn time. I’m happy to see that Samatha has the ability to keep going.
Ah, yeah. Janis, Bonnie, Susan,T., All of the Joans*, and the Joni, Rickie Lee, Aimee, .... *Osborne, Armatrading, and Baez I also nominate Rosie ledet.
