Samantha Fish with Eric Gales perform ShakeEm at the Shawnee Cave Revival 7-17-21. Visit our website for more information and future events. www.shawneecave.fun
Samantha Fish is a great example of modern Blues. I don't know what bands you're familiar with, and I don't mean to be presumptuous, two other artists you might like if you don't know them already, Rory Gallagher, a master at slide, and Larkin Poe, two sisters that can both play.
If you have young kids please introduce them to what real music is. I'm so grateful that my parents exposed me to rock & roll and the blues when I was younger. The mass-produced corporate trash that is passed as music these days is depriving the younger generation of true artistic expression. Such soul. Such depth. Such passion. This is amazing.
One of my all-time favorite memories is the time my son, one of my granddaughters, and one of my great granddaughters (5yo) were all riding in my car. I had my Pandora on and The Joker, by Steve Miller, came on. Immediately me, my son, and the granddaughter started singing along. By the end of the song, the great granddaughter was joining right in with us! Four generations enjoying the same song! It was a very magical and memorable moment…❤️.
Eric V-It took years, going through many genres, until “Blues” , I mean Good blues, like this-been through most. Like many types of blues. I term this “Texas Electric “ at its finest
It was so hot that day, but not as hot as Samantha Fish! Eric Gales was sitting in with everyone. Thank you Shawnee Cave Ampitheater!! The Rocks are Happy!
What a sound from Samantha's cigar box ! What a way Gales to enter to solo ! What a solo ! What an extraordinary slide solo from Samantha ! What a performance from them all !! What a venue !!
After a work day with the local radio pumping out the insipid offerings of the talentless and the banal I came home and this came up on my feed, thank god, this is the way music should be played it makes my heart sing, thank you Samantha and Eric, bloody marvelous .
That's because she's from Kansas City and we had jams all over KC, blues and jazz, almost every night of the week in 2012-2017 and she was out almost every night playing with local KC artists. I know her personally although obviously she's flown the coup and we don't see her as much in KC but you can't be in KC and be a musician and not know how to jam spontaneously! It's the way we do things!
Good Lord she is beautiful! I'm not used to blues guitarists being so fine! She's one of my favorites because of her playing but I sure don't mind watching her either LOL
They're all ok but Ms. Fish what dreams ate made of; outstanding guitarist, super singer, and stacked like a brick house. Good aged did I mention stacked 😃
She's the total package. Can play with the best of them, can sing and has great stage presence. And as you say, easy on the eyes. Also check out Larkin Poe
Great performance! Samantha Fish has to be one of the hottest acts going, through in Eric Gales and you witness a historical performance ( it’s like Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix just blew your mind ) Love Samantha, great artist, awesome live show and she’s working her butt off to entertain her fans!
Samantha played our local bluesfest , cool lady, Eric played BB Kings at Nola Jazz fest. Awesome friendly dude. He and Gary Clark are my Favorite Real bluesmen. Down & Dirty, not over polished.
this is my favorite song she does. man, there's some videos of her doing this in a small place in Florida back almost 10 years ago that totally blew my mind. serious feel. this jams too.
Eric has a similar flow to SRV in that he doesn’t seem to think about his soloing, it just flows like, as Clapton put it when describing Stevie, “an open radio channel.” His phrasing doesn’t follow any conventional blues formula, it’s just musical and wonderfully inventive. Great stuff!
Someone has recently stolen my signed red Samantha tee. I bought it at a pre covid festival. I asked her to sign it over my heart. Its a one off. GIVE IT BACK! I got thumbs up when I wore it around town by those in the know. This sesh looks and sounds fantastic. Wish I was there.
Oh man that is a true bummer, but just hold on to the memory. Son and I have known Eric since 2008 hanging out in Memphis. I have seen him 10 or 11 times in concert since then and to this day still do not have a picture of us nor an autograph ............ and you know what, I don't need one, I have all of the memories
I was so blessed to see Ero Gales in Person and I got to listen to him play,he is an Amazing blues artist,so down to earth and humble. He was receiving a much deserved award.Keep on playing those blues. Glad i ran across this clip.Samantha your a bad lady enjoyed this song you both sound electrifying together.❤
Something about the atmosphere of the cave ! I could feel muddy waters still there from a little over 40 years ago makes one proud to be from the area !!
Always great to find new blues musicians, especially young ones who will carry on this great music. Slide guitar and regular guitars together are absolutely the best. What great performances.
Just saw Eric 2 weeks ago. The Stratocaster Master was killin it. I had a great time but he left me wishing when I was a kid that I would have bought the "Advanced" Mel Bay chord book instead of the regular one.
I just saw her last Friday at the Troubadour in Hollywood and she kept this level of performance up for nearly two hours! Amazing, powerful, lovely indeed!
7 months later,,,,,,,,,,,,,cant get enough. You know how many times i've watched this video ??? Me neither,,,but its a crap load,,it blows me away everytime i watch it,,,,,i was just thinking what a tour with both,,,Samantha and Eric ??? Merry Christmas
you can see that the "cigar box" often goes out of tune ..., but Sam knows how to make an impressive sound ... !! I love this woman ... and her style .. !!
