Totally agree. There are many factors outside the music itself (why it isn’t mainstream anymore), such as branding, relatability, marketing, social media, etc. Why is it such a problem that jazz isn’t mainstream anymore? What did he mean about “accessibility?” It’s definitely accessible, anyone can find them in any platforms. Also, Adam Neely made a great video on his channel explaining this “problem”, in his “laufey is not jazz” video. Trends come and go. Jazz is probably getting somewhat popular again, and that’s great. I won’t be surprised if the hype died down again, that happens to every genre. Y2K aesthetic’s been popular lately, and the same cycle is just gonna happen all over again.
