@@daisyduke7473 Actually I played a lot of classical music with the accordion. It’s a shame that the accordion fell out of style in the US. I think it held up in other cultures. In fact my last gig was with my girl friend at a political rally for Mayor Delasandro of Baltimore, Maryland in Baltimore’s little Italy. You may not be familiar with US politics but he was the father of Nancy Pelosi the speaker of the house which after the Vice President is next in line for president if the other two should die we were 14 and made $25 each for a two hour gig. I’m 74 now so that was a lot of money for 2 hours work. My first part time job at 15 paid $1 hour at a grocery store which was minimum wage at that time. If I didn’t want other expensive things I would love to have a 48 bass Hohner. The Chinese’s accordions are okay but leave the diminished row off. Although I could play it with the right hand my fingers would still go to the missing row. I started weekly lessons at 6 and stopped at 15. I’m self taught on the piano but other than the sustain pedal there is not much else to learn as they are tuned the same and a keyboard is a keyboard. I started learn the piano when I was 22 after meeting my now wife whose mom was an excellent pianist and she helped me get started. My wife doesn’t play but she let me buy a Yamaha upright for $950. Sounds cheap but my first new car was a new 1964 VW that was $1450 road ready. In the 52 years my wife an I have been married inflation made a difference. When a moved to the Houston area the new 3 BR house I bought was $32,500 in 1974. I still live here in my 3 house and will be moving to my 4th soon. We just don’t need the space anymore.
