i love that Satch isn't trying to copy ed he's adding his own style while still giving respect to each song ed did. Ed definitely is smiling above. The band is tight and Mikey's vocals what more can i say if your lucky to get out and watch i don't think your going to regret it
@@KokoTheGorilla69 Ed and Sam lived a crossed from each other for quite the time and anything from 5150 to end era wise Sammy has every right to go out and perform. I will respect your opinion but to me I don't think ed is complaining above when there are few other people out there playing Halen tunes. People will hate and complain as well as others will say differently but i think its pretty awesome to see Sam out there with the boys playing some of the tunes. Satch isn't Ed but Satch is no slacker either but at least he's not trying to clone ed either for if he was, I'm sure be even more hate because a people would go oh you didn't do it right etc.

Sammy sounds awesome! And the band is kicking it in high gear!! Keep on EVH's music, the legend alive. RIP Eddie - miss you and that will continue even after my last breath.
So perfect in the memory of EVH, great tribute to Ed’s freewheeling musical style which was & continues to be life changing for tons of people. Bravo!!
Only three things. Good to hear that even Joe can not play the flagoletts like Eddy did. It is so frustrating to practice and practice and practice and it does not Sound even similar. Second. Good to hear Joe brings in his own Tone and style into the songs. Third. It is sad that we can not hear them in Europe.
I'll bet Joe learning all these songs and playing all of this is going to somehow come through on his new album/ CD.. It has to inspire a bunch of new ideas for him
Sammy isn't honoring anything but his own name and his ego and himself with this trying to recreate Van Halen. Does he ever mention Ed during the shows? If this is truly a tribute there should be a part where they show Ed or atleast mention him.
The bass isn't coming through in here but the sound was HEAVY last night. I think part of it is the fact that they're tuned down a whole step so the lower frequencies are a bit jammed together. I loved how most of these sounded tuned down.

Dude we get it, you will ride ur dads coattails til the day you die, but show some integrity.
It might depend on the venue, and that's more about what the facility charges, but we had 2 lawn tickets including parking and spent less than $100 for the entire night.
Where else are you going to hear Van Halen music played in a big venue with two of it's band members, a contemporary of EVH, and two other talented musicians?
They sound good theres no doubt about that but no matter what they play and how hard they try they just cannot reproduce that Elusive Magic of Van Halen. I'll wait and buy the DVD!
I guess Satch has to be drunk and stoned for you to be happy. Makes sense for a master guitar player to play someone elses solo note for note. But VH troll love to comment how the addict was the best.
I am going to see them with the correct expectation. Sat is barely a close on some of these songs. Sammy is singing 2 keys down and the drummer is relatively boring. I say this only to be extremely impressed and proud of them. I know there is a wizard guitar player out there that sounds just like Eddie. Kinda of how Boston found their guy from Home Depot years ago. They should have found him and gave him a shot at this tour.
I can understand putting your own spin on things but if you are going to "honor" EVH, why butcher the solos to the point that they don't even sound like the original material? Jason B. with the "AVH kit" but it has his Dad on the drumheads. Something is off with this whole thing based on how Sammy promoted it at the beginning. It's like everybody is making sure you know who they are instead of just honoring the music.

I’ve seen the setlist and they’re not doing what Hagar was promising: a deep dive into the catalogue to honour the legacy of VH. Hagar phones in Roth-era tunes, of the scant few they play.

If they wanted to just put somebody out there that can sound like Ed, there are lots of better choices, Pete Thorn would've been my pick, but there is something to be said about chemistry. Sammy went with what he knows with playing with them in The Circle and Chickenfoot. There's too much emphasis on this being a tribute instead of just accepting it as an effort to keep the Van Hagar era music alive.

@@johnvize3636 First instrument thar EDV played was piano and it was CLASSICALLY trained , it recorded LOTS of songs where keyboards were more important than guitar : and the cradle will rock ..dancing in the street....jump...I'll wait in the Roth era and then love walks in....feels do good ...when it's love....right now and many others...so what?????
