@@davidGerT Ed had such an unique tone to his playing, it was actually amazing. He sounded just like he was in the studio. Even when he was doin a live performance. Not many Guitarist's can do that. Yngwie, Steve Vai, Michael Angelo Batio, oh and of course the late great Randy Rhoads. He will be missed forever.
I got into Van Halen around the time of 1984 and 5150. I never understood the animosity of older VH fans to Sammy, nor would (or should) ANYONE every denegrate the Roth era of VH. BOTH eras were classic and both had great albums and songs. Yeah, there will never be another Van Halen 1, that album just (and still does) rocks to this day! I mean, okay they went in a bit of different direction during the Sammy era but EVH was already pushing for that direction when ROTH was still in the band. He just didn't have Roth standing in his way or trying to dictate things. EVH had full freedom under Sammy's reign as vocalist. Both (vocalists) are charismatic and great frontman, Sammy being the better vocalist all around while no one could contain crazy Roth from saying or doing anything. Sammy even tried to get Roth to come out and sing some of HIS VH era tunes when they did that tour together in '02. Regardless, this is as close to a tribute we'll get to VH as it appears Al just wants nothing more to do with it, not that I blame him. Sammy pulled in Satriani who is a master axe man himself, he's got Mike on bass, who was there from the beginning of VH and Jason Bonham who is a killer drummer in his own right! The keys guy, sorry I'm not familiar with him but this was great show and for being 76, Sammy is still a great singer! Thanks to Sammy and the guys for doing this and for even doing a few Roth era tunes. Excellent show and thanks to this channel for filming and uploading this!
Just bought my sister and her husband tickets to Sammy in St. Louis concert for her birthday. She took me to Def Lepard for my birthday so figured i would return the favor. Plus she is a huge Sammy fan. Im not going because Ive seen Sammy twice already. He does put on a hell of a show.
Wow! Incredible show! Sammy sounds great, Joe is killing it, Michael still being Michael, and Jason is a beast! So glad we still have this music in 2024!
Thanks for the video. I saw Sammy Hagar with Boston and a cameo with Bette Midler at the Seattle Center Coliseum in Sept 1978. My seat was 75 feet from the stage and cost me $2.75.
I got this to say ..Mike has never looked so happy ! He seems like huge burden has been lifted off him..oh yes..he no longer has to live under those controlling thumbs of Van Halen brothers! Sammy has been a complete savior for him .Jasons drum set is so badass and such a tribute to his late Father ,Mr.John “ Bonzo” Bonham! The greatest drummer ever! I’ve been a Hagar fan since Montros. He is a great guy .
Nearly cried at the end for some reason. Great show and sad to see how time has gone by this fast! Thanks for posting and for soldiering through the gig on recording duties!
Thank you! I had to equalize the audio a little and do some fine color correction I was comfortable with in the end. I’m very happy I could indirectly help your girlfriend feel better too! I had a blast making it! 🎶🤘🏻🎸😁
Thank you! I sometimes ask the same question. I know the video is long but I did record the entire show and broke up the songs by time code if people wanted to see something specific without watching the whole thing. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Regardless of how many likes I get, I did have an absolute blast making the video! Thanks again!!😎
1:25:31 Sammy’s long scream during “Right Noe” is incredible. This is no mere moral 76 year old man. This is a legend! Thanks for the upload. Best video I’ve seen of this tour. 🫶
Thank you so much! I’ve said before, my channel isn’t monetized. I love shooting the concerts and putting them out there! I really appreciate your review, I had a blast making it! 🤘🏻😁🎶🎸
If only they would bring it to Australia. What a great celebration. Love each and every one of these guys. Well done to fellow Aussie Rai Thistlethwayte for scoring this keyboarding gig (& with VAI)... he too is a great singer and musician in his own right.
😢😢😢👍👍👍 Right Now 01:19:30 - моя любимейшая песня!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Seeing Sammy, Michael, and Satch tomorrow at Dos Equis Pavillion in Dallas. Been in the bucket since 80's, before life got complicated. Dream come true finally. Who's there with me in 2024?
What a great lineup! I'm overseas, otherwise I would travel to see this concert for sure! Man. I'm loving this SO MUCH. People, the guys in this band are legendary! Separately, or together. With every song I love it more.
Great video! Filmed very well, no shaking or moving all over the place. Sammy at 76yrs old is incredible. Joe is 68 and Michael is 70. Don’t know Jason’s age. Just proves that age is just a number, the rest is in your head.
From the Netherlands....THANK YOU....great Vid...awesome band...playing wirh so much fun....and dont forget....Sammy is well over his 70s....and still rocking his ass off....
Sammy Hager 76 years old!!!!!yes 76 years old!!!damn that guy has found the fountain of youth for sure!!!!I'm 56 and he blows me out of the water!!!so damn jealous of him!!!when I get older, I want to be like Sammy!!!!!lol.plus his voice is still great!!!!thanks for posting!!!
@@bonestripper1969 Well I thought the selection of songs were great. A lot of my personal favorites. A few he left out that should’ve been played in my opinion though. I also thought the band sounded great from my viewpoint. Sammy is in his mid to late 70s and I thought he did an awesome job. No one is EVH of course, but I thought Joe did a great job too. And Michael Anthony was amazing playing and singing.
I was at the show but pretty far back. The guys looked tiny on stage from our seats lol, thank goodness for the digital boards! Thank you for filming and posting this man! Some great film work brother! I just subscribed, keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! I do it completely for fun! My channel isn’t monetized. I’m happy to have subscribers who enjoy what I’ve put out there! A few more shows coming to the channel. (Loverboy, Journey, Def Leppard, KC & the Sunshine Band, Yellowcard, Third Eye Blind). I just have a ton of editing to do on them first! Going to Bret Michaels Parti-Gras 2.0 this weekend! 🎶🤘🏻🎸😎
Much love to Sammy and Mike and the guys. Huge Van Halen fan . Eddie is smiling down from above. Absolutely amazing work from Joe and Jason kills it as always
Thank you for not only working so hard to film this entire show in 4K but also for an incredibly detailed description and time stamp markers of every song. Dude, you are a LEGEND! 🙏 Liked and Subscribed 😊👍
Celebrating the music of Edward Van Halen, let's celebrate the legend, what great music we have been privileged to experience in our lives we need to embrace it and appreciate how lucky we all have been.
saw him in tampa florida, still played the show even due to the weather conditions. Wish he played humans being instead of a song like satch boogie. Overall, really enjoyed definetly seeing him again if he goes on another tour.
Great to hear Mike playing on Satch Boogie. It was always a VH inspired track and it has an extra dose of authenticity with Mike adding his bass to it.
Awesome, no doubt, but the energy EVH had on stage when he was young is unmatched. How he could jump, dance and run around while playing was nothing less than phenomenal. He was truly one of a kind. And remember, he wrote all of their songs. Unbelievable.
