Sammy Hagar - When It's Love [live] - Best Of All Worlds Tour with Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, & Joe Satriani - Saratoga Springs, NY @ SPAC - Monday July 22, 2024 Featuring Pat Monahan of Train and Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon
It looks like Joe Satriani is really enjoying his life in a band. I'm really happy for him because he's too nice of a guy to be a solo artist late in his career.
These guys have already been through their trials and tribulations. They are all pros and should be doing nothing but enjoying themselves. And it shows!!!🤘
There absolutely was a nostalgic feeling in the air. This lineup really put on a great show. They honored the history and made a current statement as well. I appreciate you stopping by my channel and commenting. Hopefully I have other videos you enjoy and you'd be interested in subscribing.
Loving this. It's the closest thing you'll get to the Van Hagar years which I'm a big a fan of. Alex was invited but he declined. Jason Bonham is doing a great job filling in. You can't beat Satch on the guitar since Eddie's gone. Enjoy it while it lasts since Sammy is only 5 years younger than the current president. I'm not sure how many tours he's got left in him. Still awesome though.
I don't know why but seeing Kevin and Pat joining in I just grinned from ear to ear. Love Sammy and the band and can't wait for them to come to my neck of the woods.
Best song senior vacation 1988. Laying in the sand not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. But kept OU812 in the Walkman and everything turned out ok
Thanks for visiting my channel and sharing your memory. Music is magical like that. I have a clear memory of being in my bedroom and taping "Why Can't This Be Love" off the radio during a local station's nightly countdown. Still have the tape!
What do people want from a person in their late 80s? Youth forever? This guy sang some of the most amazing things that have ever been done in rock! Still, what he does today, even far from what was done in the studio, is still very difficult for several singers to do the same thing!
Awesome performance! For all the haters Father Time is coming for all of us .. would have been nice if the REO singer actually knew this somg before joining them though. Lol
Is it just me that doesn't feel Joe in this role? He an enigma and has carved his own sound and style for decades. Can anyone really do EVH? Honest questions my friends. Like Zakk doing Dime?? Maybe Nuno would have been more suited? Hey, I'm loving hearing Michael's beautiful backing vocals. Can't argue about that. ❤
I thought Joe *sounded* great. The tone & style worked for me. But I'm not really a technical guitar person or in any position to critique. I also feel that the sound flying through the air that night is not fully captured in my video. That includes the vocals. I enjoyed Zakk in that role when I saw Pantera (Legacy) last year. FWIW, I saw the original Pantera lineup multiple times between the VDoP and FBD tours. And yes, Michael Anthony sounded fantastic singing that night.
@@cheapseats12 You obviously don’t keep up with him or don’t watch many interviews... He quit or was fired from VH in 96 and never got over it..Since that time he never stops talking about it. I’ve been a fan of his since Montrose. Since ED passed he finally backed off a little... And his trashing of Roth got old. Roth was as important to VH as Ed was. If the VH brothers wanted to trash him that’s they’re business. Sam wasn’t in the band then and should have stayed out of that conversation..just saying…
@@shawncosmos5431 sounds like a you issue not a Sammy issue. And I listen to a lot of Sammy. Of course he talks VH a lot. He's fucking asked about it all the time dingy. Grow up cuz the issue is clearly on your end with him. Ur obviously a big original VH and Roth fan. Pathetic at your age. ✌️
Pat Monohan from Train and Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon joined them on stage. They were playing the same venue the next night and were already in town.
Again the usual suspects complaining about the sound as taken from a five dollar cell phone microphone….. I wish i could have seen this show. This tour did well.
At the show. Whoever mixed for the guys did a horrible job. First few songs, you couldnt make out much of anything, everything was muffled. They made some adjustments which sounded better, but it still was way off. The guys themselves played a good show. Wish i could of heard it with way more clarity.......
People are gonna hate me for saying this but I just can’t get into Satriani playing Eddie’s parts. It sounds like shit. I think I’ll dig out my old VHS of Right Here Right Now and play it on my 7.1 surroundsound.
Jesus dude! He's fucking 76 years old singing the last song, which is fucking difficult song I might add, of a 2+ hour set. Let's see if u can talk as well as Sammy can sing when u r 76. Fucking society today 🤦🏻♂️
Love VH but need more of the first 6 Pack songs on the set list by far the best VH after all it is a tribute that’s what people are paying outrageous prices for
@@garyforestier1118yup, no cover band here. If you want Van Halen you ain’t gonna get them anymore. OG VH as a band is no longer with EVH left this planet. You got Van Hagar which was a great band as was when DLR was the singer. MVH could have easily said yes to joining this incarnation of VH. But he chose not too. Van Halen minus MVH is better than no VH. We don’t have Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd to see live anymore. I decided to go see Sammy & VH in a couple of weeks. Sammy at 77 is still incredible. Rock on free world.
How can Wolfe watch this and not say, fuck it, I’m taking over lead guitar. I sound exactly like my dad and should be the one honoring him. Joe is good but he’s not EVH great!
Not every gig is going to sound the same regardless. I think this is the 4th show with maybe one or two days off. Listen to other shows before you be an asshole
SAMMY COULD HAVE WORKED ON HIS VOICE WITH A VOCAL COACH, STOPPED DRINKING, AND GOTTEN INTO GOOD SHAPE. IF MICK JAGGER CAN BE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE (VOCAL, BODY., ETC.) SAMMY CAN DO THE SAME. NO EXCUSE WITH HIS COUNTLESS MILLIONS.
