FRENCH - so to speak - DOGS are often attributed to THEE GREAT PYRENEES dogs .... I have a female .... they actually originated in Asia and brought to Spain & France .... given much praise as GUARDIAN DOGS for the Hillside Farms along the lower PYRENEES MOUNTAINS ...... there are several good Guardian breeds .... HOWEVER - I would trust a good size Male Pyr to stop any and all comers - they have thwarted GREY WOLVES assailing their livestock THEY PROTECT WITH INCREDIBLE FEROCITY !!!
